"This is a really great addition to the LEGO Marvel Mech family certainly, but it is a little more fragile then say the Spider-Man one. I love the blue webs and the minifigure that comes with it is new so there is great value there. Plus no stickers, though they may have added some additional detail and flare, it's still a good set. I wouldnsay at normal price of 9.99 its a little expensive per brick (about 8 cents vs normal being 6-7 cents per brick as MSRP). But not so much that I would say to stay away at the normal price. I say pick this one up if you like mechs or marvel or Spider-Man."
"This is a great set for the MSRP price! 3 levels including a Blacksmith's forge with extra armor and swords a couple anvils and a fire with lighted brick. There is a lot of extra detail from the wood grain on the door (not a sticker) to the wood pile under the stairs. In fact, there is not a sticker in site on this entire build. The apple tree has a target on the back and a well beneath it. Up the stairs on the outside is the house, second floor is the kitchen/dinning room with a stove and a table and chairs plus a keg for their "juice" and even a cutting board. Up the stairs on the inside is a bed for two a bear skin rug and a writing desk plus a bunch of little hints of a great adventure that has happened or will happen. The roof easily removes for the access to this level and in fact each level comes off easy to get inside for imagine play.
This set comes with 4 minifigures, the smithy and his wife (an archer) and two knights. Additionally a dog and a horse, the horse is articulated as well. The cart that the horse can pull is nicely built as well.
AND as I had mentioned above, no stickers at all in this set! Amazing detail, no stickers!
I really can't say enough good about this set, so I will force myself to do a couple of criticisms. First, the second level when removed does have some very delicate parts on the side that if touched the wrong way will break off, not an issue when put together with the bottom level though. And I wish the lighted brick would go all the way up the chimney, or additional lighted bricks added, but the chimney is blocked from one level to the next. And last... the brown color... I have had constant issues with this brown color breaking and unfortunately for me, I have been black listed from ordering replacement parts online. However, the LEGO group is also the best over the phone customer service I have ever experienced as well.
"I set this review at 5 stars as having a 4 year old and this set being for 4 year olds, he loves it. Spider-man is his favorite hero so that helps, but he loves playing with it! The sandman base is unique and a neat way to have him set up. The catapult is a little odd as is spider-man in a car, but its things that little kids love. Put a video review on here too that mentions 4 stars for adults as there are some minor complaints, but if buying for a young child, you won't be going wrong here.
Easy to build with minor assistance as well. (Though keep in mind my 4 year old has been helping in building all ages of sets for about a year now.)"
"I want to start with the fact that I love this set, however there are some glaring issues with it that cause me to give it a lower score than you might this with that opening. I would give it 3.5 if I could, but I rounded up. I could see this as amazing if you have a city on a table, but try to play with it on the carpet and you will spend more time mending it than playing with it. This can be remedied by adding some bricks to the bottom, but they are not really fully made for that. Would be nice if there was a groove to put them in. Though you could put them on a large plate (like you see in my pictures). What that all boils down to is the fact that though you could fix the issue, it would take a lot of additions to do it.
The set is an amazing price and has some unique parts that I love like the glow in the dark bricks and the street signs. Also, if I ever do create a city on a hard table I will most likely get a bunch if these for the roads. But till then, I'm gonna figure out the most cost effective way to use this on carpet."
"What can I say, this set is cute. For the price, this set is a great deal too! I know that by the time you can buy this, Valentines day will be over, but guess what? This would be a cute gift for Mother's Day, or a gift for a significant other that loves LEGO. There is a cute hidden easter egg you get to see when building this set as well. A couple small tweaks I would have changed about the set and instructions don't match the picture on the box, but that's a minimum."
"I love this set, in fact the mech sets in general have been really great value for their money and highly giftable. I would caution the age on this at 6+ is about right, my 4 year old loves playing with it but with the smaller parts and stickers that come with it, not something he can build without a lot of help.
This is an easy build for an adult or I would think an older child (with some help for the stickers). I gave this build 5 stars and think that even at full MSRP price you are good to buy this set."
