This thing is a beauty... but needs a few fixes.
" Love this ship! It is sleek, smooth and clearly looks updated in comparison to the 2012 version. The astromech compartment with the correct orientation is excellent. So good to see my droids sitting in there properly. It is also really nice to see this thing looking smoother without so many studs showing. The new canopy piece is also a nice touch. Makes me feel like I have truly updated X-wing Fighter. I also like the new color scheme. Looks cool!
The minfigures are really good and I dig that new helmet. Big thumbs-up on that piece. Great to have Bigg's and his droid. I like the grey looking astromechs.
There are a few issues but nothing that can't be easily corrected if you have the right parts. But, I have to admit that I'm stunned they are even present in the first place considering all of the advanced parts and building techniques available these days.
First, the gaping slot for the wing mechanism. Goodness, that is horrendous. Really takes away from the overall appearance. It was the first thing I 'fixed'. Not to mention that horrible rod sticking out of the bottom that releases the wings. I removed all I could and just built a piece that sits in the hole covering the wing lever. I can still open and close the wings easily and it looks a ton better.
Next, is the landing gear. Or, rather the lack thereof. Seriously, gives us true landing gear and not these built on parts we see so often on the ships. I used the landing gear from a few other ships I had laying around( a total of six pieces), moved its location further out on the wings making it look perfectly accurate. It even matches the front landing gear pieces. The ship also sits much better with this configuration and the wings don't droop like they do with the original design.
Which, is another thing. Why in the world would you make an X-wing with such droopy wings. The whole mechanism is 'flexible' and looks terrible when sitting on your shelf without some type of fix. The 2012 version didn't have any of this type of thing going on.
Anyway, it's still a great version and I think it looks great in comparison to the older ship. The overall updates are excellent minus the few things I mentioned. A great addition to my rebellion forces! "

Good, but not great and heres why...
" I am comparing this Tie version to the one released in 2012.
First, I think the minifigures included with this set are excellent and the main reason for my purchase. The Mimban Stormtrooper is soooo cool and really well done. The helmet is in perfect proportion to the rest of the figure(something worth noting after seeing the new Stormtrooper helmet recently released in January 2019). Han, is great to have in his trooper uniform and Beckett is a good addition to my Imperial army. His silver pistols are sweet! The Tie Pilot is the same as we've been seeing recently but sports some great detail on the helmet & body. Love the figures!
The Tie Fighter is a minimally updated version of the one from 2012 and in my opinion is weakly done. The best thing is the new window-canopy piece and the reworked cockpit area. It would have been better if it was smoother like the REBELS version of Vaders advanced tie fighter. Otherwise, there are way too many studs and edges showing. Also, the width between wings is about an inch too long. The 2012 version is really well done and I think superior to this rendition. Albeit a bit dated because of the pieces used back then.
I think many of us would prefer sets that didn't show so many studs making the vehicles more closely resemble their onscreen counterparts. The recent 2018 winter wave of offerings has a ton of studs showing on most sets. Check out the Imperial Landing Craft or the AT Hauler to see what I mean. Thanks and happy building! "

Welcome to Cloud City!
" Cloud City, is cool! Great minifigures and the build is very good. Sure, the foundations of these big sets are not thrilling to assemble but when it comes to the finer details of the rooms and features it is just outstanding. The flow is excellent and a lot of fun.
And yes, it's more of a playset rather than a display piece(as is clear in every photo ever released since it was announced:). Which, I think is great. It's nice being able to recreate scenes from the movie and personally I think it displays quite nicely. You just need a round type of end-table or large area to do so.
The Twin-Pod Cloud Car and Slave 1 are really well done. Very detailed for the size and nice looking. Of course, I would have preferred normal scale vehicles to accompany this set but totally get why they need to be smaller.
The price of this set is it's biggest downfall. $350 plus tax is a lot of money. Double points definitely make it easier to swallow but still...
However, it's worth it for a great set like this.
All in all, well done Lego! I love the big Star Wars sets. The original trilogy stuff is by far my favorite and dominates my collection. "

