The dark arts of Lego
" I have built several large Lego sets by now but this was my first Lego art set. Let me tell you, it is easier to put together than I was expected. You don't need to constantly count studs or take a look at the instructions every second. Fill it with one color at a time and you will get almost meditative experience. Lego art as a concept works for sure, but how about this particular set?
There are a couple of issues with this set. Let's tackle the podcast first. Since the podcast is advertised with the set, is displayed on the box and included in the instructions, I look at it as a part of the product itself. The podcast is 1 hour long, while it takes about 3 hours to build one crest, so you won't be able to listen to it through the whole build time. The content of the podcast is fairly interesting for anyone interested in the Wizarding world of Harry Potter. However, one of the participants has recorded his answers in a noisy environment (you can hear people talk in background and some general office noises) which feels unacceptable for something that meant to be a part of an experience sold for money. Only the best is good enough, Lego?
Now let me address the crests themselves. The designer was aiming at 18+ audience (despite the fact that Harry Potter books originally were written for kids and teenagers). As a result, the designs are more medieval than magical are barely recognizable as something from Harry Potter. I think, Warner Brothers have noticed that too, therefore, have offered the designer to add the items (the sword, the locked etc) to the crests to make it more Harry Potter (the designer tells us about it in the podcast). Another thing that brought it down is the goal to make all 4 crests from one set. It works fine for Iron man, Star Wars and even Mickey (since the color schemes across the different variations are similar) but it doesn't work with Hogwarts crests. After building the Gryffindor set I have one sealed bag of green studs (Slytherin) and another for blue (Ravenclaw) stund. There is a big leftover of silver and grey studs too. I paid for those but won't ever use them if not planning to take it apart and build another variation. You will run into the same issue with any of the 4 crests. No red, blue and almost no gold is used in Slytherin, no gold, red or green in Ravenclaw etc. There could be two separate sets: Gryffindor + Hufflepuff and Slytherin+Ravenclaw. This would allow to add more diversity to each crest (since you don't need to think about squeezing all 4 of them) and reduce the price of the sets by at least 30% (judging by the leftover pieces). As it is at the moment, the set is jack of all trades, master of none. The only reason I have decided to get it is to see if I am into Lego art, and if I do, to get 3 more to make the complete Hogwarts crest since it is the only design which truly stands for Harry Potter.
To conclude, the building experience is meditative, the podcast is short but fine, the final build is sturdy and well sized, the main designs lack magic and there are too many leftover studs. "

Mando & the Child
" Brickheadz are cute, baby Yoda is cute, Brickheadz baby Yoda = cuteness overload. If you have seen the show, you will get the set. If you have not seen the show, go watch it and come back for the set. When you know what the set represents getting it is inevitable ^^ "

Your dream house
" This set combines everything I love about Lego Ideas sets. It has the love and the attention to details of the fan designer and the polish of a professional Lego designer. The set is big, sturdy, looks amazing as a display piece and has great playability. The only thing I can complain about are the instructions. There is one place where a building technique is so unusual that I had to check the other reviews to get it right (the instructions should have been more specific). The other thing is that the wood is represented by lighter and darker brown pieces. If you are not working in ideal lighting conditions or have a slight color blindness, you might find it tricky to distinguish between the two colors in the instructions (the pieces themselves are different enough). Highlighting the darker brown with a white outline (as it is done with the black colored pieces) would make it much easier to distinguish. Overall, building the cabins was very enjoyable and I am very happy with the final result. Lego, please stop making such great sets, I am running out of space ^^ "

"I’ll get yer an owl." - Rubeus Hagrid
" It is Hedwig. She is carrying a letter from Hogwarts and moves her wings in an elegant way. What else can a Potterhead want? Hedwig is permanently attached to the holder, therefore, the set is not very swooshable and is mostly a gorgeous display piece. The gear mechanism that makes the wings move gives the set a more advanced flavor but is not complicated to put together. If you are here reading this review, you should get the set :) "

Night at Hogwarts
" This is a brilliant Lego set and a must in any true Potterhead's collection. Kudos to Lego designers and the whole Lego team for making the magic real.
If you are looking for something to play with the minifig scale modular Hogwarts sets are the way to go. However, if you are looking for a complete displayable package you should look no further.
Even at the micro scale the castle is huge and truly impressive. I had to build a special shelf for it because it won't fit on a standard one. You will need something more like a tabletop to properly display your Hogwarts. Considering this is the second biggest Lego set ever, I don't think it could be done with more details without making the size and the price of the set unreasonable.
The build was easy and fun. There are 37 numbered bags + some extra bags with large pieces. Each bag takes about 1 man hour to be built (if you take your time to enjoy it as I did). Limit yourself to one bag per day (trust me it is a difficult thing to do) and you are looking at a month of magic at Hogwarts.
I wanted to have a night at Hogwarts, therefore, I have installed a lighting kit on mine. The lights turn on automatically at night. Although the final result is impressive, I wish there was an original lighting kit from Lego. The installation process of the third party lighting kit could not hold a candle to the smooth Lego building experience.
I think this is one of the sets which will greatly increase in value with time. Don't miss your chance to have your own Hogwarts :) "
