Excellent Train Station
" This is an excellent Lego set, vaguely similar to my childhood favourite of Lego set (7822 Railway Station) - so I was keen to see how it compared to that Lego classic.
It's very impressive. though it loses the stairs and detail of the cross track bridge from the earlier set, the detail of the rest of the set more than makes up for it.
It's a fairly straightforward build - the set guidance says 5-12, and that's probably pitched about right. My 5 year old son found it OK to do, though he did have to concentrate at a few places, and there are some bits that require a bit of dexterity to put together, like the connection to the track, and under platform support blocks onto the platform.
I quite like the mix of the build - you've got some fairly repetitive sections, like the building of the platform base, but these work quite well when you know you are creating a base for something else. Once the platform is built, first thing you build is the cafe, this is a great wee section, with coffee machine, glass counter facing, and juice bottles.
The other main part is the Lego shop - loved this as well - though I generally don't like too big pieces, the front windows of the shop are excellent, and the detail of the wee Lego boxes is brilliant.
The station is finished off nicely by benches and dustbins, and a wee bridge to the other side. You also get a good amount of minifigs (5), and other wee accessories, plus a small taxi, so it's an excellent set.
My son has enjoyed building and re-building a few times - next time I think we'll work together on trying to improve it by adding a platform at the other side, plus some stairs over.

Superb Lego Set
" Got this for my (nearly 5 year old) son - it's part of a fairly new range of Lego, the City Space Port collection, and thought it looked a great addition - and was a fair bit cheaper than the larger shuttle that comes in the space port set.
At first I was a bit worried that it would be a bit of a basic build, and most of the shuttle would just be large segments. However, this isn't the case at all - only the nose section is quite large - and that is mainly a practical thing - as taking this on and off is how the astronauts are put inside the shuttle itself.
So was pleased that there were a lot of pieces involved, without it being fiddly - my son managed with only a little assistance (and even then, mainly just to find bricks in the initial large pile) - so the age guidance on it (5-12) is quite appropriate, I would have said.
It's a nice detailed shuttle, in particular liked the satellite feature - nice futuristic looking addition (complete with golden bowl for the top of it) - and it enters/exits the shuttle by means of a hinged mid section - these kind of features are great when a lego set has them, as they make a big difference to the playability.
The astronauts are good as well - a big step forward from my day, where the spacemen were of the same type as Benny from the lego movie. These have pretty serious air tanks on them, and very cool looking opaque golden helmets.
Extra bonus point to Lego for having one male and one female astronaut too, continuing their recent improvement in using female minifigs in scientist roles.

In summary, this is an excellent set - a great, fun build, and a very smart looking, entertaining toy at the end of the build - highly recommended.

Good value, easy to build Lego
" This is an excellent Lego set for young children. It's straightforward to build, and a good size - the main bin lorry bucket is an all in one piece, and the other components are fairly big. Easy for a 4 year old to put together.
Also has good little accessories with it, including a couple of mini figures, and a big dumpster style bin.
A good value, easy to construct set.

Good quality Lego set
" This is one of the new LEGO Swamp Police range, just launched in January.
Always nice to have something new from LEGO, though I have to say I'm not sure I'm 100% behind the theme. Seems a bit of stretch of the imagination that swaps are such a hotbed of criminal activity that a police service is required to contain it, but I suppose the kids that this is aimed at have a better imagination than me. :)

Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the set itself - there is a main police station, 3 wee vehicles (plus a bike), 6 minifigs, and various other little props, like islands.
The vehicles are good, and have nice detail on them, were certainly a hit with my kids.
The station itself is quite good - there are quite a few positive aspects, especially jail, and the wall ready to be pulled off during an escape - that's definitely been the favourite feature my son has been using.

While it's a good set, I'm going for a 4 rather than a 5 star rating as I'm not quite sure that the value should be a little more. The station itself, despite the nice touches, could do with being a little more substantial. If you look at what I would consider a similar set (Lego City Police Station: 60047) - the same price gets you a station that I would rate higher than this.
The vehicles here are probably a bit better, but difference is marginal, I would have said.

