Great Functions but Ketchup and Mustard Colors
" TLDR: Bike function is the best part of the build and a lot of fun to use, but the whole thing isn't that appealing to look at.
For Build: The build is quite varied, with the symmetric vehicles not being too tedious. The wings are very unique in their construction and the bike is elegantly formed.
In Play: The main split function of the motorcycle detaching works very well and can be pretty fun to use in play. Having Red Son and his overblown jetpack included makes sure that battles are easy to stage with just this set.
On Display: The odd connection point between the bike and the jet has some strange gaps from certain angles, but the rest of the build is pretty cool to look at. However, I've never been a fan of ketchup and mustard (red and yellow) as it can be pretty garish and doesn't really look great when up against the other Monkie Kid sets. "

A Pork-Shooting Pig
" TLDR: Quirky idea of a truck with ample detail and sizable play value.
For Build: There is some variety in the build, with the vehicle chassis, interior kitchen details, and the pig-shaped shooter. It's not particularly difficult and flows nicely.
In Play: This might be the first battle-ready food truck made by LEGO, and it is certainly good at that. The rake on the front is great when deployed, and the ability to have the whole thing just be a normal food truck in a city or a battle vehicle brings a lot of value and enjoyment.
On Display: The white and pink color scheme is clean and distinctive, with the eye naturally drawn to the nicely formed pig on top. The minifigures included aren't particularly unique, but allow for setting up a nice scene. The truck is definitely striking in comparison to the darker bull clone vehicles. "

Build Variety, but Can't Compare with other MK Set
" TLDR: The boat has some unique building techniques, but its skimpy nature and lack of play features make it pale in comparison with any other Season 1 Monkie Kid set.
For Build: There are surprising few pieces in this set, and it becomes apparent as the build progresses and not much substance is added to the boat. The variety of builds is appreciated, but it can't make up for the barren boat itself.
In Play: The spider web and hoverboard included help flesh out the set and make it possible to stage entire scenarios with just this one set, but with the only feature being a stud shooter, a lot is left to be desired.
On Display: The azure, white, and orange of the boat sure are nice together, however since they are implemented on a lackluster build, they aren't given a chance to shine. Mo, Sandy, and the Spider Queen are all great figures to have on display, but they are the only real redeeming quality of the set. "

Represents all that's Good with Monkie Kid
" TLDR: Phenomenal set with fun small builds, usable features, and great figures. Represents all that is good with the first Monkie Kid wave.
For Build: This is a big set and can take a while to build. The quantity of little details, build techniques, and side-builds provide a ton of value and variety to the build. It never feels too monotonous and is full of surprises.
In Play: There are too many fun features to list, but my favorite features are the openable boat, the mech bay, the hidden stud shooter, and the kitty door. If you could only get one Monkie Kid set from 2020, this would be the one I would recommend for its sheer amount of play possibilities.
On Display: It could look a little cluttered with all the colors and details, but I would say that is part of the appeal. It isn't quite as elegant as the Ninjago Legacy Destiny's Bounty but has way more play features and possibilities. It can be displayed open or closed and with all of the little vehicles many different scene configurations are possible. Also, all main protagonist figures from Monkie Kid 2020 are included. "

Fantastic Vehicles and Surprising Side-Builds
" TLDR: Stellar vehicles and a variety of interesting side-builds provide tons of play and display-ability while being one of the best of the current Monkie Kid wave.
For Build: Some very unique techniques go into building the tricycle that were quite unexpected and satisfying. The sheer variety of builds with the shop, tuktuk, trike, and truck really make for a fun building experience and makes it feel more substantial.
In Play: Split functions are a LEGO staple and it is fun to see one implemented so well here. Usually vehicles split in obvious ways, but the trike is nothing like the truck and the fact that the truck transforms into its own vehicle once separated from the trike is very fun. The side builds ensure a variety of scenarios and tons of play opportunities. It really feels like a lot more is offered in this set than with something like the Flaming Foundry.
On Display: The inferno truck itself is quite distinctive and stands apart from the other demon bull vehicles with its shape. Also, the panda on the shop really stands out and is very cute. While it's a big truck, it can fit fine on shelves lengthwise and looks great separated from the trike or joined. "

