Well Balanced Awesome Set
" I have been a Legomaniac for 25-30 years now and am an avid Lego Marvel Fan. I just reviewed the Agent Coulson, Ironman, Detroit Steel set and the Capt America, Ms. Marvel, Super Adaptoid set. I had issues with both of those sets. The issue I had with those sets is that some of the characters felt cheap and out of place and the sets felt off balance in comparison of good vs. evil; i.e. Capt America had a jet, but Super Adaptoid had nothing else to fight with. Detroit Steel has a big mech, but Ironman had nothing to fight back with.
This set is not like either of those. This set is well balance. Both the good guys and bad guys have something to fight with: their bashing cars and stud shooters. This provides equal play factor for two people to play with. Also, the cars aren't lacking in features. I was pleasantly surprised when I figured out that the two hulk figures flew up at each other, bashing each other when the cars are rammed together. How fun is that!? My daughter and I had a blast playing with it.
The other positive note is the detail in the characters. Unlike the new Ironman suite from its respective set, all of these hulk characters look and feel like they belong in the current marvel lego universe. The female hulk mini figs are well painted and detailed. They especially fit well. The green hulk, even though his shade is different from previous hulks, still works and looks like he belongs. The red hulk with his raging eyes is awesome.
Great detail, great balance, this is why I love collecting... speaking of which,
Lego, when are you going to come out with a set involving The Collector? "

Lower Quality than usual
" I have been a Legomaniac since I was a kid, we're talkin like 25-30 years now and an avid Lego Marvel fan. Here's the deal with this set.
I like this set. Detroit Steel is a new bad guy we haven't seen yet. I like the mech. It was a good build, similar to the hulk buster, but with distinct, different details. The Agent Coulson mini fig is also a new figure we haven't seen yet. Again, cool. My issues are with a few details which could have been avoided.
First, why is Coulson's car Lola apparently lacking in some design. Don't get me wrong, it looks cool, but it has four studs on the hood of the car. The rest of the car is slick with nice lines except for those four studs. Why didn't they put a hood scoop on there or at least another flat plate? My other issue is the back bumper, if you can call it that. The two tan pieces which turn the wheels into flying mode don't match the rest of the car. I don't get it, there was a set with Nick Fury in a flying car, but all of the moving pieces were kept concealed. Why couldn't they do that here? Also with that set, the trunk of Nick Fury's car had a hidden flick missile. They don't have anything like that on Lola.
Second, Ironman doesn't match any of the previous Ironman suites. Don't get me wrong, I recognize that its a different version of the suite, but the color is really off and the helmet is just cheap. All of the other helmets open, but this one isn't contoured and doesn't open at all. With the new design, they could have come up with a really cool new helmet, but instead went with the easy and cheap route. What's worse is, they used the same helmet with a different paint job on Detroit Steel.
Third, this set and the Capt America, Ms. Marvel set are both completely unbalanced. In this set, Detroit Steel has an overwhelming amount of fire power against Iron Man. I get that there is a play and pretend factor that kids bring in, but for us older collectors, I'd like to see some balance. If I play with with my daughter, when one of us is the good guy and the other the bad guy, there's a lack of stuff for the good guy to play with. In the Capt America, Ms. Marvel set, there is a lack of stuff for the bad guy to play with. I'm just saying, I'd like to see a little better balance within the sets.
Despite my displeasure, I still bought this set for the mini figs and the Detroit Steel Mech. My OCD will probably continue to drive me to buy these sets, even if the quality isn't as good as it could be, but for its fans...
Lego, please fix these obvious oversights. "

Ok, but could have been great
" I've been a Legomaniac for years now and an avid Lego Marvel Fan. Here's the deal...
This build is ok; its great for kids and the price isn't that bad. My issue is with the apparent and sudden lack of quality with the recent Marvel sets. With this particular set:
The Capt America mini fig just seems cartoonish. He doesn't fit with any of the other Capt America Sets at all.
The Ms. Marvel is really kind of cool. I thought it was innovative the way Lego approached this mini fig. However, I would have liked to have seen two versions of her: a normal mini fig version, and her super powers version. The super powers version should have had the long arms and long legs, where the normal version just would have been normal.
Super adaptoid, although I'm not very familiar with this character, it stills seems cheap. The legs are standard grey legs, nothing that denotes some special super villain. The red wings were reused from falcon, and the helmet is literally the same helmet as Ironman and Detroit Steel, with a different paint job.
The jet is ok, nothing too special except that the disc shooters. Those are cool. I would have liked to have seen a couple of secret compartments on it. Forinstance, a compartment on the bottom that could have held Ms. Marvel. She could drop from there to capture Super Adaptoid. Also a second compartment on the top, behind the cockpit for all of the special little pieces. This seems to be a much more rare detail these days.
Overall, not a bad build, I give it 2.5 stars. I would have been willing to pay $25-$30 for the improvements that I talked about. "
