Beautiful set
" A gargantuan set when complete, but worth every square centimeter. The main "eyeball" has a nicely detailed cockpit at minifigure scale, so the included pilot can be sat inside as well as any other minifigures; playing with the set as a toy is great. The solar panels, too, look great and are significantly stronger than they appear. Their strength is unnecessary for display use, however, as the stand is functional and cleverly designed so as to allow full view of the ship. This set is a great display piece and just as good of a toy, and would be a good addition to any builder's collection.

Great in (almost) Every Way
" This was a fun build, with the engine and transmission being my favorite parts. The transmission has a really neat way of allowing one to change gears (shown below). I wish this had fewer stickers, but that problem is shared with most sets. The only qualm I have with the technical parts is the steering. It's loose and wide, to be blunt. However, as I have no better ideas, it'll have to do for now. The wide radius makes playing with it less fun, but it doesn't affect the car's looks, which are sublime. It'll be a fine addition to my Lego mantel.

" This set was very enjoyable to build, and, unlike some other complex sets, is also fun to play with. It looks very accurate to real life (except for a strange triangle behind the rear window), and has some cool details, such as the VW fuel cap and front logo and a very nice beach kit, along with the features listed on the page. It also looks great in photos! All in all, it's one of my favorite sets, as this is an almost perfect fusion of two of my favorite things; the VW Beetle and Lego.
