disappointing, but better than everything else
" This is still the best battery box for vehicles, but that doesn't mean it's actually ready for what I need it to do yet. I need something smaller still. And I really need it to have better attachment points. That way it could contribute structural strength to the vehicle, rather than being something I have to design around. If that were the case, I could unleash such cool little beasties into the world! But sadly, this box is still too clunky. If you're making stuff that's huge, or at a larger scale, this box is for you. If you're focused on vehicles for minifigs, this is still to big. So I give it two stars.
Sorry Power Functions team! Keep trying. "

Lots of combinations!
" This is a good set, especially for people who like cars. The three pre-designed builds are cute enough - the dumper is the stompiest, but the jeep is also nice. The real fun comes when you create your own stuff.
For the small amount of money, the mini-creator sets are portable, easy, and fun for everyone. I bring them out to play with with friends on a rainy day. I view it as a challenge to get the most models possible out of each very limited helping of pieces. This set is above average, even for mini-creator.
MOST VALUED FEATURES:
The four wheels are smooth and make for cars that roll far over tables or floors.
The hinge and two 1x1 bricks with studs on sides give the ability to do SNOT (Studs Not On Top) building. You'll see I made good use of in my dozer design (see image). This is pleasing.
The bricks are GREEN, which is one of my favorite lego colors.
Lastly, the set features a 2x4 brick, which is rare in a mini-creator set. Its nice to find uses for that old friend.
HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?
Hm, well, let me think. Okay: I wish they'd included two green 1x1 bricks with studs on 4 sides (Design ID 4733), and two green cheese slopes (Design ID 54200). These would have fit well with the other pieces and exploded the building combinations even further.
SUMMARY
A worthy set.
