Spider droids: Episode III
" The LEGO Star Wars Homing Spider Droid kit is a great one for play, but it also contains parts that will fit in well with a larger collection.
OG-9 Homing Spider Droid:
The build itself is not very difficult; it's just wobbly, including once it's completed. The spider droid has very posable legs, as well as a rotating head with a seat on the back for a droid (this is the most inaccurate part). It also includes a rapid-fire stud shooter. I am usually not a fan of the stud shooter cannons and minifig blasters, but the cannon does add an extra layer of playability. The biggest con: the Homing Spider Droid is difficult to pose properly for display, due to the legs moving around where I don't want them. However, that's just me being nitpicky, and it's pretty unavoidable in a kit like this. Note: the upper and lower laser cannons (for air and ground support respectively) are not rotatable in this set, a little of a bummer.
DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid:
Very accurate build and a nice addition to the kit. The droid includes a transparent block on its underside in order to keep it upright and off the ground. My one gripe is the inclusion of the stud shooter. I give it points for playability, but it certainly detracts from the accuracy of the model itself (which is kinda bleh from a collector's point of view).
Characters:
As this model is featured in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the battle droid characters are pretty much necessary, and Yoda and the 51st Elite Corp are the coolest characters present in the films at the time. This is a nice cheap set to pick up a film-based Yoda minifigure, as well as a sick-looking Phase II clone. The addition of a Wookie warrior would have been amazing, but I believe a Wookie was present in another set recently.
Overall:
I'm extremely glad LEGO has switched to focusing on Episodes II and III when making Clone Wars models. This results in movie-accurate models and characters rather than Clone Wars show-accurate models (with cartoon character faces and what-not). The price-per-piece is low in this set (esp. if you can pick it up on sale), the playability is very high, and it is a great kit from the second trilogy.

Easy Collectible
" The Desert Skiff is a set I've missed in the past, but it's a very iconic set, based on an early scene from Episode VI.
The set: The build was short and enjoyable. The skiff itself was simple, resulting in a sturdy vehicle with adjustable fins, a weapons compartment, and a collapsible plank. The Sarlaac was a little more tricky. It looks great, but the mechanism used to open/close the mouth (a great feature) is unstable: it results in the closed mouth always hanging lopsided.
The characters: first of all, Boba Fett is awesome. Very accurate edition of the bounty hunter, although arm printing would always be a nice extra. ;) Han has a nice hair piece in comparison to the last edition of the Desert Skiff set, and Chewbacca is, of course, in the newest (and very accurate) version as well. The guard is a nice addition. I would have preferred another Lando Calrissian guard like the old set, but his absence is understandable (esp. since he's in the A-wing set).
Overall, the Desert Skiff is a collectible that will look nice on the shelf, work well for play (esp. the Sarlaac's "eating" mechanism), and provided fans with a number of exciting and updated characters. "
