Simply Not Worth the Price
" I give lots of credit to LEGO for releasing a new line of power function systems, but for the price it simply is not worth it. I build custom LEGO trains/models and typically use the normal LEGO Power Functions for my builds. They work great! These however I have not been overly impressed with. For me to power my new LEGO 10277 it would cost in USD $112.97 which is outrageous. That is more than what the set costs to begin with. With the previous line-up of Power Functions I could power the set for USD $54.96. Even though there is not room to fit the IR receiver, I will be willing to make it work for the price difference. Overall, I love the ability to use the new line-up without a IR Receiver taking up space, but it simply is not worth the price. If LEGO retires the current line of "Power Functions," I more than likely will not be buying the new "Powered-Up" systems in the future and will turn to alternative options unless the price drops significantly.
Happy Building!! "
