"I was so excited when I saw this Set was coming out as I don’t have the old UCS Millennium Falcon, so I knew I had to get this, it was a very long and excruciating wait for it to become available but I was lucky enough to get one and oh my was it worth the wait!
First of all the box is so heavy it had to come with wheels! The box art is amazing and so classy, even the four boxes which you get inside are decorated like a Blu print for the Falcon and it’s that attention to detail which makes these sets so special.
The instruction manual is more like a huge catalogue but again the artwork is beautiful and it comes with pages and pages of information about the Falcon and in itself is a really cool collectors item.
The minifigs are really cool in this set, it includes C3-PO, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo (young and older version), Rey, Finn, BB8 and you also get two Porgs. However I also love the fact it includes a buildable Mynock which is the first time ever one has been included in a Lego set!
The build itself was incredibly long and very full on, it took me about a month to complete it as I wanted to really take my time and enjoy the build, it wasn’t particularly difficult but it just kept on going, and going and going, which was great as it was such a fun build, there wasn’t any part of the entire build which felt repetitive or dull, there are some really cool building techniques, there were parts which were quite fiddly and awkward especially when building underneath and you do have to be careful because it is just so huge that it can be knocked easily, I highly recommend building this on a very large table or surface area.
There are a couple of areas where you can remove the top and see into the interior, one which includes the dejarik holographic board and another which includes a couple of escape pods. There are some awesome printed pieces including the satellite dish, the dejarik holographic board game and a couple of window pieces aswell.
Another cool part of this set is you can choose whether you want your Millennium Falcon to have the original trilogy look or the look from the Force Awakens/The Last Jedi, you can do this simply by changing the satellite dish.
All in all this is easily a 5/5, really a 10/5, I couldn’t recommend this highly enough, for avid Lego Star Wars collectors it’s a must, there aren’t many play features in this set as it is definitely more of a display piece, and even though it is very pricey it is well worth the money.
"This has to be one of the greatest Lego sets I have ever bought, this is phenomenal, first of all the box art is possibly the best I have ever seen for a Lego set (Apart from the Saturn V), it is so cool and striking, it is different and the box art and instruction manual art is something which I.m very pleased to have in my collection.
Now for the build, It was so much fun, wasn't particularly difficult and the amount of detail is exceptional, There are very few Lego sets which I have had more fun building. Both kids and adults could manage this build as there aren't many parts which are too tricky, its so cool putting together certain sections and adding all the really cool little details, which is what I love most about this, this set includes fishing rods, harpoons, oars, printed fishing hooks, a cash register, a lamp, printed money, printed post it notes, oxygen tanks, diving helmets, a printed map and a printed painting of a ship, plus much much more.
This set is so cool from both the outside and the inside, the store opens up simply by removing the roof and the end wall is hinged so opens up easily, the inside is very crammed and busy looking, but that really works as it is very realistic for an old fishing store like this, you also get a little office which includes a desk, lamp and chair, plus a viewing balcony with a telescope which is a fun mini build on its own.
This old fishing store also comes with some really cool minifigures as well as some really cool animals including, sea gulls, lobsters, spider, fish and crabs.
I would give this set easily a 5/5 and would recommend this to everyone, it is a fantastic build and the finished model is absolutely exceptional, you really need to see this in real life to appreciate how good it looks, its a fantastic addition to anyone's collection, I think it is definitely worth the price and if you can afford it then definitely get it, you wont regret it!"
"This is one of the coolest Lego sets I have ever bought, the build was really fun and wasn't particularly challenging, i spread it out over the course of 3 days but was probably around 4 hours of actual building time.
I love this set and would highly recommend it to anyone as it has both play value and looks good as a display piece, it can be placed on a shelf and not look out of place next to UCS sets which is what I have done. The exterior of this model is really cool from all angles, but for me the best thing about this set is the interior details, there is so much packed in to this and there is also plenty of room to place your minifigs, in some sections you can easily place at least 3 minifigs and create some really cool scenes.
You get some really good minifigs with this set, the biggest draws for me were the inclusions of Emperor Snoke, BB-9E and the tiny microfigure scale hologram.
I would give this set 5/5 as it is fantastic value for money, you get a cool looking model which can be displayed, however you also get a really cool play set, so this can appeal to both children and older builders, you also get some really cool minifigs."
