Brilliant with Modifications.
" I admit it I was very hesitant buying the set. The Divers weren't selling me on this. The over the top attack of color and features seemed kind of "who ya fooln,'" but I was wrong!
This set was quite amazing and has great potential for playability.
The Minifigures:
The Diver, Is quite detailed and cool to look at once I held him. He looks non compatible with other series outside of Atlantis but I think he will work.
The Sharkman is well Awesome. Not a Cad Bane or Embo great, but very detailed and makes a good bad guy all round. PS. to LEGO good staff. =)
The Ship:
The ship had issues in my opinion. To me it needed to fold up more and have a foot position for the diver instead of just hanging off. Also the engine was quite high with some bare spots on the part holding the legs.
I dropped the engine lower and used the parts to cover the bald spots. I removed the wings because they seemed excessive. The arms had VERY poor movability so I fixed it using the parts that had held the wings. Instead of moving the legs up I moved them down so the detail was on the outside. And I rolled the back legs to a point.
Very pleasing after modifications. Would of been slightly annoyed without them. Thanks! "

Not worth it.
" My best advice would be to NOT buy this set. There are too little of pieces for this to be a $7 dollar set. Matter almost doubles the piece count of this set. Not to mention if the reason you are buying this set is because you or your child likes cars then it would make no sense to buy this considering many of the other sets already have him in it. If it was $5 dollars I'd say yea go for it if you arnt planning on buying the larger sets. The pieces arnt even that universal because if you scrap him there isnt too much you can do with the larger pieces and the rest are pretty standard that you can get anywhere else.
Pros
If you like cars and dont want the other sets.
Cons
Serious case of Red eye.
Not worth $7, just get the larger sets.
Thanks "

A good practice set.
" Essentially if you want to test just how good of a builder you are try one of these little sets and see just how many combinations and creations you can get out of it. I essentially spent days just with this set seeing what I could make. It is a good set for making little vehicles for the minifigures.
Eventually I added this set with the larger lego car creator set and have created some pretty cool works. My favorite being a pretty cool speed boat and jet.
Pros
Great set to test your skills on a minimum amount of pieces.
Great supplement to larger sets.
Cons
Quite a bit of repeat parts, nothing to special piece wise.

Army Builder!
" First off this set is a must have.
The mini-figures alone are worth the price of this set much less a little ship for the alien as well. If you compare prices against say the Mini-figure series running $3 per figure you cant go wrong with two for 5 plus a ship.
The ship is cool, nice color and details. The pieces can be good details to larger ships or added to sets from the creator series.
A note to people buying online, go to pick a brick and add a set of binoculars. You can add it to make a SHOTGUN!!!
If you can afford multiples of this set:
The larger Alien Conquest sets don't have many figures and you can easily supplement them with this set. What I'm working towards is having enough to create a little invasion army of these to face off against an army of the blue soldiers and the bigger sets.
Pros
Two figures for five dollars.
Easy army builder.
Nice detail on the figures.
Colorful pieces on the ship.
Cons
Prefer if it was the other alien design in this set.
Thanks! "

A Good Purchase
" I was surprised by the size of the ship, in some ways large and others small. The engines and back part were of huge girth, but the cockpit was very small with room for only one pilot and one prisoner (laying down). The jail so so freaking tiny, yet I do not see a way they could of made it bigger without mucking up the whole set. The engines and mechanical functions really add to the set like the opening doors and rotating engines. The shape of the ship allows for great playability by having a firm grip in the back.
There is great potential (and need) for modifications. After buying the set it would be extremely beneficial to go to pick a brick and add details. For example, the front needs three smooth 2x1 pieces and the top part behind the cockpit needs a robot claw hand to hold the top shut, small angle pieces and smooth yellow 2x1 for the top of the wings, and black round 1x1 piece to finish up the back inner engines.
There is definitely room for more modifications.
Pros:
Minifigs are awesome.
Playability
Parts and color
Well priced
Cons
Top door opens alot (if not fixed)
Engines tilt (if not fixed with a 2x2)
Really small jail.
Only fits one pilot.
Thank you "
