An instant classic worth every penny
" The first thing I can say about this set it is one of the best sets in the last 5 years at its price point. By today's standards this set provides more building pleasure and unique playability not found in any other set on the market today.
PROS:
1) Two well-detailed buildings. Although there are some smaller pieces in the building that can make the set a little clumsy while building and a bit unstable at times, the finished product is outstanding
2) A plethora of animals and figures. There are chickens, cows, fish, a duck and plenty of villagers and knights to fill your village
3) Water-Wheel blacksmith shop. The water-wheel itself is a nice feature, but to see it raise and lower the hammer is an added bonus
4) Black roofing tiles: If you like to build your own custom creations, this set is the way to go. With over 1600 pieces it quickly provides you with plenty of pieces to get started. Black roofing tiles are not as readily available anymore but this set has quite a few.
5) The marketplace: There are quite a few scenes between the buildings including the merchant stands and the tree. The tree is one of the better trees that you build (as opposed to a pre-formed tree)
CONS:
1) Only 1 minor flaw is the stability during the construction of the buildings but that is not a big detriment.
Overall, if you have not purchased this set and are on the fence about the purchase, you can't go wrong with this set for it's suggested price. "

Boatloads of Fun
" If you are looking for a good entry point to get multiple vehicles at an affordable price point, then this is one of the better starter sets in the Cars 2 lineup. The whole set takes about 30-45 minutes to build for an expert and probably about 30 minutes longer for a beginner or intermediate.
PROS:
1) Painted bricks. I can't seem to say this enough but decals are not good for building toys since they easily peel off over time. This set as well as the other Cars sets have the eyes of the character painted onto the bricks. There is still a sheet of decals but it is very small
2) The Boat: The boat has missiles, spotlight, and a place for Professor Z to rest. It's pretty well-sized for the price
3) Vehicles are exclusive to this set so you don't end up with duplicates if you are buying other sets.
CONS:
1) Many pieces that are molded strictly for this set, meaning they cannot be easily used with the rest of your lego collection. For example the bodies of the cars are distinct of each Cars character
2) Flick-fire missiles. By far one of pet peeves of Lego sets, but they continue to keep making the sets have them, so I will continue to express my dislike of them
Although I have listed these cons, these are only minor drawbacks. Otherwise this is a great set to get started with the Cars lineup of toys. My son plays with them interchangeably with his diecast cars. "

Toy Story meets Wild West train robbery
" This st is by far my favorite of all of the Toy Story branded sets. Not only is it a fun build (I really enjoy building train sets), but it also is good for kids to play with after it's built.
PROS:
1) Great selection of figures. If you are only going to buy one Toy Story themed set, then this is the one for you. Although some of the figures are common like Woody and Buzz, you also get Hamm and Rex
2) Four train cars, all of which are compatible with City themes
3) Accessories like dynamite and a coin to go in Hamm's Piggy Bank slot
4) The Caboose. This is great to use for any Lego train theme
Cons
1) I would've liked to see some track to go with the train or a battery and motor
Overall, my son has enjoyed this train set for hours upon hours opening each train car and placing figures inside of them or using the dynamite to make "explosions". "

Toy Story meets M*A*S*H
" Although not as funny as the television show, these figures remind me of M*A*S*H. Complete with a medic, a Jeep, and 3 other figures this set is designed primarily to create an army of soldiers. Considering that the figures are based off a bucket of toy soldiers, it seem appropriate that the small set in the Toy Story series would include the army men. The figures are the reason to buy this set. I prefer the medic with the stretcher, but they are all great.
The Jeep is a very simple build. Should only take 5-15 minutes depending on the experience of the builder. The spare tire was a nice touch. For as small of a set it is, the Jeep is well-detailed. This set is one of the better sets that is geared towards minifigures over actual model construction since it is a good balance of both for the price. "

Buy it for the ostriches.
" As the title suggests, the highlight if this set are the ostriches that are exclusive to this set. For the price point of this set, this is more of a battle pack or animal pack and not much for a building or a playset as a standalone set. If you are interested in a standalone set in the Prince of Persia lineup, I would recommend getting any of the other 3 higher price point sets. I do like the Sheik minifigure in this set, but the Datsan figures in the other sets are more superior in looks.
Pros:
1) By far the best feature are the ostriches
2) Weapon rack is a nice addition and could easily be adapted to any other theme such as Star Wars to hold lightsabers, City/Marina to hold fishing rods, or hold tools for a garage, etc.
Cons:
1) Limited amount of build. The build was very simple and takes about 20-30 minutes to finish.
2) Limited playability by itself. There isn't much of a race track for the ostriches so it's not really an ostrich race set unless you were to build a complete track with separate pieces.
3) Starting gates are too simplistic and do not open as fully as you would hope.