"This was the first Architecture skyline set I ever bought and it was a great introduction to the line, I thought it looked really cool and Chicago is a city I've always loved.
The build took me about half an hour and there were a lot of interesting building techniques involved and the end product looks fantastic, its a lot bigger than I expected it to be from the pictures I had seen!
This looks great on a desk or any kind of work top space, and this slick, smart Chicago skyline has definitely made me want to get more to add to it, definitely worth buying if you're a fan of Lego architecture and is also a good one to get if its your first time buying a sky line set, good value for money and the end product looks really cool."
"This is a really cool little set, you get a couple of great minifigs aswell as a small Porg which is easily put together. The build itself took me about 40 minutes and that was with me taking my time, so it doesn't take too long at all to build, however the whole process is really good fun and makes a great little scene.
There are a couple of play features included in this set, you can make one section of the wall fly away with a small hidden flick mechanism, aswell as a spinning boulder which opens up, you get a fabric door which looks really good and the whole interior is really nicely done, even though it is small you get quite alot of detail crammed into this set, it also comes with a bonfire, a fold away bed and a small kitchen area!
The main draw to this set for me was the minifigs, as you get a really awesome Luke Skywalker which I wanted to add to my Star Wars minifig collection, as well as a Rey minifig which also looks really cool and is another great character to have. It's nice that you get a little Porg figure with this set as its a much cheaper way of getting one as the only other set this comes in is the new Millenium Falcon (as far as i know), so its great to get one of these too.
So overall I rate this 4/5 as its a great little set, great value for money, a cool little build, looks good on a desk or anything like that, some cool minifigs and it can work as either a little display set or has many play functions.
"I was so excited when I saw that the Taj Mahal set was being re released as I never had the chance to get the original of this legendary set, up until the 2017 Millennium Falcon was released this was the largest Lego set ever made, so I knew I had to buy this and have it in my collection!
Firstly this is not a 'new' set, it is a re release of the old creator Taj Mahal and from the research I've done there isn't anything different about the two other than the box art and a couple of sections in the building process are in a different order, so if you're like me and don't have the original then I strongly recommend you buy this, but if you have the old one then there isn't really much point in getting this one, especially at the price it's at.
This set took me 3 days to build and it was pretty full on but still enjoyable at the same time, the vast majority of the build was repeated 4 times as it has to be cemetrical. The build isn't overly difficult for adults or older kids but young kids will probably need help from a parent. Even though a lot of the build is repetitive it doesn't get boring at any point and you really feel like you've accomplished something once it's complete as the end product is truly magnificent!
I was shocked at how huge the finished model is, it is absolutely beautiful and has a real presence in a room, it is definitely a set I would 100% recommend as it is a fantastic addition to anyone's collection and is a beautiful Lego construction of one of the 7 wonders of the world!
"This is a great little set, build only took me roughly half an hour however the build was a lot more fun then I expected it to be, in this set you get three separate small builds and four mini figures Margaret Hamilton, Mae Jamison, Sally Ride and Nancy G. Roman.
The first build is of Margaret Hamilton and its of a black board with printed diagrams and a stack of books, you also get a small build for a coat stand, this is probably the most simple of the three builds but still looks very cool.
The next build is of a small scale space shuttle, this stand includes Mae Jemison and Sally Ride, this is probably the most in depth build of the set and is so much fun to make, the shuttle also can be separated similar to the Saturn V set, a really cool little build to have.
The final build is of Nancy G. Roman which includes a small build of a satellite and a printed piece which represents the planatery nebula which is again a very cool printed piece to own.
The cool thing with this set which is the same as most of the Lego Ideas sets is that there are no stickers in this set and you get some really cool printed pieces, you get four really cool mini figures which also have very unique printing which you aren't going to get in any other sets. I will be putting this set with my Saturn V which will look awesome!
The build is very fun and very easy so it is suitable for kids, this is the sort of set which will appeal to all ages as it is very cool, fun and also educational, you get the instruction manual which has information about each of the women of NASA included in this set and tells you about everything which was accomplished.
I think for the price this is definitely good value for money and would highly recommend this to anyone!"
