The Azure Angel
" Of all the new sets released this January, this has to be the most interesting. This set, for those who don't know, is based on the old 2003-2005 Clone Wars cartoon, specifically the climatic duel between Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress on Yavin 4.
I'm ridiculously happy that LEGO decided to make this ship as a set. it really shows to me that the design teams at LEGO pay attention to the fans, and give us these little gems as a sort of fan-service.
The set itself is fantastic. There are some clever techniques used to build the unique shape of the starfighter, and the finished ship is quite big. However, the size does not in any way affect the playability and swoosh-ability of the set. If anything, it makes it even more fun to play with.
The minifigures, of which there are three, are all very nice. The Anakin is the same one featured in the 2013 Republic Gunship, which is nice because its a fantastic figure. The Astromech droid, Anakin's R4 unit, is simple and perfect. Very vibrant in colour, and his inclusion really completes the look of the ship. The Asajj Ventress figure is probably the star minifig of the set. With all new printing, this figure gives us a really nice Ventress figure that really feels at home in any fan's minifigure collection.
Overall, this set is one of the best I've got in a while. I'm very pleased with it, and hope that we see more gems like this in the future. "
