Glam-, Caveman, and Vacation Bat, King Tut
" I've never been a minifigures collector before, but after seeing the cool variety from the Batman Movie, I wanted to get some of these. Unfortunately, "feeling out" the bags is difficult if you've never done it before. It's also kind of awkward when you're doing it in the middle of a Wal-Mart and all the non-LEGO-collecting passersby are looking at you weird. So I just grabbed four of the ones that felt like they had big pieces in them, since most of the ones I thought were cool had some big pieces.
I was really hoping for Red Hood, but alas, I should have felt around longer for a large dome piece. Still, I was quite pleased with my haul. Glam-Bat is just great for posing in a rock-star fashion (I can just see him singing "An Untitled Self-Portrait" from the LEGO Movie). Clan of the Caves Batman is pretty cool, although he is my least favorite of the bunch. King Tut is great -- I'm a big fan of the '60s show, and this minifig captures Victor Buono's likeness quite well. The best one of all is the hugely popular Vacation Batman. He's so ridiculous, and his Ducky-ring is a beautifully crafted piece.
Although I liked each of these figures, I was a bit disappointed in the quality of material. The capes were the old-fashioned cloth that creases really easily. The printing wasn't great on the Vacation Batman's face (fortunately, it's covered by the mask, but still). For $3.99 -- plus tax -- a pop, I wish they'd added a little more quality, especially with the capes. Oh well. Still worth the buy. And the dual-molded pieces are very cool. "

Great Set for a NICE PrICE
" I picked this up the other day at Wal-Mart for only $17, but even the regular price of $20 would have been worth it.
Minifigs: This is my first regular Batman minifigure, and I was not disappointed. The soft, flexible cape is my favorite part. Mr. Freeze has awesome coloring and a really cool (and slightly hilariously ridiculous) head bubble. His freeze gun is also way oversized, which is just too funny. The security guard is great as well despite being such a generic character. How often do you get a security guard with an actual weapon? He's great for all kinds of battle situations.
Energy plant: Pretty plain, used some stickers, build design was not superior. However, it gets the job done. And you can pose a minifig holding the lever.
Ice block: quite a simple build but useful for fun setups.
Mech: Incredible poseability for such a small size. Very clever use of elements. Decent colors, although the transparent blue pieces look too greenish compared to the beautiful light blue opaque pieces. Wish they had used the newer transparent light blue for this.
Overall: This is one of the best-value sets I've ever purchased. Piece count lower than 10 cents per brick, and boy, what great pieces! "

Get it for the minifigs
" I would recommend this speeder because the piece count is high enough that the set costs less than 10 cents a brick and the stormtroopers are so cool.
The speeder itself has some cool functions, like the rapid fire shooters and the elevating heavy blaster in the front, but overall I just don't find it that interesting, which is not necessarily LEGO's fault, as a previous reviewer has noted. What is LEGO's fault is that the speeder is actually larger than minifigure scale. This isn't too much of a problem, since the speeder can fit more minifigs and storage boxes, but I do wish they could have sold a smaller speeder with the same minifigs at a lower cost.
The minifigures are the biggest reason to get this set. The stormtroopers in cold-weather gear are some of the coolest-looking characters from the upcoming movie, and the minifigs represent them well, especially with the "kama" leg-protection things. The helmets are cool as well, but they are too loose because the cavity at the bottom for the minifig heads to fit in is too wide. I really appreciate LEGO's decision to give the First Order stormtroopers the same heads as the clones and Imperial stormtroopers because it shows the continuity between the three trilogies and ties these new troops the stormtrooper legacy.
PROS:
minifigs
stud shooters
elevating blaster cannon
good price per brick
CONS:
speeder is somewhat boring overall
larger (and therefore more expensive) than it needed to be
helmets are loose
