"The Lego designers have done an excellent job representing Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery at such a small size. I particularly liked the tree build and fountains. I liked the hidden galleries behind the building but thought the printed tiles used for the art where a bit childish in design but full marks for having no dreaded stickers.
There are some nice techniques used to create the stairs and only gets a little repetitive trying to line up all the one by one plates.
My only real complaint is with one particular part 6167602 (minifigs neck bracket). About a 1/3 of the 24 parts supplied had a different thickness to the rest. The thicker ones had the markings 23-03 and the thinner ones had the markings (c) 2002 Lego. As these had been used to create ledges it does make the building look a bit inconsistent and a little distracting."
"This was my first Harry Potter set which is small enough to make a great desktop display from my favourite Harry Potter film. It’s a fun build and really captures the look of the bus with some great minifigs.
My problem with the set are the number of design flaws. Both the bottom and top decks have ceilings that are too low to allow the conductor to stand anywhere but on the entrance set due to his cap.
I also dislike the over use of Lego of using stickers for details rather than bricks. I’m certain a brick solution could have been found for the grills on the front of the bus. I’m terrible at applying stickers and they always bring the quality of the set and my building experience down.
My last issue is the price. The finished set doesn’t feel like you are getting £35 value, it feels me like £30"
"Lego has done an amazing job capturing the look of the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander and it will make an excellent display model with the Saturn V rocket. It was also a fun and enjoyable build.
This would have been a 5 star review but two things let it down.
Firstly I wish that we didn’t have so many stickers and only had printed bricks like the Saturn model. I’m terrible at applying stickers and you aren’t given any spares by Lego. Worse is on this model 2 instrument stickers require precise alignment across 2 plates. Also the lunar plaque looks wrong being all black when the real one was stainless steel with black text
The second problem is the astronauts oxygen tanks look nothing like those use by the Apollo astronauts. I wish Lego had made a more accurate mould. It would also have been nice if the astronauts looked like the real people.
In the future I would like to expand the lunar surface and add a mock of the lunar rover to make it an Apollo 15 lander"
"This was my first lego creator building. Building the diner was the mast fun I’ve had with a Lego set since the Saturn rocket. There is a tremendous amount of attention to detail on each floor of the building, great use of colour and clever building techniques. I also like that each floor is a usable area with good access from the other floors unlike some Lego buildings that have crammed upper floors. It would have been nice to have another figure as a customer in the diner.
My only real complaint is the packaging for large clear windows which suffered scruffs and scratches being mixed in with smaller bricks. The curved window suffered the most noticeable scratches so I will be requesting a replacement. I really wish Lego would bag these large pieces separate from the rest."
"This is a great set that is a fun build but it does have a couple of issues.
The face of Mercy is poorly manufactured resulting in a grey face instead of the white one shown on the packaging. Lego really dropped the ball in quality control.
The cargo bay for Winston is too small to comfortably fit the figure and is poorly detailed so looks a bit bland and not an area anyone would travel in. More space and detailing would have been nice."
