Great for kids, not UCS collectors.
" First off I have bought every UCS set since 2007 and this is the first set I will not add to my collection.
However I did built this set with my little cousin who got this set for his birthday. He loved every bit of the build and I could tell he was excited to play with the set and all its features.
As an adult Star Wars UCS collector, this set didn't excite me. Sure the build is always fun but when I looked at the finished product I had no desire to put this set with my collection. I don't like how there are so many separate pieces. It just doesnt give a wow factor and it looks like a bunch of smaller sets next to each other, not a $250 UCS display piece.
UCS sets have been known for their detail and this sets lacks that. The shield generator is missing the 4th section and the back of the ion cannon looks unfinished.
Bring us another display model LEGO and the adult fans will gladly be on board. "

A must have for your UCS collection.
" So I only buy the Star Wars UCS sets since I only build them to display. I have all UCS sets including the 2005 sand crawler (which i really like) but when i heard Lego was coming out with a UCS model i had high expectations. And they were nearly met! This set is much more detailed than the last sandcrawle and the playability is also on the same level. There are much more droids in this set so I'm sure young kids will like that. It is a strenuous build but i think we all like that.
My biggest complaint is that i was expecting a info plaque like previous UCS sets. Almost all my previous sets have a plaque so it was disappointing not getting one.
Very happy with what I got for the money and very impressed with how Lego was able to cram so much detail into this large set. I kept telling myself how genius they were by how they interlock the technic and gears of this set. It is very strong and stable. Very Impressed! "
