Fair Yet Cute Gift With Purchase
" Hey there, while this is not my biggest review, I'm glad to speak out that this is a really cute little gift with purchase given out to many LEGO fans over the course of October. It was my birthday and I received this with Toad's Secret Hideaway (77907). While the price to part ratio value is low, it was something that was nice to get for free. Admittedly the $6 price tag is a bit much but it's a very cute fun gift with several customization options. (4/5). Hope everyone takes care and has a wonderful rest of your day, goodbye! "

Time to give this set some justice!
" This set deserves a proper review considering compared to other people who have touched on this set, I believe it is a very good expansion and should be the first expansion set you should go out to buy on a low budget. We will of course go over buildable figures, play-ability, design, value and overall opinion. Without further ado, lets-a-go!
Buildable Figures: For what you are getting in this set alone, it is excellent if you want to add an extra boss to your course and whomp is no exception, I believe his design is excellently put together and has some extra posability in the arms which is nice to get. He takes 6 hits from Mario, already more than what Bowser Junior has, making him an ultimately stronger boss to handle. This set also comes with a mass-able figure of Lava Bubble as while he takes 1 hit by Mario similar to how a Goomba does, I believe it should be similar to a Boo where if you try to hit a Lava Bubble it sets Mario on fire however with a star power he can knock it out and get plenty of coins. Overall well put together figures with very good designs. (4/5)
Playability: You of course get the balance bridge mini challenge from the Toad's Treasure Hunt but in a cheaper $20 set which is great for those who want another challenge for a small price. There is also a platform where you can place LEGO Mario (not included) on a platform and knock the lava bubble out which I found a cool small addition to a great set, including a shell piece which is nice to get in such a small set. There is also a P-Block (exclusive to this set) where you can have Mario jump around and collect tons of coins while moving him around and dancing and collecting "coins" in the air. (5/5) For the playability is obviously very good as you can also add it to your course and give it more depth compared to what the starter set already give you.
Design: As for design, there isn't much to it. I like how the small towers look with the flames being held by those red stamp pieces, admittedly I wish there was more open spaced platforms for LEGO Mario to jump around in seeing as this whole set is just challenges or enemies but again it is LEGO so you are easily able to customize your course the way you like it, which says the design alone. (4/5).
Value: $20 for 133 might seem overpriced but compared to other LEGO Super Mario sets, specifically the Boomer Bill Barrage, You are getting one more piece for $10 less than a set that doesn't offer too much other than a Shy Guy and a neat little challenge. The amount of plastic that you get in this set for $20 alone is fine and is a swell price for those on a budget. (4/5)
Overall Opinion: This $20 set feels much more valuable than either of the $30 sets, simply for the nice challenge, a fun boss, a cheap way to get a fire bubble, and includes a mini-boss as well as a freebie block included that amps up the experience of your starter course alone. Rounding up all the numbers, this set deserves a solid (4/5). If you are out looking for LEGO Mario, pick this set up with it and maybe the Desert Pokey. That way you can make a whole Mario world with Grasslands, Deserts, Waters and Castles, without being too large to be able to complete it and being the cheapest way to do so (unless you get the free Monty Mole promo (set 40414)). Thank you all for reading through my review and catch you later! :D "

Amazing fun with Super Mario and LEGO!
" I will go over this set and review it for buildable figures, playability, design, value and overall opinion. Let's-a-go now!
Buildable Figures: The buildable figures here are excellent for a starter course! Here you get Bowser Junior, a popular Mario enemy and an easy way to obtain him. A Goomba which is perfect for a mob army of the enemy. And of course the main star of the show: Mario! He is quickly put together with his overalls, yellow buttons, flesh-toned ears and of course his infamous cap! For his size it's incredible the technology put into this little guy. He has a light sensor at the bottom that can detect 4 colors (as the time of this review): Green for grass, Blue for water, and yellow for sand. These three offering 1 coin every 7 steps. The red color representing lava of course burns Mario up, losing his power-up and screaming for his life can easily be relieved if placed immediately on water, earning 4 coins in the process! Of course there are also small code scanners that have the ability to be read by Mario whether it is a challenge he must overcome or an enemy he must hit or some coins he can collect! Admittedly I wished this set could come with an extra enemy for instance a Koopa Troopa or something to add to the already incredible liveliness to the set. (4/5) Incredible technology put into Mario himself with sounds, the LED screen, the battery life (lasting approx. 30 hours of use), the scanner. Also the Bowser Junior build looking spectacular in LEGO form along with the well made Goomba gives more personality to the starter course on its own. Another small mob would easily give this a (5/5) especially considering the price for what you get here.