Great set for playing, but a little unstable
" Overall this is a great set, but if you have a younger builder that you are helping, you may find that pieces get lost easily or that the pillars that hold the structure up become undone after playing.
1) Pros - Great figures with features. I love the conveyor belt and the gears included that are used to make it move. One minor flaw with the belt is that it does not move smoothly and has a jerk to it for every twist of the gear.
2) A lot of the tall pillar elements. These are great to use for City customizations.
3) The crane is the highlight of the set.
Cons:
1) Easy to lose pieces.
2) Would've liked more figures with the set, or at least another alien, and preferably a figure unique to this set.
3) The fire inside the incinerator is on loose and gets knocked off easily during play.
The cons that I have listed are only minor and do not take away from the overall value and playability of the set. A few dollars off of the standard suggested retail would make this a 5 star set. "

Great overall value, playability, and features
" This is possibly the best or 2nd best set from the Toy Story 3 lineup of sets.
Pros:
1) The set is reasonably priced for a licensed property set from Disney considering how many big and unique pieces are in the set.
2) Color - The dark green for the body of the garbage truck is on par with many of the garbage collecting trucks seen around town.
3) Size - This can be both a pro and a con. It's too big to fit into a regular City diorama since it will run your other cars off the road, because it takes more than one lane of traffic for a standard road plate. However the size properly accommodates the minifigures so they can be successfully dropped in from the dumpster.
4) Great features including a dumpster with forklift. One of the best features is that the top of the truck's container opens automatically when you lift the dumpster with the forklift, creating seamless playability. The back end of the container also opens.
5) Stability - The frame of the set is built using Technic pieces instead of standard bricks making this set much more playable than the Lotso's Dump Truck set.
6) Durability - Can endure some heavy playability with only a couple of pieces that regularly fall off.
Cons:
If you are helping a younger builder, the assembly of the frame may be a little frustrating to line up properly, but this is only a minor setback.
The entire build takes anywhere from about 30 minutes for an experienced builder, and up to about 3 hours for a novice. "

Missed the mark
" The actual build of this truck is quite simple which is great for a novice to beginner. There aren't any steps that would require adult help other than maybe setting up the technic rod for the dump lever of the truck.
Pros: high detail on the figures
Cons:
1) The bed of the truck easily falls off and is not conducive for extended play for younger children. I am constantly being asked by the younger child to reassemble it.
2) The driver is not a full minifigure, but instead a head, hat, and a dome shaped block.
3) The rubber on the tires rubs against the frame of the vehicle which slows down the truck considerably. It does not travel far, even with a good shove to it.
4) Based on the suggested retail price, the size is too small. The box makes the truck look much bigger than it actually is. If this were a City set, it would've probably been 25% cheaper. "

Buy this and rechargeable AAA's. Great savings
" This is a much better alternative than buying the rechargeable battery box and the separate power adapter.
For someone that creates their own custom creations such as trains that require a battery box, this is the way to go. This power box holds 6 AAA batteries. For about $15 you can be rechargeable AAA's and not need to buy both the rechargeable battery box and charger. The size of the box is identical and also provides the same functionality of the rechargeable. "

Improvement on a previous model
" This set was a quick and fun build. There were no challenging steps to build this set, but it was a quick and fun build. The highlights of the set are first and foremost the Pilot figure and the new droid figure. I also enjoy the wings rotation, however I would've liked to see some kind ability to lock or snap the wings into other positions similar to that of the actual vehicle. One of the biggest cons of this model is that there is no landing gear or anything to stabilize it if it is being placed on display other than a round 2x2 circle brick on the base. This can be easily corrected with extra pieces that are not included, but should be included to make this a better set. I prefer the color schema of this iteration over its predecessor. "
