"Uniquely in all my time with Lego, this is not worth the money - bought with other necessary parts for the holiday train, best part of £50. It worked fine, first time out for a few minutes of trial but it hasn't worked since. All the indicator lights appear fine and all is as it was when bought. All connections appear good. The thing just doesn't work and, when I look at chat sites, it seems I'm not the first to encounter problems. It now sits on my "no use; not worth the stress" table. A great pity, because the Holiday Train that it was bought to go with is a wonderful piece of kit."

Well-designed, clever features
"A nice set, well thought-out and very secure. The deck-to-deck accesses are clever and vary from floor to floor, nothing repetitive; and you can't build without being careful - there are some nuances! I very much liked the way the small parts are mostly all secured, rather than being left loose on tables or floors, just ready to fall off if somebody slams a door! For a bit of variety, try turning the palantir ball upside down to change the direction of the light. I think it actually looks better than the other way up when the cellar trapdoor is open!"
