"I bought this set for the many interesting parts in colors I enjoy using, but I also enjoyed building the model.
There are plenty of nifty brown, gold, and dark blue parts that can be retasked for pirate themed creations. (The lanterns in this set now adorn the back of my permanently displayed Metal Beard mech/figure). There are also plenty of parts that worked great in my Cloud Cuckoo Palace MOC.
The mast can get knocked off easily, but there are plenty of more sturdy places to hold the ship while playing with it."
"I bought this set just for the hot air balloon, and enjoy it every bit as much as I hoped. It is sturdy enough to fly around during pretend play without breaking apart, and looks great hanging off the highest towers on my Cloud Cuckoo Palace.
The picnic/ground portion of the set has plenty of great pieces to use in other creations."
"Zane has a great set of abilities; Acrobat, Spinjitzu, Stealth, Target, Dive and X-Ray Vision that make him very useful for solving puzzles to get mini-kits and gold bricks.
Until the Superman fun pack is released, Zane is the only character with the X-ray Vision ability."
"If you're a completist, you'll need Jay's combination of Electricity, Stealth, Fix it and Spinjitzu to get a Gold Brick in the Emerald City, Wizard of Oz Adventure World.
I enjoyed putting together the vehicle, but besides getting that one gold brick, I haven't found much use for Jay or his vehicle in the game.
If you need the Electricity ability, I'd recommend the Jurassic World team pack. For Spinjitzu, Stealth and Fix-it, I'd recommend the Nya fun pack."
"I'm disappointed that unlike in many other LEGO video games, Joker does not have the water/toxic cleanup ability in this game.
I already have Joker and Harley figures from other sets. The vehicles are nice but nothing special or noteworthy.
Unless you are a big fan of Joker and Harley, I would recommend getting the Unikitty fun pack (Water, Rainbow, etc) and/or the Jurassic World team pack (Electricity, Vine cut, Gyroswitch, etc) instead for a better array of abilities."
"Benny is a great Dimensions character to have because of his many abilities: Hacking, Sonar Smash, Master Building, Targeting, and Technology.
His in game dialog is fun and he is a pleasure to play. I don't tend to use him as much now that I have Dr Who, who has a similar ability set and can also operate the TARDIS.
I liked building the spaceship models, but rarely use it in the game."
"This set has dark brown and transparent orange parts that I look forward to using elsewhere. I especially like the trans-orange 1x1 pyramid pieces. As much as I love tran-orange pieces, I don't care for the rocky textured slope pieces included in this set. I can think of no way to use them in my own creations, and would rather have other parts to work with.
The Infernox figure is well constructed and can be posed easily for display.
I think the horse vehicle would have looked much better if the designers had chosen dark or regular green highlight to match the minifigure's armor rather than the lime green elements.
I like Aaron's green/silver armor in this set much better than the trans-green armor in the "Utlimate Aaron" set.
I like the Queen minifigure, and am disappointed that she is being portrayed as someone who needs saving rather than someone who commands a cool mech/vehicle."
"Four figures at a $12 price point would usually be a great deal. Unfortunately, there are three identical Ultron figures in this set with a helmet and a back piece on one. The remaining figure, Iron Man, is so common, that it can be had in any number of other sets.
The vehicle has many pieces that will be useful in MOCs."
"I found the Back to the Future levels more like a chore I had to complete than a game I get to play.
I find the Marty dialog annoying, and don't find the character useful. Sonar smash seems to be his only ability, and I would rather use Dr Who for Sonar Smash, as the good Doctor has many other useful abilities to round him out.
The hoverboard gadget/ability is mostly useless, especially if you have any flying character, and seems like it is only included to fit the figure, vehicle, gadget formula for the level packs. I also didn't enjoy building the hoverboard and don't find any of the bricks in the build useful for building MOC. After building it the first time, I clicked the hoverboard directly onto the game tag and keep it in the same storage slot as Marty.
The DeLorean vehicle is the saving grace for this set. It is a nifty build and only one of two vehicles that can activate the Time Travel ramps."
