Detailed Model Great Value
" I purchased this set to display alongside the GT3 and was a little bit disappointed to find out that the completed model is a little bit smaller than it’s predecessor however what it lacks in size it makes up for in great detail. This set comes with the most decals, especially large decals (two full sheets) of any LEGO set I’ve ever purchased. The build process is fun. The first 60% of the build is mostly internal structure and the last 40% fleshes out the body panels and overall vehicle shape. It doesn’t have that many play or action features aside from what you’d expect it any other technic set. If you’re a fan of Porsche and/or want a great sports car display model, this set delivers. The white/red/black color combination is unique and eye catching! All in all very happy with this set and enjoy seeing it displayed on my shelf! "

Amazing Display Model
" I went to my local LEGO store looking for the UCS Millenium Falcon but purchased The Colosseum instead since they were sold out of the Falcon. It took me about two weeks to complete the build. Spending no more than an hour or two per day due to the repetitive nature of the build. I found splitting it up made it less boring. I have encountered some of the issues others mentioned including: bent instruction manuals (it’s a shame... what happened to LEGO using cardboard to keep manuals rigid in the boxes? That should be employed for sets like this). Additionally, the orange plates on the bottom of the set pop off easily from the set flexing when you pick it up. All in all though it’s a sturdy build if you pick it up carefully. Not so much if you accidentally bump some of the upper sections.
In summary, it’s an amazing display model and will stay assembled and on display in my house for many years to come.
My only suggestion for improvement would have been for LEGO to include some side builds such as a Roman gladiator, weapons, armor rack or something of that sort for display on the side. The chariot works well if you’re lucky enough to buy this set at its release. "
