"LEGO has introduced a new design for their house sets. They are modular now. With this set, LEGO has you build a "shell", and then you can choose which of the three house options you want to make. Each of the three different options has you use the same "shell" as the foundation. With each different option there are different window, door, rooftop, and landscape sub-assemblies. These sub-assemblies have a given place in the instructions, but can easily be switched around. In fact, I think LEGO is encouraging switching things around. This set adds a lot of versatility. Even with one house option, there are many different configurations. Overall I think this new design adds a lot more playability. This set also has a great minifig selection, and I love the price. With this price, a greater amount of kids will be able to get their hands on a LEGO house set, which are usually on the pricy side. Great job LEGO."
"I am very happy LEGO has released a new boat. I think for kids the playability in this set is nice. The driving compartment, fishing chair, fishing rod, three fish (two orange and one grey), and a Shark (which can fit the fish in its mouth) are great for play. I also think this set is valuable for AFOL's (Adult Fans Of LEGO). Including a boat haul in an inexpensive set is very nice. I do think the "Sport Fishing" sticker is too specific, and wish LEGO would have gone with a more generic design. Thankfully, if you don't like it, you can just leave it off. Overall this is a nice set, and I am glad LEGO released another boat."
"When this set first released the hype was real, and the Pizza Van did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my very high expectations. The Van is original, the playibility is excelent, and the value is unbelievable. Because this set includes along with the Van: a whole pizza, several quarter round pizza slices, a red scooter, two bottle cap flat studs, a pizza box sticker, and two minifigs, I was astonished at the $20 price tag. The value of this set feels more like a $25 set. Great job LEGO, you hit it out of the park."
"Since I wasn't able to get the Modular Pet Shop, I was very happy LEGO released this set, as it reminds me of the apartment section of the Modular Pet Shop. As for the main build (I have not yet built the others) the townhouse looks clean on display, and has great playability. The bedroom, kitchen, and TV room are all really great features. This set also has many nice pieces, and comes with excellent minifigs. Although the price to part ratio is a good one, to me this doesn't feel like a $50 set. I feel it should be closer to $40 (which isn't too far off). I think it's because when I compare the Townhouse to my other house sets (Beach House, and Mountain Hut), The Park Street Townhouse just doesn't have as much. Overall this is a very nice set, and I'm glad LEGO has been releasing a lot of house sets recently."
"Having always been a fan of LEGO and of Corvette's, this set was a must. I especially love that the car is minifigure scale. Now I can have a Corvette driving around my city display! I rated the level of difficulty Challenging, not because the build itself was difficult, but because this set comes with so many stickers. I think there were around twenty stickers and that can be very challenging for young builders, or people (like me) who aren't very skilled with putting stickers on. But the stickers do add a level of detail not obtainable by bricks alone and the car looks fantastic. I would recommend set this to anyone who loves cars, and especially Corvette's!!!"
"I have been researching LEGO trains for a little while and decided to get the High-Speed Passenger Train because of its sleek design and price. Not only is this my first train set, but it is also my first set with Power Functions and I am thrilled. The Power Functions on the train make for great play and it is really fun to watch the train fly around the track.
One of my favorite parts about the train is that it can hold a ton of minifigures. There are eight seats total in the train, and you can make other minifigures stand in the train. I was able to fit 24 figures in the train at once!
The only critique I have has to do with the design. If the train is moving too fast it will derail around a corner. I did a little research on this issue and was able to find an easy fix to the problem.
All in all this set is amazing and I look forward to playing with it for years to come!"
"The Soldiers Fort is much better than I originally expected. When I saw the pictures on LEGO.com I first though the buildings structure was awkward and weird. When I took a closer look though, it didn't seem to bad so I decided to purchase it. This turned out to be a great decision. The Soldiers Fort greatly exceeded my expectations. Here are a few pros and cons.
Pros: -All FIVE minifigs, 2 pirates, An all new Blue Soldier, The Governors Daughter, and The Governor. All of these minifigs are very detailed and very interesting. -The big canon (The small ones are cool too, but the big one is awesome) -2 Frogs -FIVE swords -FOUR guns (2 Pirate pistols, & a revolutionary style rifle) -The little jail. This is fun and interactive, what else could you ask for.
Cons: -The structure is a tiny bit awkward, possibly making play a little weird, but even this isn't really a problem."
"The Doc Ock truck heist is an excellent set that features: -Nicely structured car -Great minifigures -Several interactive parts throughout the set
Pros. -Spiderman -Dock Ock (his robotic arms can move in almost any direction) -Truck Driver -The accessories (gold, 2 moneys, 2 diamonds, Spiderman web, etc..) -Spring action web light
Cons. -Spring action web light (it shoots Spiderman straight up, rarely forward, but it is funny) -In the set I got Spiderman's leg connector is chipped (Thankfully most sets will not have this problem)
All in all this was a great purchase and an excellent set. Thanks to all of you who wrote a review. Your reviews help me know what I was getting."
"I was very impressed at how much one little space ship could do. First off, the cockpit can detach from the body of the ship. Second, the cockpit, when attached to the body of the ship, swivels so that when the ship is rotated the cockpit will remain flat. Third, the cockpit has little wings that can fling out. Fourth, the main wings can lower, and last but not least on top of the body of the ship are two flick missiles. Over all there is a lot this space ship can do, which makes for great playtime and lots of fun."
