Rare misstep for the Friends theme
" It's strange to see a friends shop be released in this state, it just seems unfinished. All the other shops from the theme are a lot better designed and more fun to play with, at least in my opinion.
I don't really like the design of the shop's facade, it seems kind of flat. The sign is nice, but the rest of the roof is generic for this theme. The inside doesn't have a whole lot to it. There's a nice chocolate fountain build, a rotating table, shelves and a balloon stand. There's nothing new here to buy though, if you have any of the Friends party sets you'll have a present, a balloon and party hat. The only things you can buy here besides that are a crown, chocolate and a wand, which aren't rare pieces.
There's no cakes or gifts to buy for the party (toys, mugs, cakes ect.), so the playability is really limited.
I don't mind seeing Stephanie again, but Laurie is completely ridiculous. I hate when we see the Friends faces on other characters. Each of the girls come in five sets alone this year, it's not fair to young girls have so many of the same face when there's so many variation in minifigure faces in themes like Ninjago and Nexo Knights. Laurie takes it one step further and reuses Andrea's hair, I would've taken virtually any other hair piece than one of the main girl's, but nope. Her outfit is cute, though it's nothing new. There's no animal included here, which is weird for a party set.
The price for this is also completely ridiculous its £24.99/€29.99 for 176 pieces, none of which are new moulds or exclusive recolours. Usually sets with poor price to piece ratios have new recolours of pieces, new moulds, exclusive figures and they're licensed, but this has none of those factors.
I'd honestly recommend any other retail Friends set over this. You just don't get your money's worth here, which is such a shame because in nearly every other Friends set you do. The Friends theme has many amazing sets to offer, this just isn't one of them. "

An Aladdin set without Aladdin
" I don't understand it, I really don't. Why does the Disney Princess theme get a pass for accuracy unlike other licensed themes? Why does it get to include less characters?
This Jasmine mini doll is fantastic, except for one detail. Her skin colour is off! LEGO actually has a color for this skin tone (called Nougat), it's high time we see a new mini doll skin colour for little girls who do have a similar complection recreate themselves in LEGO form. Also the only other character included is Rajah and he's not even adult sized. Yep there's no Aladdin in an Aladdin set. The magic carpet and genies lamp are even included! Why would you bother including these without the hero? Heck why would you include Genie's lamp without Genie it just seems weird. To make things worse there's also stall also included, so I guess Jasmine has to buy the perfumes from thin air. We all know if this was a minifigure based set the characters would be included, so why can't a mini doll set get the same treatment?
The palace is really just a handful of bricks and a cushion for an interior, not really anything for playability.
The fountain and magic carpet are really nice builds, but they don't demand for the set to be bought.
So unless you really want a darker Jasmine and a magic carpet, I'd recommend buying Elves or Friends sets instead. "

A lackluster build with decent figures
" This set doesn't seem like a LEGO set, it puts characters in front of the build.
The figures for the most part are really nice. I really like Cogsworth's build and the same goes for the Wardrobe. I was impressed to see Lumiere and Fifi had prints, same goes for Mrs. Pots and Chip. The addition of Chef Bouche really puts this above and beyond. It's so refreshing to see so many characters included in a Disney Princess set.
The Beast's new mould is fantastic and looks just like him. I like his torso and legs too, I don't mind they're not accurate as it allows him to be transformed into the prince. The Beast's human face is a little strange looking, though I am happy they decided to include a new one.
Belle looks really good, but there's one thing off. She doesn't have hazel eyes! Now I wouldn't be so angry if there was another mini doll with hazel eyes, but there isn't. Instead we have Olivia's face (which has appeared in like 30 sets), which features amber eyes (LEGO calls this colour Nougat). LEGO does have a hazel colour too (they call it Olive Green) which would've worked perfectly. It's a shame that nearly after five years of mini dolls we still don't have grey and hazel eyes, this would've been a perfect opportunity to include it but they didn't. I do like Belle's dress and I'm so happy she received a new dress mould, but the lack of hazel eyes really
It would've been nice to see Gaston and mabye have substituted
Bouche for him or even have just upped the price.
The set itself isn't really anything to brag about. The design of the castle is okay, it looks fine from the front except for the colour scheme.
The colour scheme is really off. While I'm disappointed they chose dark red and lavender over gold and white, I wouldn't have minded if they went full on but they didn't. There's random pieces of grey, white and then that tan window which all stick out like sore thumbs!
The interior is a joke, there's; a bed, a turntable for a dance floor, a single book for a library, a portrait of Beast and a small section for the mirror and rose jar. All of these builds are simple and just boring. I guess I like the portrait of the Beast, but even that's mainly because of the sticker. I do however like the chandelier build at the top, but that certainly does not save the set.
Belle's bedroom had so much opportunity and the fact you can't even fit the wardrobe there is rather ridiculous in my opinion. The fact that the library only consists of a shelf is insulting. The fact that the dining room only consists of an outside table and no chairs is disheartening. The fact that the ballroom which was so grand in the film has been reduced to a turntable is sickening.
I know this may seem like I'm denigrating the set, but I think it's warranted. I honestly don't think it's fair to recommend this set, the exterior build is okay and the interior is a mess. Yes the characters are lovely (apart from Belle's face), but even then you don't get Gaston. I'd only recommend this set if you specifically only want LEGO versions of these characters, otherwise I suggest checking out Elves and Friends where the sets are almost always good and sometimes amazing. Disappointing
" I love LEGO friends, I really do. I think the majority sets from the theme are fun and a handful of sets are innovative! However this is not one of those times.
While it is great for those who don't have Maya or Kate (I'm sure most people have Liza's hair and face), for us hardcore Friends fans there's nothing new. 853544 LEGO® NINJAGO™ Accessory Set has several new prints and an additional character for the same price. The fact that we have no new camp prints is really frustrating, especially since we only have four camp torsos, which itself is ridiculous.
We have five friends surely they all deserve their own torso? Liza's torso here is shared by both Mia and Emma while Maya's torso has been used by Stephanie and Olivia. Then the leg pieces have appeared in so many sets. I'm not saying everything had to be new, but an exclusive torso or shorts piece would've been lovely and would've have made this set worth it.
The build is simple and not really anything special, it can be put together in a matter of seconds.
Like I said before it would've been nice to see an additional character, even an animal would've been nice like the fox, grey bear Blu or even the eagle Elvis. On a side note its kind of a shame there was no boy included, seeing how there's no boy in any of the camp sets.
I hope to see more love put into revolving purely on mini doll in the future. "