Great set at a relatively fair price!
" Love this Y-wing! Nice build, excellent figures(excluding the smiling U-wing pilot), and a fair price point compared to what we have been seeing with Lego these days.
Many of the recent Star Wars sets are waaay overpriced. So, it was really nice to see this set come in at $57(Wal-Mart). Due to how expensive Lego Star Wars sets have become, I usually wait until they go on sale somewhere. But, I just had to have this one! You would think Lego might figure out that when marketing a mass-produced item, volume always trumps margin;)
As an aside, I think that the landing gear is usually too short on most of the ships we see from Lego. It seems as if it would not be a big deal to lengthen that landing gear in proportion to the figure scale. What's up with that? "

Where is the 2nd Rebel Trooper?
" Love the set. Good build, cool ship, nice figures. A bit overpriced. Yet, if you look around you can find a good deal on it. However, where is the second Rebel Trooper, wearing the gray jacket, as shown in the photo above? I was excited to get such a great assortment of Rebels. Yet, no trooper. The pilot is nice. But, I really wanted that trooper. Is he available in a different set? "

The best Star Wars Lego set!
" I have built most of the large Star Wars sets from the last several years and this is by far the best! It looks awesome on display, the build is fun, the play features are extensive, and it includes an excellent selection of mini-figures. I wish all of the large Star Wars playsets measured up to this one. Even over the Death Star, I consider this set the center-piece of my collection. Get this before it is gone! "

A bit disappointed.
" Considering the price-point, I have to say that I expected more from this set. I cant quite put my finger on what the problem is but I just find it lacking compared to many of the other sets I have built( Death Star, Ewok Village, Falcon, Star Destroyer, Tydirium, etc.). The build was interesting as there is a lot of technic stuff on the inside and the Sandcrawler itself is impressive. The figures don't thrill me and I am fairly certain I never saw Uncle Owen smile in the movie. So, that little bit of inaccuracy irks me. As I think of it, I'm sure its the cost that puts me off. $300, plus tax, is way too much for this set. $250 would be pushing it. Compared to the other large playsets, this just doesn't do it for me. Fun build, excellent figures, cool ship!
" I really enjoyed building the Tydirium. It ranks up there as one of my favorite Star Wars builds. And, once complete, is a really functional ship for play and display. The build is solid and the features interesting. I also really like the color. A nice change from Imperial gray. It looks more like the shuttle the Emperor used when he arrived on the Death Star in ROTJ rather than the Tydirium. Which, appeared more gray looking to me. The figures are excellent. Very detailed and updated. Love them all. Perfect additions to the Ewok village. Do not hesitate to buy this ship! "

Awesome set priced just right!
" Outstanding Lego set full of rich detail! Love the fact that it is a complete building that opens to reveal three excellent levels. So many cool things from an iconic movie. And for once, Lego got the pricing right. With the piece count exceeding 4600, $350 makes you feel like you are getting more bang for your buck. If the other large Lego sets were priced accordingly, I would buy them all! "

So much fun to build!
" This version of the Falcon is a blast to build. Bag to bag, it keeps you wanting more. I have built everything from the Death Star to simple army builder packs. The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon is as good, maybe better, as anything out there. The build is interesting and the new tweaks to the Falcon are excellent. No longer does it look gray and simple. The interior is far more detailed than previous versions and the new color scheme is great. And, I must say that the completed build looks way cooler in real life than it does on the box. The photos do not do it justice.
My only complaints are that the landing gear is way too short, not enough room or detail in the cockpit, and that the price point has increased(doesn't Lego make enough money).
The Han and Chewie figures are excellent. It is neat to finally get a different looking Han Solo and Chewbacca. Finn, Rey, and BB are cool. However, I could have done without the gang members. To me, they do not really fit with this set and I find them boring.
All in all, definitely worth purchasing!
