"I was on the fence about whether to get this set or not and boy am I glad I did. This has to be one of the most enjoyable builds I’ve done in a long time. The thought process that went into designing the gear deployment function and moving elevons is brilliant and it was neat to see it all come together as the build progressed. The Hubble Telescope is just gorgeous and looks amazing standing alone or launching from the bay. The shuttle itself has real presence due to its size and is very solid, overall a great looking set that’s fun to build and looks just as good once finished"
"When I heard LEGO was releasing this set again I jumped for joy as I had missed out previously. This ship is an awesome set when fully assembled and really quite large!! I really loved everything about this especially the box art and history of the Saturn V in the instructions. This made it extra fun as my 5 year old has a keen interest in space so being able to show him the actual photos and the way it seperated on the way to the moon before we even started building was a bonus. The build itself was great with lots of new techniques I haven’t seen before. As others have said lots of x2 or x4 repeated parts but to see this monster grow at each step is totally worth it. Great job LEGO on a fantastic and educational set"
"I finally made the decision to purchase this set and boy am I glad I did! I've been looking for a set that would really not only be challenging but also not be over after a few hours! 13 days over 25 hours and I finally finished what I can only describe as the best build I've ever done...and it's HUGE!! I've mounted mine on an Efferman Stand and will be putting it in a display cabinet. The model is excellent and really captures the look of the falcon especially with the original radar dish.
If I had to pick on one minor disappointment with the set it would be the dark grey stripes on each Mandible. These aren't on the ship in the movie and from my research I've discovered they were only ever shown on a CG SE version in a book and appears for one frame in TFA however it is not on any of the studio models especially in ESB so I'm not sure why the designers chose to include this. Even the build manual which has photos of the original studio models doesn't show the dark grey stripes. It's and easy fix and only requires a few parts so I'll be changing mine out to make them all the same shade of grey.
Other than that, this is an excellent set and thankyou LEGO for giving me one of the most satisfying builds I've eve had and the end result is truly magnificent!!"

Not a bad little boat
"Not a bad build. I grabbed this set to put the shrimp boat with my Fishing Store. Overall the set is great and you get some really cool accessories like the kayak and the alligator as well as four cool mini figures. I only built the boat component and not the rocks. Only real letdown was the stickers. Firstly they came folded and creased due to the way they were laying in the box and secondly the clear backing on the brown and dark blue bricks just looks terrible. You can see the sheen of the sticker which makes it look tacky. Would have been much better if they were solid colours. This is the first set I’ve done which has had clear stickers and I’m not a fan! Other than the stickers everything else is great."
"Was on the fence about this set and finally grabbed one when it came on sale. I don’t know what I was worried about. This is a brilliant set that is surprisingly large and chunky when completed. The build was a lot of fun with the structure utilising a lot of technic parts to build up the frames and supports. The end result is a set that’s built like a tank! It is very solid once done and my five year old is having a blast swooshing it around and attacking the tie fighter. Holding the model from the rear over the wing mounts work best for him as he can use his thumb to fire the missiles. Lots of future opportunity to build out the interior. It also displays really well on a shelf when not being played with and captures the look of the ship we saw in the show"
"After talking to a friend about my son getting into LEGO and that I always wanted the big pirate ship in the late 80’s as a kid but could never get it he told me about this set And that was it! I knew I had to do it and finally get my Barracuda!! I was not disappointed either. This set is simply amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this build! Oh it’s also huge!! I didn’t actually realise how big the finished set is which just adds to the awesomeness. The finished island is absolutely superb and full of so many details. My plan was to turn it into the ship straight away however I think I’ll leave it as is for a while as it looks so good as the shipwreck. My son absolutely loves looking for all the little details scattered all over the island and is having a good time playing with it along with the creator pirate ship and my original raft raiders set which really adds to the theme. I can’t wait to make it into the Barracuda Pirate Ship but for now I’ll sit back and enjoy the completed island."
