The best kit yet
" What a fantastic kit – a very enjoyable build!
It was never going to be a race to beat any record. The Millennium Falcon may operate faster than light-speed but I don’t!
The build took about eight weeks in all, but that was partly due to the ship suffering the equivalent of the loss of hyperdrive - some Lego parts were missing.
In one case two bricks were the incorrect colour. That didn’t matter as the bricks weren’t visible, so that didn’t halt construction. The one that did was in set 16, where a wrong brick was supplied. This stopped the build dead. All credit to Lego that they supplied replacement parts within a week.
This was an incredible model with a great deal of construction detail, including some of the rooms. It’s difficult to see how the model could be improved, apart from detail in the remaining rooms.
Expensive, but the best Lego kit to date!

Better Than Tower Bridge
" Having previously build Tower Bridge (of 'Build it like Beckham' fame) I was pleasantly surprised at how much more fun Big Ben was to build. Yes there was a lot of repetition, and there are a lot of fiddly components. However, the finished item looked really good! It's a model that's not too big to put on permanent display, something I couldn't do with Tower Bridge.
The only negative point is some of the finishing trim is not securely held in place. I feel that a few redesign tweaks wouldn't be out of place. Also, it would have been nice to have a working clock to finish it off.
Overall I would recommend this purchase - you get a lot of components for your money!
