Almost a UCS type set
" This is a fabulous set. I'm a collector of Star Wars Legos and I have several of the very small speeder bikes (mini fig size) that came with sets like the Ewok village. The speeder bike has always been one of my favorite SW vehicles and the chase scene in Jedi is an all time movie fave. This set intrigued me...I don't have any of the larger Lego figurines and was curious what they would be like.
Building the set was more of a challenge than I thought. I had to really study the instructions a couple times to figure out the assembly but it all came together well.
Overall this is an excellent set! The scout trooper is wonderfully detailed and very poseable and the bike has a wonderful amount of detail and it's a great design. I would almost say it's near ultimate collectors set type detail and looks great next to my other large sets. I'm really glad the packaged the troop with the bike and didn't just do the bike by itself.
If you're a collector, this would be an awesome addition to your collection and if you plan on playing with the set I would say it has a great amount of playability.

Outstanding model and solid build
" I have the AT-AT from about 6 years back (#4483). I've always liked that model, but it's very fragile and not what I would call playable based on the build, especially the head area. Sides come off way too easy.
I wanted a second AT-AT to add to my Hoth battle scene, so I went ahead and purchased this new version. Much to my surprise, this is such a huge improvement over the older version. The build is solid. Lines are nice and tight, the head unit is solid and won't come apart. The overall design is outstanding showing lots of detail. My only gripe is the inside of the body is bland, there is not real detail in there, but plenty of room to store a couple of mini-figs. Also, I love the spring loaded laser guns...they fly about 20 feet!
This is a great set and a kid would have a fun time playing with this model. It's definitely solid enough to play with. Now...if they would only make a large scale Ultimate Collectors Series I would be even happier!!!

Outstanding model and very fun build
" I'm an avid collector of Lego Star Wars, especially the ultimate collector series models. When I heard this was being released I was so excited. I love the B-wing (my second favorite ship next to the Y-wing).
This model is outstanding. It's HUGE and so well detailed. The cockpit is amazing looking. The model is heavy and sturdy. The build is super strong and very well designed. There are some seriously clever assembly techniques in this model. I found myself several times thinking "wow, that's a really cool idea" as I was putting this together. Although I don't play with my models (I am a 41 year old adult after all!), I do think about the playability for someone younger who would own this model. I think this is definitely a playable model due to the strength of the build. It's heavy, but not too heavy to play with.
This model looks great on my display shelf. Even the stand design is really cool, displaying the model at a 45 degree angle was brilliant as it allows the model to be show in full flight formation with the side wings out. I think the price range is just right for a model of this quality.
I would say the only negative of this item is the box. When I went into the store to buy it, for some reason I thought the box made it look a bit underwhelming. Luckily I didn't let this stop me, and I think fully assembled it's much more impressive model. BUY IT! "
