Great introduction into Lego Technic
" A little about me at first, I am an avid car enthusiast and I have just started building and painting plastic model car kits. This has been my first Lego set in years. I wanted to try Lego Technic for its moving mechanical components as opposed to the curbside plastic models I glue and paint. I saw this Chevy Corvette and thought why not try it out (as it was cheaper than all other Technic car sets) and its colour is really eye popping. I read all the reviews on this particular model and despite some of the negative feedback, I decided to purchase it.
The build experience was a pleasure to the point that I was pacing myself and doing a bit each day to stretch it out over a week and building my corvette was my favourite part of the day to look forward to. The mechanical components like the V8 engine and rear differential assembly were incredibly fun to build.
The model itself after being completed resembles a Chevrolet Corvette pretty accurately. Keyword here is resembles... If you are looking for a model replica of the Corvette, look into buying a plastic model kit, not this kit. With what pieces Lego had provided with this kit, I think they did an excellent job.
This model now stands beside my other plastic model kits and I will be purchasing other Technic sets after this fun experience.