Playability: Playability here is incredible! Once completed building the parts for your course, there is no guide on how to put it together, once it's complete, you must configure it yourself which I like that for bringing in the creativity side of Nintendo and LEGO of making or building your own course which I love! In the LEGO Super Mario App there are small video guides on how to go for instance a certain challenge or how to get started on a course or how many hits an enemy can do or what the ? Block can give it's incredibly easy to get started having fun! LEGO Mario is able to hop into a pipe with a 60 second timer beginningg, having to beat the course you created whilst collecting the most coins throughout your course, it's genius! I love how you can either have Bowser Junior easily knocked out with the platform you can step on, you can have a stationary tower wher you have to manually knock him off or you can stack the towers on top of each other to give the tower more power in your level for the closest word I can think of. Even outside the course itself LEGO Mario can interact with non-LEGO items such as the blue from the carpet or red from the sofa or green from a sweater, whilst carrying along his happy expressions and exciting actions! Overall (5/5) for playability. It is excellent what LEGO and Nintendo have brung to the table for what you get here!
Design: Design wise these builds are so great it's possible they can even be used for minifigure scaled sets! The design of some of the enemies, the clouds, the trees and bushes, the small tower, the flag pole, the pipe mold. Excellently pulled off and well done! My favorite design cue is definitely the way the trees are pulled off with the pole connection and the green recolor of those round parts make it instantly recognizeable for older Mario fans. I am also completely okay with some of the blocky design of some characters like the man Mario himself. It perfectly combines well with the blocky yet slightly round asthetic LEGO and Nintendo have approached here and it's completely fine with me. I feel if there were some desert plates added it would make this feel much more complete. (4.5/5) If there were desert parts it would allow the builder to make a whole Mario world and it could also let the builder experience all 4 default terrain colors for when first engaging with Mario and those terrain plates. But the design of everything else is spot on.
Value: People have bashed this for being $60. Not worth it considering 231 pieces is about $20 worth and the Mario is $40??? Yadayadayada... but holy cow it's only possible to see how amazing this set is to not worry about the price and to see the playability and the potential for what you can do with the parts you are given. This set is amazing for what you get. LEGO Super Mario has infinite possibilities for what you can do! While the part count is low, that doesn't mean Mario counts as a .10 cent part as well, so much thought, passion and creativity was put into this thing and for people like me who love play, this is excellent for those people. Granted I think batteries should have been included however I feel that with what you get here it is indeed a fair price and a good investment if you plan on getting just this one set and not the expansion sets. (2/5) I give this price a 2/5 simply for while it is excellent for playability, more parts could have been added for that price tag however 2/5 isn't bad it's "Fair" according to LEGO. So I say this is a "fair" price, and is an excellent starter set for going into the LEGO Mario theme!
Personal opinion: I feel this set is for those who finally had their young childhood dreams come true. For people who have been asking for something like this for almost over 20 years! The demand has been pushed for a theme like this constantly and we got what we got but at the same time we did not. We expected Mario minifigures but we got something totally weird yet fantastic in creativity and play value. I think I will be having a blast with these sets for quite some time and I recommend it to all Mario fans young and small and LEGO fans looking for a change of taste and wonder about the technology going into the Mario figure. I give this set a (4.5/5) rounding it up to a (5/5)! Excellent set LEGO and Nintendo, and continue to innovate and never let us grow up from what we love! As for now take care and see you guys another time! :D "

Excellent $20 set for chickens!
" I will go over some things through this review including: Minifigures/Buildable Figures, Playability, Design, Value and Overall Opinion, let's get started!
