great big review for a great little set
" It's great to see Chewie get his own Falcon. Han came with the previous version of this set. This is, of course, the new falcon, since it has the square dish. The minifig is the older, wiser chewy, a bit darker than young chewie.
First, the thing I love most about this set (and all of the micro-vehicles) is that it's fun to try to build without the instructions, then check your work afterwards. It's small enough that you have a fighting chance at getting it right. Hint: There's no empty space inside.
Compared to the previous model, this one is very similar. There are some minor changes in detailing and colors, but the basic structure is the same. It has one nice upgrade: the little blasters on top are the stud-shoorters, which work much better, and extra ammo is included. There are also some extra angle pieces on the back of the cockpit that give it better lines, and it uses a newer "o"-shaped element opposite the cockpit that adds nice detail.
There's a missed opportunity though: it only comes with the square dish. Considering the mounting is almost identical, they really should have included both dish parts. If they hadn't shortened the feet, you could store the extra underneath. There was also a nice detail piece on the side of the cockpit on the old version that's gone, and the silver top-vents were replaced with black ones, which stand out better, but the silver looked slick.
All in all, this is an upgrade from the older version, and a fun little ship to add to the collection. Some little missed opportunities make it a 4/5. "

Its a modular...
" My wife and I have been collecting the modular series almost since it started. The building has the pegs on the side like the modular buildings but it's a very different style. When this kit came out, the ninja theme turned me off a bit but after seeing the store model we decided to go for it.
The detailing is exceptional and the Japanese touches are well done. We've been to japans number of times and some elements brought back memories. I wouldn't call the kit a cultural education, but there is a lot that is familiar, from major elements like the bridge style to little touches like the a/c units on the side of the mid-rise structure. The kaiten sushi shop is probably what sold us on the kit. The comic shop is a lot of fun.
From a construction perspective, the kit is solid and there are some very creative uses of elements (what are they going to have me do with thirty mini fig wrenches? Oh...).
This is s great kit, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. "

Great details, good build
" This is a set that's packed full of wonderful little details from the office on the first floor up through the science lab on top. This set also had quite a few unique pieces that I'd seen for the first time. The highlight is the fire pole though, of course. ;)
So what didn't I like? Not much. The outside draws a lot of inspiration from the modular building fire station, maybe even a bit too much, but has it's own unique aspects as well. Working through the brick walls can get a bit monotonous, but not bad. I also think it would have been fun if the 1980's style boom box were 3 bricks instead of one. A few of the steps require squeezing a post into a hole in a stud, and some of them are extremely tight, to the point that it was a bit tough to get them together all the way (and I don't want to even try to take them apart).
Ghostbusters came out when I was still a kid, and I loved it. This was a total throwback for me, and a lot of fun. "