"This set is absolutely fantastic, it was one which I wanted for ages and I finally managed to get my hands on it, i already had the Simpsons house and thought they would look really cool next to each other.
The build took me 3 days and was so enjoyable, the pieces you get in this set are so bright and colourful, I don't think I've ever had so much fun building a Lego set, the build isn't particularly difficult but you get so many different pieces with this set that i really wanted to take my time and enjoy the building process.
You get so many cool mini builds within this set such as the arcade games, the shelves, the coffee making machine, the donut counter, the cash machine and the squishy making machine.
There are also so many references to Simpsons episodes which Simpsons buffs like myself are going to really appreciate, such as 'bonestorm' on the arcade games, a frozen Jasper, a graffiti sticker saying Apu hearts manjula, leftorium poster, crates of power sauce and Apu's vegetable garden!
This set is just packed full of awesome colourful detail and is great as a play set or either as a display model, you get 6 minifigs including Apu, Bart, Homer, Marge, Chief Wiggum and Snake. The minifigs of Bart, Marge and Homer are different to the ones you get in the Simpsons house aswell so I believe that all the minifigs in this set are exclusive! You also get Chief Wiggums police car which is a fun little build.
I would rate this set 5/5 as it is fun, colourful, so much detail is included with some cool minifigs, great value for money, highly recommend this to any Simpsons or Lego fan!"
"This is a set which I had been after for ages but hadn't been able to get round to buying it (due to other sets I also wanted to buy) I finally managed to get my hands on one!
The build itself is split into three stages, and these are indicated with the bags numbered 1-3 and there were about 6 bags for each number (roughly) so this set comes with a lot of pieces, the first stage you build the car and the ground floor of the cinema including the outside path which has the stars like the Hollywood walk of fame which to my surprise were printed! On the ground floor you have 3 movie posters, ticket kiosks and a food counter which includes a little popcorn making machine, the foyer area is pretty big so you can easily fit quite a few minifigs in this space.
The second part of the build is the second floor which is the actual cinema with the screen, curtains, six seats and a platform for the movie projector, there is also stairs which connects to each floor. This part was probably the most enjoyable part of the entire build and I love that the screen is black and white as it really adds to the retro look of this cinema, I also love the projector which again looks very old fashioned.
The third and final part of the build is the roof and the main vertical sign for the cinema, there are some really interesting and fun builds within this section, my favourite part is the way the word 'palace' is build into the sign, and transparent yellow studs which are used as the lighting just makes it really jump out at you.
The minifigs in this set are very cool and they have the old traditional style faces, you get six all together and the car is quite a quick build but still looks great and finishes this set off well.
You get a few stickers in this set including the screen, the movie posters, and parts of the sign, however you get some cool printed pieces like the stars on the path, the cash registers, and the money.
All in all this is a fantastic set which looks really classy and is such a cool display piece, it works even if you don't have any other modular buildings as it is meant to be a corner piece so works well on its own on a shelf or cabinet, the minifigs are really cool and has some nice play features, I would give this a 5/5 and highly recommend it to Lego fans especially big movie buffs!"
"This is a set I was very excited to get, having seen the images of it I loved the fact that you get a stand and a spec sheet sticker like the UCS sets, I think these really finish off a set nicely.
The box was bigger then I expected and it came with 6 numbered bags, the build was very enjoyable and it was a lot more intricate then I thought it would be, the amount of mechanisms inside this build are very fun to make and none of it was boring or repetitive, even the outer shell of BB-8, each side is built slightly differently. The build tool me roughly 3 hours and wasn't especially challenging but some parts were quite fiddly and require a fair amount of pacience.
This set comes with some awesome functions, there are parts which you can turn on each side, one which makes the head turn around and the other makes the lighter thumbs up come out of the front, when you turn them it is a very smooth process and all moves very freely. It also feels like a very strong and solid build and you don't need to worry about carrying it around.
You get a smart looking display stand and a spec sheet which is a really nice addition and doesn't take too long to build (not as long as some other stands like Slave 2 or TIE Fighter), you also get a minifig of BB-8 to go on the stand.
I would definitely recommend this set to any Star Wars fan as it's an awesome build, looks fantastic and has cool play features and can work as a nice display piece, (it would also look awesome if you have the UCS R2D2!)