Very good Lego set
" My son got this for his birthday, and instantly loved it.
It's an excellent little set - you get a 2 flash looking motorbikes, a good sized pick up truck, with a little trailer behind it to carry the bikes themselves.
There are also 2 minifigs, both have a choice between a cap and a cool helmet with visor, and a little podium with a trophy.

The truck has a decent amount of bits to construct, but is easy enough to do. The bikes are very straightforward, as the main red body of the bike is an all in one pre-produced pieces, so the bikes consist of about 5 pieces. Both bikes are the same, only difference is the stickers on the side.
In summary, this is an excellent little set, highly recommended.

Excellent quality LEGO set
" Got this as my son's first real Lego set, (as opposed to Duplo), and he loves it.
The set is built in 2 parts - first is the SUV, and the second is the trailer and water craft.
Construction is very easy - I was very impressed with the clarity of instructions, which was better than in my day, but actually better than a couple of other sets I've seen. You get a little box telling you all the new pieces added on that page, which is great for looking them out before building.
The set itself is excellent. The SUV has lots of bits, and generally feels pretty solid. Is liable to the roof breaking off somewhat, which is the only annoying thing.
The jet skis are pretty cool too - each items has a few stickers to add to it. The jet skis are well constructed, and the cart for holding them is pretty good too.

Easy to put the SUV and trailer together as a finishing touch - my son was well impressed with the final product.

Brilliant bulldozer
" Got this for my son, who has pointed it out every time we've sent it in a toy shop.
The set meets the high expectations he has - it's an excellent set.
The main piece is obviously the bulldozer, and it's a fantastic piece of lego. It's big and solid, and is an excellent vehicle. The kids have been delighted with it, and love pushing the heaps of loose lego we have around with this big bulldozer.

It's not too difficult to construct, though does have quite a lot of parts to it, so quite an enjoyable build for kids.

Great value LEGO set
" Got this as a wee present for my 4 year old son - he saw the surfboard and the shark, and was very keen on it.
For the price, it's an excellent set. The shark is quite substantial, the surfboard is nice (though just a single piece of lego with sticker to go on it). The watercraft is good, a slightly cut down version of the jet skis in set 60058. Quite easy to put together, not a huge amount of parts - easy enough for the aforementioned 4 year old to put it together himself.
My son really likes it, and if you can get the right price for it, it's highly recommended.

Excellent LEGO Set
" This is a new LEGO set for 2015, as part of the demolition range. I had already picked up the Demolition Starter Set (60072), which I thought was good, given the value to minifig ratio.
This is an excellent set too - the is an overlap in the minifigs to the aforementioned demolition starter set, which is slightly annoying, but with two sons, have duplicates of things isn't really much of an issue.
This has a lot more to it that the starter set. The truck is fairly substantial, and the crane part of it has been a big hit with my kids. Hooks nicely on to the portaloo, which sits on a small trailer than clips to the truck.
Truck has a good section at the back for holding accessories, and there is a good range provided in this set - jackhammer, broom, bin, fire extinguisher, toilet paper, mug, shovel, and two barriers - an excellent range of bits and pieces to go with what is already a good set.

Great value LEGO set
" Got this for my son's birthday, as he had got a box of basic lego bricks and baseplates for Christmas, which he loves building things with, but didn't come with any figures, and it can be quite expensive buying the individual opaque bag type of minifigs.
So decided to get this, as it has a decent amount of figures (four) in it for the same price as buying individual minifigs, plus you get some decent extras as well.
There are 4 figures in the box, 3 varieties of workers, and a foreman. 3 of them have specific tools (a sledgehammer, a drill, and a megaphone - the megaphone being particularly "old school" lego), and the 4th has no tools, but is for the digger.
The digger is good - pretty simple to construct, and fairly neat, but very popular with my son.
In addition to the digger, there is also a wee toilet (with a couple of leaks), and 2 traffic cones.
In summary, a great wee starter set with a generous number of figures - recommended.
