Why so expensive?
" The M-Motor is only really good if you want a really small model, which is unlikely, since it's cheaper to just use the XL-Motor! So, the only real reason to use the M-Motor is if you want plenty of small(er) motors, maybe to take advantage of the fact that you can deliver power to two wheels/gear trains via separate motors.
Still, it does have its uses, just as all Lego elements do. Probably still would be better to choose the XL-Motor over this, though. Remember that you always need Battery Boxes for Power Functions Systems to draw their power from! "

One brilliant motor!
" The XL-motor is absolutely great. It delivers above-average power and, funnily enough, is cheaper than the M-Motor! The single possible downfall to the XL-Motor (and the Power Functions system) is that it joins onto Lego Technic pieces. However, this is completely and utterly fine, since you would hardly use a length of Lego brick as an axle!
Overall, a brilliant job done, definitely worth while. Just remember that it works best when you use the IR Receiver/Remote Controller. "

Why AA?
" This, like all the rest of the power functions system, is absolutely great. However, the biggest problem that there seems to be with it is the large size of the system, when you compare it to the scale/size of most Lego creations. So, it would have made more sense to design the battery pack for a single 9V battery. Other than that, the Battery Pack, and the Power Functions System is great. "
