Coolest Set I Own
" This is the kind of set I have always wanted since I was a child. The only pirates set I really had was the incomplete remains of the 1993 Skulls Eye Schooner handed down to me from my cousin. I made it into my own version and still had a lot of fun adventures with Redbeard and his crew.
I jumped on this set as soon as I caught wind of its release and I'm so glad I did. The iconic characters return as well detailed minifigures with a good assortment of accessories. The set itself is huge and full of incredible detail, and while it may initially seem expensive, you get great value for the price. You also get a nice palette of vibrant colours that displays very well and it gives a nice nod to the pirates sets of old. I love the option for multiple builds and look forward to bringing the Black Seas Barracuda to life. Building this set was the right amount of challenge while still being fun and engaging every step of the way and just seeing each little detail emerge as you build it was an absolute joy. I paced the build over 3 days to really enjoy the process but it can be done faster if you so desire.
If you enjoyed the pirates theme in the past, or if it peaks your interest now, this is THE set to get, in my opinion. I hope that this brings a revival in the series so that we can see some more pirates sets in the near future.