Surprisingly fantastic!
" I love this set! It's such a bizarre idea for a LEGO set, a giant hotdog on wheels but the execution is perfect!
I adore this van! It's great to see hot dog buns be introduced finally too. The awning really sets the location of the set and it somehow makes a giant hotdog on wheels realistic. I love the addition of lights underneath too! I think the cash register should've been facing in, but that's only a nitpick. The counter for the hot dog area is large and long, so you can add a condiment to your hotdog while another mini doll orders. The counter of the van is also low down, I know a few people who hated the LEGO Movie's ice cream truck for having a counter so high up. I'm not fond of the bottom floor of the van its kind of a mitch match of colours, though it's not really noticeable from the outside, but when your cooking some of the sausages you'll notice! The grill itself is really simple though I don't think an intricate build was necessary either. The seats inside the van are white, which fit fine in my opinion. There isn't a door to the van just a ladder that can be lowered down to allow a passenger or "chef" in. Speaking of the ladder it leads up to the roof, which looks like a tiny little diner.
I adore the side builds too. The hot dog sign isn't really a build, but it is still nice and I love the use of neon lights. The chairs are also really simple, but upside down building is such a joy for me. :P
The mirror is also nice, I like how it's applied onto a curved brick. If your like me and your not good at applying stickers, here it looks better if the mirror is crooked..funhouse mirrors!
The camera is an okay build, I'm not sure about those colours. I do like how it's an old school camera and they didn't just use a phone. I love the sticker for the photo, it's fantastic!
The carnival cut out is so simple, but so effective! You just put your mini dolls on the studs behind the wall and have them face the camera. These carnival cut outs are really common in real life, so it's a treat to finally get one in LEGO. I know the build is nearly non existent but the sticker is just so darn perfect! I love the use of a sailor and a mermaid as now it can work on beach or peer related MOCs too! I can't get enough of this and I'm sixteen!, I can only imagine what the kids who play with this are thinking!
I really like the mini dolls in this set. It's the only amusement park set with interesting figures.
Stephanie's head, hair and legs are not new. Her legs are now dual moulded! Strangely Nate's aren't, it's weird that they're making around half of the mini doll leg pieces dual moulded and leaving the rest even the new ones. I love how they brought back her sun visor piece, I'm sick of the gang's regular hair at this point. :P It would've been great to see the visor be recoloured but we can't have everything. I really like her employee torso, it's simplistic but still unique.
Nate is basically Noah with a different hairpiece and new legs. The new trouser mould features pockets at the ankles and on the bottom. I'm not sure what the purpose of ankle pockets are, but then again my skirts don't have pockets so I don't use pockets in general. :P The hot dog suit is a lovely inclusion, but unfortunately it doesn't fit around Nate's mouth. There is somewhat a benefit to this as you can exaggerate how it's hard to speak and breath in those heavy suits.
It is strange there's no customer, but I guess Nate can double up. The hot dog suit is really just a bonus.
"
I would recommend this to a friend!
