"I've been eyeing this model up since it came out due to the outrageous price of the older UCS version. I have the UCS TIE Interceptor and it would have made a great addition to that piece.
However, this build will do nicely! I really enjoyed taking my time to build it allowing all aspects to come to life. This is my first large build in some time so it did take me awhile. Other obligations kept me from staying on it for long periods of time.
All in all, I love the design. The stickers on the cockpit were a pain to apply and I think it would have done better with printed pieces.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone."

Fun to build and share
"I have had a real interest in LEGO trains since my first few purchases of the Santa Fe Super Chief. (Which I wish I finished prior to it retiring) I had seen this set in the LEGO store and passed on it the first time. After looking at it again, I could not pass it up.
I had my nephew to help me build it. Well... he played with the loose pieces while I built it. It was a fun and rather interesting build considering the new shapes and configurations of pieces that went into the design of this train.
I then decided to go the extra mile and purchase a second one with power functions to have a full train. I have yet to add the power functions but will do so eventually. I may need to buy an extra motor for the reverse direction.
I would like to eventually construct a LEGO train yard and showcase this as well as other trains that I may purchase in the future.
All in all, this was a great, fun, and interesting build. I would recommend it to anyone."