A Fortress with Presence and Room for Play
" TLDR: Large mobile base with tons of space for minifigures and some great play features but suffers from symmetric build and limited color palette.
For Build: A lot goes into making the base sturdy and much of the build is repetitive with its symmetry. The most fun I had was building the lava accents around the light brick as well as the miniature Demon Bull King.
In Play: Mobile bases have a certain appeal and bring a lot of play value, otherwise I doubt LEGO would keep making them. There is a lot of space to place figures and acts well as a mobile command center. The stud shooters are what they are, but having lots of defenses is important for a base like this! The dump truck is very similar stylistically to the Iron Bull Tank, but works as the engine for this beast of a base.
On Display: This set definitely looks best from the front, with the menacing bull-faced dump track and wheels locked together. However, from most other angles it can appear like a big, dark, square without much visual appeal. The flame additions and pink flags help, but the color accents are few and far between. Such commitment to a color scheme works well for the Iron Bull Tank but does not work as well when scaled up to this level. Also, the square footprint is rather large and harder to fit on shelves. "

A Bit Thin but Playable
" TLDR: A set with a variety of playable components but extremely basic and the least interesting in this wave of Monkie Kid sets.
For Build: It's a very simple build with not much in the way of unique techniques. At least there is variety with the various good-guy/bad-guy builds.
In Play: It can be used for a simple scene with the barrier and the bike, but the play "feature" of folding the transparent wings out to make the bike fly really makes you stretch your imagination and doesn't offer much play value. However, running bikes over ramps is always fun.
On Display: The colors of the bike pop in contrast with the other Monkie Kid sets, but neither the bike or the barrier are particularly noteworthy or eye-catching and get lost among the more impressive offerings of Monkie Kid. "

Unique, Fun, and Straightforward
" For Build: It is a straightforward build with a lot of pieces going to the opening mouth function. Otherwise not crazy special.
In Play: The key feature of lifting the bull's mouth to let toxic waste barrels out is a lot of fun and different from anything else currently on the LEGO market. The bigfig Sandy is a suitable adversary for the tank and the stud shooter included also adds action. The one issue encountered is that the turret with the stud shooter can tend to swing upside-down as it isn't fixed very rigidly to the rest of the build.
On Display: This set is rather elegant in its simplicity and it looks nice on display, especially with other Monkie Kid villain sets as they all share a similar aesthetic. Sandy is also an eye-catching figure and stands out against the dark bull-inspired vehicle.
TLDR: Simple tank with excellently implemented play feature achieves purpose without standing out too much in the LEGO portfolio. "

Over-The-Top Roadster
" This is one of the most over-the-top vehicles LEGO has produced at this price point. On the one hand, it is fun to see the design be so extreme for the sake of being extreme. On the other hand, the added complexity does not offer much in terms of additional play features.
For Build: There are some interesting and surprising aspects to the build. While nothing revolutionary, the methods do feel like a departure from some of the more conventional offerings LEGO has.
In Play: The most satisfying part is the rotating set of clouds at the back that rotate as the car moves and add visual excitement. Otherwise, the car doesn't offer much else, and the side builds are very simple little vehicles.
On Display:
the complex motor block and side intakes make a definite impact when viewing the vehicle. The car is quite large and looks pleasant on display but is not particularly dynamic. The most interesting components are certainly the demon figures, as they are quite unique and have a stellar complimentary color scheme to each other.
TLDR: A perhaps too Over-the-top roadster with fantastic villain figures and vehicle complexity but not much else. "

 LEGO Mistika: Toa Gali
LEGO Mistika: Toa Gali
With two powerful, foot-mounted jet rockets, Nynrah ghost blaster, and Mask of Water Breathing, Toa Gali rules the low-lying, muddy waters of the Karda Nui swamp. But will all her power be enough to stop the Makuta? Combine with 8944 Tanma for twice the power! Nynrah ghost blaster really fires! Stands 6" (16cm) tall!

" Gali Is an AWESOME set, but it is just too expensive. It is a lot of fun to play with. The Nynrah Ghost Blaster is a lot of fun to shoot. "
