Kinda great, but...
" I want to ask, why have it $10 when it is only for a suit? I have to say that if you read this, do not trust that the colors are inverted, the original SMB1 (Super Mario Brothers 1) WAS a white suit and red arms. SMB3 would have red pants and white arms. The gimmick is very low for $10. Also, the track that connects the plates is super easy to break, an 2x4 plate. All in all, 1.5/10 for price, 10/10 for quality, 7.5/10 for experience, 3.5/10 for construction, and 8.5/10 for gimmick. "

Great, but really?
" Do not get me wrong here, I LOVE the Lego Mario series, but there are some problems here you should know, and some good stuff you might want to see. Con 1: NO paper instructions for almost the entire series except the character packs. Con 2 (kinda the same as con 1): App required for almost the whole series. Con 3: High pricing for a lot of sets in the series, These are the major cons. Pro 1: Highly modular. Con 4: Low amount of track for your money. Pro 2: Highly interactive. Con 5: No batteries provided (This is extremely small, compared to the other cons). Pro 3: Highly detailed, if you didn't notice, Mario can scan barcodes, colors, he has a gyroscope, accelerometer, and a lot more gadgets. "

Great but...
" I loved the first one, I bought more than 10 from the first series, but when I bought these, the update had not came out for the new series, so I couldn’t have the poisoned mushroom work and scan. I am kinda diapointed from this. I also saw that the scanner code for the gomba is the same for the ninji. Couldn’t they make a different code? I was disappointed with that issue from series 1 where the spiny and buzzy beetle have the same code and if you kill one you cannot fully kill the second. I also wish that the mystery enemies were not the only sets with paper instructions. Overall, my opinion is that both the first and second series are great, but need some minor improvements. "

Great set, poor value.
" I like lego Mario sets and this is no exception, but the set has too less for it's price. I love all the features and the enemies are cool, the set is just a little too pricy for what you get. The idea and whole set was very fun, though. "

Great but...
" I like the idea, and how you get a enemy and a tile, but some enemies have a non-realistic tile to the actual game (buzzy beetle, bob-omb...). It's a fun idea, but has minor issues. "

"Fans can add an extra, fun challenge to their LEGO® Super Mario™ Starter Course with this hammer-swinging Desert Pokey Expansion Set (71363). A great gift for kids, it features a buildable desert scene, hammer turntable for LEGO Mario™ to knock down his cactus-like enemy Pokey section by section, plus a Monty Mole figure to defeat and collect virtual coins. (Note: LEGO® Mario figure is not included; find it in the Adventures with Mario Starter Course 71360.) App fun A free LEGO Super Mario app is available for this unique toy. It has cool, zoom and rotate viewing tools to help build the module, suggests other creative ways to build and play, and offers a safe platform to share creations with friends. Real-world LEGO Mario action! Great for group competitions or solo play, collectible LEGO Super Mario toy playsets bring a family-favorite character into the real world. The Starter Course, Expansion Sets and Power-Up Packs allow fans to customize their own levels for unlimited creative fun."

Great set, but really pricey for what you get.
" I like this set because you don't have to have Lego Mario to interact with this set. The downside of this set is the online building instructions because I find paper instructions easier. "
