Creative Design
" The addition of a legitimate roller coaster is long overdue from the LEGO Group, but this makes up for all that. This visually striking set adds a new level of play experience for the whole family. The price of this set makes it a bit hard to attain in many households, but is on par with the piece count. You get 11 minifigures which tops almost all other LEGO sets on the market.
There are a lot of moving parts here so be sure to follow the instructions very closely or you will have issues with the functionality. The chain and gears should all work well with little to no resistance to the cranks. The trains themselves move quickly and flawlessly around the track. The design is smooth and even though the trains move quickly on the track, the three circles it takes gives it a decently long ride before it either stops at the station or goes around for another ride.
You will want to add Power Functions to this. It is great fun to watch it work by itself. LEGO did a great job all around with this set. The only thing I wish it had was a loop, but I get that's asking a lot. Hopefully we'll see more similar sets to add to our amusement parks. "

Expensive, But Worth It
" This set is long overdue, but worth the wait. It has been 8 years since LEGO has come out with a Ferris wheel. Although this Ferris wheel is more than double the price of the Ferris wheel from 2007, it is more than double the fun (and size).
The base of this set is 48x48 studs. That is the same dimension of the large gray baseplate. The size does make it a challenge to place in your LEGO city, but despite its size it is surprisingly easy to move. Its solid design allows you to move this with no concern of it falling apart.
The Ferris wheel offers a lot of playability, but beyond that it is just great to look at. The overall look is stunning and a real eye catcher. The set is designed to fit with Power Functions, but unfortunately they are sold separately. No matter, I actually used a speed regulator from the modern 9v train era and it worked beautifully.
With the Grand Carousel, Fairground Mixer, and now the Ferris Wheel, perhaps LEGO will come out with a Roller Coaster next? Here’s hoping.

Same Plate, Higher Price
" LEGO has simply taken the same Green Base plate they have sold for years and given it a different name along with a substantial price increase. A 60% price hike over 1 year is a bit extreme. It used to be $4.99 USD. I got sticker shock when I saw these new plates. It is still a good quality product from LEGO, it will just cost much more. "

Large Price Increase
" Building plates are essential to any serious LEGO builder. While it is great that LEGO is now offering this color, they have also increased the price by 60%. I can certainly see them increasing them by perhaps a dollar, but an extra $3 is pretty extreme. It's still a quality product from LEGO and will serve its purpose well, but at a steeper price. "

Not your average firestation
" LEGO has come out will so many fire stations; chances are you have two or three in your LEGO city. The modular Firehouse fortunately does not fall into the typical category of fire stations. This set offers a historic look and offers many great features common in fire houses of the past as well as the present. The main floor has a large garage to park the classic fire truck as well as store all of the firemen’s equipment. The upstairs features a place for the firemen to relax between emergencies. There is a full kitchen with a refrigerator as well as a couch to relax on. The firemen also have access to the roof. This set even features a ping pong table with racquets. And finally, there is a pole for the firemen to use to get them downstairs in the quickest manner possible when an emergency arises. The exterior does not disappoint as well with very good attention to detail. The red brick looks great and fits well with the building. The whole building even looks well next to other modular building LEGO has previously released. A great set and worth every penny. "

A lot of Pieces
" Tower Bridge boasts itself as the third largest LEGO set (as far as pieces go). It offers a good challenge. You will want to spend some time organizing the pieces before you officially start to construct it. It will allow the build to go smoother. While this set is very large, it is not to mini figure scale. The vehicles are on a micro scale and do not offer you any playability. This is not a set you will be able to have in your LEGO city without having to make some serious modifications. As a collectors item, it is a great set and beautiful to look at. "

Adding versatility
" The Pet Shop does not disappoint as one of the sets in the very popular modular building collection. The name can be a little deceiving because only half of one of the buildings is a pet shop. This could have also been called an Apartment building as it allows for plenty of living space for your LEGO mini figures. The living space above the Pet Shop is my favorite part of this set. It features a full kitchen and a loft with a bed. The other side depicts the idea that someone is moving in since it features an empty room being painted and the top floor with moving boxes. The bottom floor does feature furniture as well as a bathroom, which is a little rare in LEGO building for some reason. All in all, this is a great set and will add a large amount of versatility to your LEGO town. "

A great set and a good addition to any LEGO city.
" Palace Cinema brings a new uniqueness to the modular collection. Compared to its predecessors, it offers a more extravagant look and dazzling exterior features. This is appropriate due to the fact that it is a movie theatre made for premier events. The overall build was much easier compared to previous modular buildings. This may be due to the fact that it is a two story building rather than three. It is built on a red 10x10 baseplate. I think this color may have been used to give the main floor a red carpet look rather than use additional pieces to make a tiled floor. The real value you get from this set is the exterior. The interior is a bit boring with only a few features such as the two ticket windows and a concession stand on the bottom floor, and the basic movie theatre on the top floor. The old fashioned projector is a nice touch. The marque is what really creates the look for this set. The black limo is a nice feature as well, but I think the wheel arches are a bit too long for the size of the wheels. Overall a great set and a good addition to any LEGO city. "

Another Great Modular
" Grand Emporium is another great addition to these fantastic modular buildings. It has great detail and a lot of playability. Just like the other modular buildings, it allows for easy access to all of the floors. LEGO did a great job designing the exterior as well as the interior. I would have liked to see a bit more of an effort on a floor for the bottom floor. Perhaps a fun tile design like Pet Shop and Green Grocer has. Instead, it has been left to the tan base plate. This set also features a realistic looking escalator. It looks great, but seems incomplete without another one opposite to it to indicate a way up and down.
As a corner building, it does look a little incomplete by itself. If two are purchased and one is built as a mirror, it allows for a very complete look, both on the exterior and interior. This could get very expensive though. All in all, Grand Emporium is a big winner in the modular building collection. I hope LEGO continues to come up with more great ideas for these builds in the future. "

Great set if you like Minecraft
" A lot of reviews about this are quite negative due to the small size of this set. Many LEGO sets are known for their impressive size. For $34.99 USD, many LEGO fans expect a much bigger set. While this set does contain 480 pieces, they are all very small. The box itself is the size of a small tissue box. The sooner you realize this is a micro set, you will not be disappointed. Fans of Minecraft will enjoy it, but if you are a LEGO fan and have no idea what the game is all about, it may not appeal to you. "
