Great Set! Devastating Price... But Two in One
" Although this set, Mask Maker (Ekimu) vs. Skull Grinder (I will not call him Kulta unless a Lego official told us) is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE ($30 American, $40 Canadian) for a 171 piece set, it is still a great purchase. It includes two figures, therefore allowing kids who play with the toys to battle. It also includes the Mask of Creation. The Mask Maker has such a great look from every angle, including the back. His weapon is very well designed and has no problems. His shield is held in a great way, and it looks "ancient." His colors work out very well, until you see the translucent green/yellow brain stalk. I don't see why Lego can't make the color scheme consistent when the blue brain stalk is easily available. The green/yellow brain stalk looks fine from the front, but stands out way too much once the figure is rotated. I tried using a blue brain stalk and it looked much better. However, I will admit that the yellow brain stalk looks great from ONLY the front. His armor looks great, and makes him look "ancient." I would like a Makuta set released as well. Skull Grinder is a bigger guy with an evil look. I like his staff, but it would have been much better if it was able to actually come together and clutch the mask like Skull Scorpio. The sword on his left hand is unnecessary and stands out as a weak accessory. His head is identical to that of the Skull Warrior(s), but the small horns added can make them look a bit different. The horns look great and fits the color his feet uses, black. There should have been more friction joints added to the arm, because it barely ever holds, and the friction adders are also available. The overall color scheme is great, except for black, gun-metal grey and silver all mashed together. Finally, the stand. The Mask of Creation is very detailed, but does look a tiny bit awkward on Ekimu, but still, it fits the color and makes him look like himself. However, the mask on the stand does not hold, and it will lean downwards. You can adjust it by pulling the mask in though. Overall, a great set with parts, but very expensive. There were some mistakes that were easy to notice and could have easily been resolved but were left intact instead of changed. Still, a great set for a poor price, but you get two figures in a one set, and the Mask of Creation, so I'd suggest fans pick this one up! "

Average Purchase
" Skull Scorpio was the fourth set I bought from the new Bionicle 2015 releases from August. Honestly, this one was the only one I felt disappointed with. The mask does not suit the scorpion theme the character takes and should have a unique mask of its own, which is a problem shared by all the new sets. His legs do not articulate at all, which is very disappointing, especially for kids. The arms are fine, I find it appropriate for the set. The rib cage is in a great spot for the character. He does has some black, which I do not like. Finally, the tail is the greatest feature that saves it from being worse. The feature is excellent, and I was absolutely impressed by how Lego pulled that off. Unfortunately, the normal position taken by the tail looks awkward. The overall set is poor, but the reason I gave it a four star is because of its piece count for the price and also the great feature. I would recommend it for ONLY the kids because of the play feature. Thanks for reading my review, and I will talk to you next time. "

Very Interesting
" The Skull Slicer is a great set for parts, but it also looks good for what it is. The color could have been a little more consistent, without the gun-metal grey in the armor, breast plate and the add-on skull armor. I also thought they could have used another mask instead of an original Skull Spider mask. However, it rather makes the character seem more interesting to me to also have the same mask. I like the Mask Grabber and Swords. I didn't like the asymmetry in the upper arms and wished it could have been the same, or even without armor. The legs are great, but the extra add-ons on his feet should have been put on the other way, so you won't really see the extra weird bump. I understand he is an undead character, so I understand why there is barely any armor. Overall, great set, and a great introductory to the Villain Wave of Bionicle 2015. I would even recommend getting seconds for the parts. "

Great Buy with Excellent Price
" I was hesitant on giving the overall character a five star, but it proves worthy for the mark. Despite the white having a slight color difference and the blue eyes distinct from the rest of his color scheme, this Protector looks good overall. His weapon is interesting but does not resemble stone too much. I like his design, but the back should have gotten coverage. An ironic thing to point out is his piece count above Pohatu's. This protector is shorter, but significantly "larger" than his more advanced accomplice with a one piece difference. However, this guy is still quite cheap. Overall, a good set, should of had coverage on the back, but he is already quite large without those coverage. "

A Cheap One with Good Stuff
" In truthful terms, Gali is a great set to purchase LAST, not because it is bad. It is because the set itself is very decent and the price is great. First, Gali comes with a HUGE weapon, which is not the most feminine along with the cheap voice acting in the short videos, which I am not a big fan of. However, her body design is great and once you convert the huge staff into the smaller trident, it regains a feminine look. The mask is decent, and not the most feminine, but I would still say it is female if colors change and fit onto new bodies. The Hero Factory/CCBS spikes on the feet armor are not necessary, and I wished the feet was more bulked up and frictioned. I wished the gun metal was eliminated. The back is fine, along with each angle. The color scheme overall is decent, and I like her skinny-looking design. I would have to be very picky to find anything else, but that is it. Thanks for reading my review, and give me constructive feedback (not marking my comment unhelpful), but telling me personally will help. "

Changes May Seem too Big, but Set is the Target
" Kopaka has gone through some changes from his previous incarnations, and note the old Kopaka is not the same character as the new. Honestly, Kopaka has become wider, and more covered front and back. His color scheme now has a large amount of translucent-light blue and gold despite white still being the main/dominant color. Even though the change is an adjustment, you can easily develop into his new character. The set looks very nice even from all angles, though the back should have had more armor. The legs are well armored, and I like their new style of armoring the back and front together with Stormer XL connectors. The head is the most similar to our old Kopaka. The weapon is now a spear which somehow resembles the Nuva blades, but the shield is quite different. I like the look, but their should have been a way to cover the empty space considering there are a lot. I like the ski function like the old Nuva incarnation. His main torso is decent, but his back needs some more coverage. Overall, I Kopaka is my favorite as far as looks, but the gears and Hero Factory Paws get in the way when the function works. His playability is not affected by the small mistake and he seems very sturdy. I would have preferred bigger feet like Stormer XL feet, and the large body like Rocka XL's torso. All in all, still a great set, though there are some very minor and picky flaws. I would suggest purchasing this set first, considering it is a popular one. "

Best Protector Yet
" Despite some not liking the color scheme of this set, I find it decent. It is very complete looking, with coverage all around the character. I wished the silver pads were attached to both arms instead of one. Along with that, I wished the legs were more bulked up in any type of way. I really like the weapon despite the yellow gears and the translucent Furno XL flame blades. The head is fine, but it doesn't show a jungle vibe along with most of the character. However, I still see him having a good look overall, as opposed to most people's opinions. Please try to understand my view and not dislike just because you disagree. "

Mediocre
" A decent look overall, but it color clashes: Translucent Purple, Purple, Whitish Grey, Silver, and Black does not make a good color scheme. I excluded the Technic Six Rapid Shooters since every Protector has it. The drill makes sense, but it still doesn't look like a drill and the throwing knives do not look very nice and also cheap in a way. The extreme buff Bruizer pads are fine, but the color still makes the character stand out. Overall, not a very good set though it does come with some very nice pieces. "

Valuable
" For free, you may only get 9 pieces, but the Translucent Orange Mask of Fire is very great. You also get a map, stickers, and an instruction booklet. There is also a dark navy blue Skull Spider without the hind leg included. Good exclusive polybag! "
