"Really cool build that works to Lego Technic's strengths (construction and farm equipment). Although - as others have pointed out - the small gears don't seem to have enough leverage to make the motions happen very quickly, there is enough space to substitute larger gears and frankly, this puppy is all about how cool it looks.
My only complaint is that this set is almost in a party of one and I'd really like to see more like it in future!"

Hits the spot
"I've been building Lego since I was a little kid and hence longer than most of the people visiting this web site have been alive. I still have all of my sets since that time (which I've passed on to my youngest son) but while helping my son build some of his more complex sets, I've rediscovered the joy of Lego building for myself. I really look for complex but aesthetically-pleasing Technics sets that look good sitting on a shelf in my office or display cabinet and that can also be toyed with now and then.
This set hits a sweet spot in that it is: relatively inexpensive, has complexities in the build that can challenge you, and looks great (for those of you who do custom builds, you'll find lots of really cool new pieces or useful pieces in new colors here).
Lego Technic lends itself to construction and farm equipment really well and this set looks just as complete and accurate as a specialty bulldozer model."
