A great set with few mistakes.
" Diagon Alley is a great set with a few missed opportunities. The good things about Diagon Alley are:
1. A great building experience it has a lot of wonderful details that are accurate to the movie and it has some great building techniques used to make it. It isn't a extremely hard set to build but it has it's moments like with the rooftop chairs (which in response to other peoples reviews are hard to figure out but I did and it isn't impossible to do so while following the instructions and without adding pieces the instructions don't say to.) Also the moving top hat is a decent challenge as well.
2. A decent minifigure selection as sets go I would say this one is above average minifigure wise. Glideroy lockhart is great to have along with florian fortescue. Lucius's face is kind of a disappointment but other than that he is fine. The photographer is nothing amazing but I appreciate the new print and new hat mold. The Weasley twin's suits are great and I am glad to have them. Molly and Ginny are nice additions but nothing amazing. The golden trio have nice new prints for their shirts and Harry's face print with smoke all over his face is great. Ollivander is reused from the 2018 gwp but as I was unable to pick it up and don't want to spend $150 on it online he is good to have. Hagrid is reused from a few other sets but that's not to say he isn't screen accurate. Draco is good and it is nice to have the new robes for Slytherin. Also the mannequins for QQS are nice to have I am glad we finally got raven claw and Hufflepuff quidditch robes though I wish they had the capes that the Slytherins and Gryffindor's have in the quidditch match set.
3. A great display piece it looks amazing on the shelf I have it even without LEDs.
4. Very screen accurate looks just like it did in the movies. 5. The amazing cobbled street it looks so nice and matches the alley perfectly.
6. A wonderful surprise inside (not spoiling it) but box 21 is a great addition.
Cons:
1. Missed opportunities for new Minifigures. I really wish each shop came with a shopkeeper but 4/7 isn't that bad (or technically 5/7 if you count gilderoy for flourish and blotts) but I wish it was 7/7 as it is I use my unwanted fantastic beast figures from cmf 1 as shopkeepers which is good enough. Also I kind of wish it included Rita Skeeter for the daily prophet shop.
2. Missed opportunities for other shops. I really wish it had the leaky cauldron I can see why it isn't happening and is a design nightmare but it feels incomplete without it and it is my favorite location in the alley. Gringotts! The set delivers for what it costs and I am glad it didn't jump $300 in price include Grinngotts but I miss it. At least their is a chance Lego might make a Grinngotts some time in the future. those two shops are the ones I miss the most. I do hope though that are more shops in the future the only one I wouldn't care about is borgin and burkes so at least that wasn't included in place of a different shop. It would also be nice to get the magical pet shop (I can't remember it's name) madam Malkins, and the apothecary.
3. Final complaint to many stickers! it looks great now but their must have been over 100 stickers please Lego in the future have some more printed elements it was painful getting all those stickers on WWW.
Overall it is a great set I would recommend it.

Why Lego? Why?
" This set is horrible. I would apologize for being so critical in most situations but not this one.
My main problems with the set:
1. 7 figures for $140. That's just wrong Lego a set like this should have at least 9. And not even good figures almost half of them have no leg printing. not one of them have arm printing. if your going to rip me off in this way with only 7 mini figures then at least let them be good mini figures.
2. Very, Very, low stability I am a long time lego builder and I rarely encounter a set with this low stability. my son tried to move it no more than 5 feet and splits down the middle and breaks. Don't you have better designers to work on this? it feels tossed together with very little work put in on your part.
3. it took me and my son 6 wholes days to build this just because of how unstable and flawed it is. it took me 3 days to build Diagon alley, 4 for the death star, 5 for ninjago city all those sets are much bigger and supposed to be more challenging. Nope. this set was designed so poorly it would beat them all in difficulty.
4. playability I didn't buy this to play with it I bought it to build with my son. after 6 days of putting it together often getting extremely frustrated in the process he played with it for no more than 20 minutes and broke down into tears about not wanting it and wanting to return it to instead get and I quote "anything but this" this is coming from a child who I never have heard him say that ever before.
5. missing pieces this I don't blame on the designers. mistakes happen which I understand but really missing 2 pieces in the same bag? I ordered replacements online (not from lego.com)
I warn you all you should not buy this set get the Hogwarts's great hall, Razor crest, or something else but skip this set and the rest of the theme along with it I don't have enough time to write horrible reviews for all the monkie kid sets I have (Only 2 others fortunately) but have been disappointed with both skip this set if you don't want to spend $140 on a piece of plastic that will never be used and is a horrible building experience.