Minifigures/Buildable Figures: Alex is an overall great minifigure but is included in much too many sets, however I notice LEGO is taking a right direction with their 2020 sets as they include custom-skinned player minifigures as opposed to the normal Steve and Alex which is super cool! The buildable wolf is very nice to get in a cheap set and three chickens with their own unique variation! It's great to get more than one chicken and are extremely massable animal builds to collect and spread across your LEGO Minecraft world. I would like to consider adding in at least one massable monster to add a sense of danger to the farm but other than that excellent choice for the minifigures and buildable figures.
Playability: Playability is excellent in this set as the doors can swing open allowing Alex to use seeds (included in this set) to guide the chickens in the pen and you can recreate an egg-producing machine in which the giant chicken build can plop eggs into the chest after being laid and that is a fantastic play feature! There is also the furnace in which you can turn on or off with those 2 printed 1x2 bricks. There are no "mineable" blocks in this set because there is no need for it, this is a farm and it does a great job with that alone! Alternatively you can use a bone in the chest to "tame" a wolf and become best buds with it! Playability is strong with this one.
Design: Printing-wise LEGO has done an excellent job with the print for seeds, the furnace and the 2x3 banner piece with the chicken on it. The new molded pieces for the chickens are also extremely well made for such a small piece as it IS dual molded both white and yellow. One complaint that doesn't bring down the set at all but I would like to mention is trying to rebuild something like this in Minecraft, the game itself would be quite the challenge, specifically the giant Chicken with the stairs that go up the chicken? How to simulate the eyes of the giant chicken in Minecraft? There surely must be a workaround for it but overall nice design.
Value: At $20 it is very much equalized with the number of parts in this set at 198 pieces, with a very much varied amount of small parts and large ones. Price to part ratio is on point.
Overall: This is a wonderful set to purchase if you also have the Wool Farm set. The chickens are nice massable builds, the giant Chicken is really fun with that one play feature and is a really fun and quick build that many will enjoy from Minecraft fans to LEGO fans to both! I recommend this to anyone who wants something nice and small from LEGO or Minecraft. "

Awesome $10 set! Odd eye placement...
" I will review this set under the following categories: Minifigures/Buildable Figures, Playability, Design, Value and Overall Opinion. Let's get to it :D.
Minifigures/Buildable Figures: Time to fly through this! For Steve, despite my bias for not agreeing that he should be in every set, LEGO has listened to their fans and has begun placing more custom skin minifigures in their LEGO Minecraft sets which is absolutely great for variety. For this Steve he is spiced up with some gold leggings and a gold sword. For the skeleton however I have no problem with it, they have always been massable and getting one here is great! The untamed wolf is an excellent new wolf type to get exclusively to this set with the new face print and the dark stone grey collar. Everything is great here except for the fox build. When comparing the fox on the box art and the fox in the LEGO set it retains the cat/ocelot mold and gives it a more cat look which shouldn't be that way. it's snout area should be wrapped around the head, it's ears must be slightly larger, facing towards where the fox is looking and it's eyes should be wrapped around it's head. I hope LEGO can either take this into account and fix it on the spot or hopefully in a future set can be fixed up. I love however the tail design as it can be animated in a way where it can swivel side to side and up and down just like in game so props to LEGO for that design. Overall minifigure selection is excellent as well as variety. The fox needs to be fixed however.
Playability: The play-feature consists of another TNT explosion which I am completely okay with as it is well integrated and hidden into the set which is great! The berry bushes can be pulled and held by Steve as they use a new flower stem piece with a pole connection in which he can feed the fox and tame it (hopefully, they are very fast!) This set also comes with one of the lit-on-fire pieces which is an excellent mold to get in such a cheap set which a skeleton can be placed into the fire-piece and the builder can imagine it burning it up. This LEGO Minecraft set also comes with 2 2x4 jumpers with is excellent with connecting it with other LEGO Minecraft sets. Now since it IS LEGO Minecraft there should be removable mineable blocks to obtain however I am not complaining here, you can mine out the stone block but that is it. This is a small and cheap set that can't necessarily carry that play feature over so that is understandable. Overall excellent playability here!
Design: Besides the fox figure, the terrain design is very nice hiding the TNT play-feature, getting 2 6x6 sand green plates is always a great color to get in that part. The stone with the snow on top can easily allow you to easily slide it in with other snow sets. Excellent design.
