"As soon as this set was announced I knew I had to have it. The sheer size of it is fantastic but is still built in "minifigure scale" so looks fantastic next to the Fairground Mixer.
The set features some great mechanical elements, not just the way that the wheel is tyre-driven but also in the way that the loading platforms raise and lower with the flick of a lever. It certainly opens your eyes to just what can be done with Lego.
The model is clearly based around a static, theme park style wheel - as opposed to a travelling fairground wheel - which is a bit of a shame. What made the Fairground mixer so appealing to me was the way it could all fold up onto the lorry, and I'd love to have seen similar features in this set. I was wondering if it would be easy to convert this set into a fold up model but having built it I would say that the answer to that is no!
As others have said, the only thing that let this set down was the repetition in the build when it comes to the wheel itself and the gondolas. The base section was very enjoyable to build though.
All in all an amazing looking model that functions wonderfully. I hope that the theme is carried on and we see another new ride next year."

Fantastic train
"I'm relatively new to Lego, but have always been interested in trains. When I saw the Horizon Express kit I knew I had to have one (or two) and went out searching for it. I did struggle to locate the set due to it being a "hard to find" item, but eventually I managed to find not one, but two of the last remaining sets in the UK.
The detail in this train is fantastic, it really does look like a replica of the popular French train which I imagine it is based on.
Pros - Looks fantastic, great details. The interiors of the carriages are great and add good play value to the product.
Cons - To really get the most of the set you will need to buy two kits, track and 2 motors/power functions accessories. I would like to have seen at least a few sections of track included to display the model on.
Being a creator kit, the build is more challenging than the city trains, which is great. However, you do also have to be careful handling them - the two carriages fell apart in my girlfriend's hands the other day!"
