"Oh man! This set is amazingly detailed. The AFOL apartment is one of my favourite rooms from all modular building series. Took me about a week to complete, between breaks, and building it was just awesome. The piano and bed sofa show very cleaver technics, and the roof top made with the hammers and excavator shovels looks gorgeous. It's a bit pricier then the other modular buildings, but it's understandable tacking in count the number of pieces and model size. On thing that I really liked was the addition of a small alley between the two main buildings and the square space, because when I put all my modular buildings together I feel the lack of open spaces between them. PS: I would love if LEGO, could create a modular Plaza, to combine with the existing modular buildings."
"After my mixed review on the detective's office, I feel like all my whining on the difficulty level was taken in consideration the this set "architects". I've never felt more challenge, I can't count the times I made a mistake, speciality in the ground floor build. Playability isn't in may opinion a issue in this set, 'cause all the most important parts come off easily, and all divisions have a fair space. I love the amount of work given to detail, and the laundry section it's a favourite and goes really well next to detective office or parisien restaurant.
As a Con I really have to point that for the first time I got a couple lego pieces with small aesthetic defects, namely a glass that wasn't translucide and some bricks with ripped edges. Tacking in mind that giving 150€ (one third of our minimum wage) in Portugal for a set, is not like giving 140£ in England, I felt In some occasions, that it didn't ourth it, and I really felt LEGO was letting down his standards.
In sum, and taking this particular situation apart, This is a really good set, that gave the same pleasure to build as the Parisien Restaurant."
"Well, I've built the Parisian Restaurant a few months earlier this year. It was my first Expert Lego set, and I just loved every piece of detail in that model. For this Christmas, my wife got me this set and at the end I didn't felt the same way. Don't get me wrong, the final product is gorgeous, but I feel something is missing, The build itself isn't that challenging, and taking out the AL's Wall Sign, I haven't seen any out of the box new technics. It's a great model, but if you're looking for a challenge, get the Parisian Restaurant first."
It’s a joy to build and has some great technics I would never think of. Everyone knows that it has a problem with the head joint, but it’s easy to solve. Just a piece of paper or duct tape will do the trick."
