Enjoyable to build and a good display piece
" A very interesting build, not hard but I had to concentrate as there are many places that have asymmetrical brick placements. Maybe it could have done with a boathouse under the raised deck, given that it's just hidden space, but it has so much detail already that its a minor point.
A beautiful addition to my collection, totally different in style to the other sets and now on display.

Huge, brilliant and impressive
" I planned to buy this the moment I heard about it on a fan site. I even planned how to get it home on the train, taking a luggage trolley with me, and bought paper dishes for sorting the parts.
An excellent kit, very well thought out with some very interesting construction ideas. It got trickier as it got to building the outer panels, with so much greebling that you had to watch carefully where it was placed.
I was a bit disappointed that the gun turrets didn't rotate, or at least the gun itself, but then it would have been hard to incorporate that, given the complexity of the structure inside.
It's hard to move it without knocking something off it, so for now its staying put. Very good indeed! Fantastic doesn't really cover half of it.
To misquote Obiwan, 'these were the bricks I was looking for'

A great set
" A very nice display set. Lego, please do more sets like that this show a snapshot of the history of the cars. You've done this recently with the excellent ultimate Ferrari Garage, so more please!
As with all Speed Champions, they have a lot of stickers which isn't everyone's taste, but I have no trouble with them, as working in engineering for over 20 years I delight in fine detail of all types.
I do often find the manuals and sticker sheets folded in half in the boxes which devalues the feel slightly, but overall, and excellent set.

Amazing!
" The wow factor is huge! I thoroughly enjoyed building this set, its a good test of patience and organisation as you build one structure after another. There are a few problems though, one motor to power the entire system is only just enough if it ran smoothly, and even though I made sure the gears were free running as I built, it still had trouble running smoothly afterwards. Unfortunately, making the large yellow gear wheel in sections has meant the teeth don't match up at the join. The 'base tan' of the teeth at that join doesnt match the rest of the gear, causing it to skip at that point. It ran with the lightest of persuasion, just the weight of my finger did it.
The only other issue I had was that the tower leans forwards a lot, as you can see in the picture. I've checked the assembly, but can see nothing wrong, is there something that I've missed?
Other than those issues, it's impressive. Truly a feat of Lego engineering.

" Theres a lot of nice details on this model, but is very heavy on the stickers, given the detail on the real thing. Its amazing how close to the real thing you can get with so few bricks.

Huge! And detailed
" Great mech! Huge amount of bulk to this one, like there should be. No knee joints but then its so chunky it'd barely stay upright if it did have them. Its arms have limited posability and movement due to its armour, BUT Impressive, great style, very nice to display too. More mechs like this please, but with a bit more agility.

Brilliant aesthetic design, but with some issues
" Fantastic model, with excellent detail and big! Its a shame it doesnt have knee joints as I think it did in the film. Also the arms are so heavy they only just stay in place when moved outwards. One slightest move and they drop back down to the side so its posability is therefore limited to some degree. Some parts fall off when handled, like when opening the canopy cover, the operator comes loose. BUT, its a great display model and with some effort can be displayed in some action poses.

Excellent design
" Great, unique design, bristling with detail. I love quirky ships and planes, and this fits. It doesnt really have an undercarriage, but sits on its fins, but still works well. Lots of moveable parts and a great to display and a reasonable size. A very nice innovative model.

Clever and unique design
" Excellent! A truly unique model, with a great design and nice level of detail all through. Everything in this model was a joy to build, not overly complex but interesting and solid. Brilliant to display and cleverly designed legs that can be posed in a walking position and still keep it steady. I'd love to see more like this, more innovative mechs, and definitely posable mechs that can easily stand in very different poses. Any jagged looking edges are suitably dangerous looking for a shark design, but then has curves where sharks have them too. Great great model!

Impressive detail but not as posable as expected
" This was an impressive looking model when finished, the level of detail was very good, lots of body armour, reasonable proportions and a good build. But its range of limb movement let it down. It has no knee joints, and the legs cant pivot forwards or backwards at the hip. The torso can rotate at the waist which gives you the ability to place one leg forward, but if you don't pose it like that, it wants to lean forward due to lack of friction in the ankle joints. Saying that, you can still pose it in typical Iron Man poses to a great degree, although I don't remember him doing the splits! As a result you can only make him look like hes standing and not walking. I'd say this is a great display model which is why I bought it, but probably not quite as good for play.
