"I like the parts in this set and feel I can put most of them to good use in other projects.
I prefer the standard two-tone armor (signature color + metallic silver) for the knights to the transparent "ultimate" armor in this set.
The back piece is not well attached to the armor and seems to fall off every time I pick up the figure. I imagine it would be difficult to play with the figure without the back piece constantly falling off.
The Arrow Strike shield included in this set is one of my favorites to use in the related mobile device game, though I'm disappointed with the way it levels up with repeated scans. The ability IS more powerful with repeated scans, but it also takes significantly longer to charge up before you can use it, and has a significantly longer "cool down" time between when the ability stops working and when you can select/use any other ability. Basically, all the waiting and shield scanning doesn't translate to much benefit in the game."
"I got this set as a Christmas gift, and haven't found any use to play the characters or vehicles.
I keep Nya next to my toypad while playing for her stealth, spinjitzu, and fix-it abilities. These boys don't seem to do anything Nya and my other core characters (Wonder Woman, Wicked Witch, & WyldStyle) can't."
"I love Unikitty. She completes me. I bought this set even before I bought the Dimensions starter kit. As much as I'd love Unikitty to be my go to character in LEGO Dimensions, in practice I only grab her when I need to bust/build rainbow bricks and to upgrade her vehicle. She has great in-game animation and looks disturbing when the gold brick detector "red brick" is activated.
I love Cloud Cuckoo Car. The ducky car is incredibly useful in game. In its different iterations, the car has water cannons to water plants, put out fires and clean up toxic waste; flight dock ability; cargo hook ability; stud magnet and follow ability. It is rather slow and clunky so tends not to work well for races. It is, however, great for plowing over the scenery and collecting studs."
"This has been my favorite LEGO build in some time. It took me more than two hours to complete without ever feeling tedious.
I love the level of detail, and am delighted that there are plenty of minifigures included in the set.
I stole an additional two dark blue modified 2x2 with groove and 1 stud in center tiles from the Batcave to replace the dark blue 2x4 tile near the top so the "lid" stays firmly attached when the back doors are open."
"The set has a low game play time per price ratio. Even after I've spent more than a hundred dollars for additional figures and level packs, I still run up against content and challenges that are inaccessible. For example, there is a gold brick in a sunken city underneath The LEGO Movie world that is only accessible with a character that has both Dive AND Chima abilities, which is only one character: Croc. There is a gold brick in The Emerald City in Oz that is only accessible with a character with Stealth, Fix-it, AND Electricity, which is only one character: Jay. I keep running into more of these single character obstacles as I play. Also as of December 2015, there are no characters available with Drone, Atlantis or Ghost abilities. I have found many puzzles that need these abilities, so there is still plenty of content that can't be accessed.
Also, wait for this to go on sale. I bought it for $60, and still feel there are many other video games that have much better play value for $60."
"Nya is one of my favorite LEGO Company created characters. While the new suit included in this set has intricate and well-done print, I opt to use the classic Samurai X uniform that I got with LEGO set 9448 on the toy pad.
My core team is Wonder Woman, Wicked Witch & Wyldstyle, but I keep Nya on standby next to the toy pad for when I need stealth and spinjitsu abilities.
I haven't found any use for the Samurai Mech vehicle in the game yet, and the toy itself is rather finicky and falls apart easily."
"Wonder Woman is my main playable character in LEGO Dimensions. She can do every ability Batman can do except stealth, plus she has a host of abilities Batman doesn't like flight, dive, mind control, etc. I love that the 1975 Wonder Woman TV series theme plays when she flys!
My core team consists of Wonder Woman, Wicked Witch & Wildstyle.
I also enjoy the Invisible Jet vehicle, which in the second build has the coveted flight + laser combination to melt gold bricks/cut holes in places characters can't stand."
"The Wicked Witch pretty much has the same ability set as Gandalf can AND she can fly, so I prefer her to Gandalf in gameplay. She is also one of the few Dimensions minifigures that I wanted but didn't already have from another set.
The Flying Monkey model doesn't look nice, is clunky, falls apart easily and I haven't found it useful in the game. I would have much rather had a flying monkey minifigure as they appear in the game."
"I bought this set because Skylor is my favorite character from Ninjago, and this is the first set where she is wearing ninja gear. I'm disappointed that the orange of the uniform is a lifeless hue. Neither a happy bright orange nor a more sophisticated dusky autumn orange. The graphics on the figure are also disappointing. Neither as clean as the classic training uniforms, nor nearly as cool as the previous Kendo or ZX uniforms.
If you're also a Skylor fan, skip this set and wait for LEGO to produce some better/cooler ninja gear for Skylor.
Also, the vehicle wasn't anything special, and something I'd never play with."
"I bought this set because it has plenty of basic parts that can be used to build other creations. After building it by-the-instructions, I immediately disassembled it for Cloud Cuckoo Palace parts. I was not disappointed."
