Fun figures, what happened to the classic package?
" The first thing my son said when he got one of these in his hand "it feels so cheap", which was his feeling about the Unikitty packages also. Would have liked to see some other figures/variants in the lineup, I guess these are marketed as a line not just for those with the sets for the Lego Movie 2. Surprised they did not do a Friends style mini doll figure in the lineup also, though, the retro singers are probably meant to fill that niche, even if the are not mini dolls. And where is the batman fig from the second half of the movie??? Guess we will see that in an upcoming set ;) TLG should do a video on why the packaging change, the CMP purchase experience is very clearly tied to that classic packaging, so why the change? I am glad they are uniformly distributed in each case, so no problem finding the fig you want. I would give these a B- rating, not as strong as TLM CMFs.

This is it? The Black VIP card holder is all they
" I have been waiting for the promised Black VIP card events and promotions since I stood in line, and ended up ordering online the day it was released, the UCS Millennium Falcon. Several minor promotions came around, May the 4th was a non event, Lego really missed an opportunity to do something exceptional here, after building up everyone's expectations throughout the year, to come up with this set, its disappointing to say the least. After missing the escape the space slug set, I thought this promo would match or exceed that, I was wrong. The comicon convention exclusives far outshine the Star Wars Black VIP card promo also, this is on the order of a free build at Toys R US or B&N, not commensurate with buying an $800 set and waiting months for it to be delivered.

" No exclusive minifigures again? How about a Han as Santa and Lea as MsClaws? A custom color droid? Something needs to be particularity special to pay $40 US for this collection of parts and figures. So many characters in the Star Wars universe that have not been represented, or options to make a custom print or color for those characters already in minifig form, to be an excuse not to do something more with this set. I will pick this up on clearance for $5 like I did last years edition.
