The LEGO® Flower Bouquet (10280) building kit makes a unique gift or mindful project, creating a beautiful flower display model made entirely from LEGO pieces. Please note, a vase is not included. This flower bouquet delivers a vibrant display of colors and interesting shapes, inspired by real flowers such as roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters, daisies and grasses. Let your imagination bloom with customizable elements. Position the petals and leaves, then change the lengths of the stems to create wonderful arrangements for the home. Looking for the best gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions? The LEGO® Flower Bouquet set makes a special and unusual gift for friends, loved ones, or yourself, at any time of year. The stems come in a variety of lengths. As a guide, the ‘snapdragon’, with its straight stem, measures over 14 in. (36 cm) high. As the first ever LEGO® Flower Bouquet, this set includes a host of new colours and shapes that adult LEGO fans will love. The flowers are created from over 17 unusual LEGO® elements with realistic petal shapes and colours, to create an unexpected display that is sure to make people look twice. The LEGO® Flower Bouquet is part of the LEGO Botanical Collection. This revolutionary collection uses several elements made from a plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane. LEGO® components meet stringent industry standards to ensure they are consistent, compatible and connect and pull apart easily every time – it’s been that way since 1958. LEGO® components are dropped, heated, crushed, twisted and analysed to make sure they meet strict global safety standards.

Much better than expected
" I'll be honest - I got this set mainly because it's so different than the buildings and other stuff I normally build. I also got it because of the never-before-seen colours on some of those parts. Plus not one, but TEN 32-long Technic axles! I had MOC dreams aplenty. Having bought the set and assembled it, though, I plan to leave it displayed. It looks really, really good in a vase on the mantle. I don't want to take it apart and use the pieces for other things... and when I went to get a second set to use for parts, I find that it's sold out everywhere. I should've bought two of them when I had the chance. Additionally, two friends who saw the set now want a set of their own - neither of them have ever had Lego before. "

" I have heard so many complaints about this set from people (like the reviewer before me) who haven't even bought it.
"It's too monochrome! It's too repetitive!"
Well, it's a recreation of an actual building. If it's monochrome and repetitive, then blame the Romans.
But hang on... typical of Lego, when there's a set that's fairly monochrome (I'm looking at you, every major Star Wars set), they hide all kinds of fun colours inside the structure. That's also true for this set, which conceals colourful pieces in the base - including some rare Bright Green and Flesh-coloured bricks and plates.
The build itself is a lot sturdier than I expected (I'm only 1/3 way through at this point) and I've already picked up some good building techniques, especially in the SNOT edges around the base.
As for the "too many tan bricks" thing --- if you like to use your sets to disassemble later and build your own things with, then you know there is no such thing as "too many tan bricks" - especially those arches and masonry pieces. You get LOTS of those in this set, for a lot cheaper than buying them on pick-a-brick.
As I said, I'm only about 1/3 of the way through the build at this point, but it's been really enjoyable so far. Yes, there will be some repetition later, but the finished product looks fantastic (there was a display in the store). Definitely display-worthy.
Some sets are worth getting because of how much fun they are to build (Grand Piano was astonishingly fun to build) and others are a bit of a slog to construct, but the end result is spectacular. I'd put the Colosseum in that category, along with the Taj Mahal. So far, the Colosseum has been a lot more fun to build than the Taj!