Value: This is a cheap set and while $10 for 74 pieces is no great price, here it is considerably understandable. It is a cheap $10 set and cheap $10 sets can be under 90 pieces. This is a small cheap set that already has enough value within it to be understandably $10 dollars and I have absolutely no problem with the value of this set.
My opinion tells me that yes: This set is excellent for everyone! Those who want a small Minecraft sets with some iconic characters and a small build? Those who want to build a whole Skeleton Army? Those who want to build a huge Taiga biome area? This set is for you! This set is absolutely worth $10 for everything that is given here albeit the fox having that cat mold bugging many. I recommend this set to LEGO Fans, Minecraft Fans or both all together!
Final score: (5/5) Take care everyone and have a wonderful day :D "

Great Value, Excellent Mobs, Odd design decisions:
" While reviewing this LEGO set I will go over the value, characters/buildable figures, playability, design, and overall opinion.
Value: I believe the value is excellent and is on point with the part count. $20 for about 200 pieces is extremely reasonable and worth it.
Characters/Buildable figures: I am a bit biased-sided on the fact that Steve and Alex are in way to many sets however I see Lego has indeed reviewed feedback in their past sets and are adding new custom skin minifigures so I'm happy Alex is in at least just one or two of this year's new Lego Minecraft sets! I find Alex's face print to feel a bit cheaper than in the past but nothing is to worry about Alex here. The ocelot uses studs for feet compared to flowered-studs which doesn't affect my feelings for the model other than it is a very well made model. The pandas are made EXTREMELY well! They can articulate their heads up and down and can get much possibility out of them that represents what they do ingame including rolling around, sitting straight up and also munching on bamboo which is included in this set. While a fish is included in this set I can't exactly tell what type of fish it is, perhaps it is up to the imagination of the builder to decide that. I would prefer taking the ocelot out for a massable hostile mob but overall great figures!
Playability: The playability here doesn't exactly consist of any play features or anything but it does require the imagination of the builder which is just what LEGO Minecraft is always excellent at providing. They include a fish to tame or feed the ocelot, bamboo for the Pandas, and easy to remove bamboo that can be used to feed the pandas. Once again something like a zombie would give the nursery potential danger to be aware of thus is why I would recommend a hostile mob for any set that could include one. There does also include a 2x4 jumper plate in which you could connect it to other sets, and with a $20 set like this it is perfect as an expansion to other LEGO Minecraft worlds.
Design: Everything here so far has been splendid on what has been provided however something bugs me and that is the design. Don't get me wrong, it's very well done the way the bamboo is made as well as the new moldings for the panda heads. Those all definitely support the design. Something like the cake could've easily been 2 2x2s placed on top of each other like in The Village LEGO Minecraft set where a square cake IS included. Another design flaw I find questionable is how the dirt under the 4x10 plate leaves a bunch of empty space. Again with imagination builders can imagine that they can hide the fish inside that hidden area, however this designed almost play-feature isn't exactly shown on the box or anything. It doesn't ruin the build however I believe a couple bricks could've easily been there instead of 1x2 cheese slopes and a black plate. The small base area that stands above the nursery doesn't feel the most complete, rather feels fairly boring in comparison to other LEGO Minecraft builds, these pieces of player build structure should be easily reconfigurable into whatever you want just like in Minecraft and I feel it is a bit of a missed opportunity to see that. I feel the base could've easily been replaced with some tree or terrain. Overall while design is very questionable it doesn't ruin the build as a whole.
Overall in my opinion I believe this set deserves a 4/5 stars. It has excellent minifigures (with the exception of Alex, but yet again Alex IS Alex), excellent value at $20, nice set to get some fairly uncommon-to-get mobs, and some odd, questionable design choices. I feel the base could be replaced with trees and some terrain to give this set more of a larger scope like the other $20 sets currently avaliable. If you are new to LEGO Minecraft this set is unfortunately not for you, it is a bit too pricey for something that won't full convince you to purchase more sets, fan of pandas? Great this set is for you! If you have been purchasing LEGO Minecraft sets for a long while, this set is great for you if you want some extra jungle land and pandas! As well as bamboo. This set offers some new for longtime fans and average enjoyment for newer fans of LEGO Minecraft.
(4/5) Thank you and have a wonderful day! :D "
