"The only thing worth saying is that it's great to have blue baseplates back! Blue is a much more usable color than the sand/tan baseplate (personally, I'm building a coastal city, so it was hard to continue without the blue)."
"I bought this set especially for Old Man Luke (like most people I'm sure). And while that minifigure is great, the rest of the set is incredibly well-detailed. It's nice to see that Lego didn't just slap a Luke minifigure in an otherwise worthless set. This one is a fun build and has plenty of fun details. Also, who doesn't love getting a Porg as well?"
"A fun little set for the new City line. Getting the bee hive with this is a nice little surprise for set this small. The best of all, however, is the male bandit's face has an alternate side with bee stings on it. Definitely a small set worth buying!"
"As a fan of the former City Farming theme, I like this set a lot. The color scheme is great for autumn, and the variety of food pieces (especially the yellow stalks) add to the value. Anyone interested in having a seasonal theme or just adding some basic farmland to his/her own city should definitely pick this up while it remains available. Remember, these seasonal sets go fairly quickly."
"There seem to be complaints about this being a disappointing Christmas set, but I bought it because I am a Star Wars fan. I like that the advent calendar gives me access to a variety of minifigures from different Star Wars series. Pros: * Good minifigures (nice to get a Sabine as well extra stormies) * Fun microfighters * Interesting element builds (especially the Resistance mounted gun) Con: * Price. I'm sure the Star Wars licensing is what pushes the price point up.
If you're a Star Wars fan, it's a good set. If you're looking for something specifically Christmas related, Lego offers other sets that are more suited to that need."
"I've been looking forward to this set since I saw the teaser for it on the Easter set. It has a great price point, especially considering the pieces inside. The wrought iron gate is awesome, the minifigure is somewhat unique, and the light orange bricks are a nice change of color-scheme. Yes, it's fun as a Halloween display, but the pieces involved allow it to help expand future builds as well. Definitely buy this before the season is over!"
"This set is perfect for anyone who building a Lego city of his/her own. Each of these little builds are great additions to a city. Pro: This set is a great value because of the more specialized pieces that come with it (bicycle, food pieces, etc). I cannot recommend this enough for City fans! Con: Some people may be upset that there are no minifigures. For me, though, this is okay; my city is getting a little overpopulated at the moment."
"My original interest in this set was purely based on the new panther (big cat) piece. But having built the rest of the set, I am pleasantly surprised. The half-track - without the stickers - fits in perfectly with my other mining/construction vehicles I have in my city. I love all the new pieces this theme brings in. While I don't have a lot of jungle exploration in my city, most of the set can be adapted to fit in.
Pros: * Panther! (Cheapest set for the new big cats) * The half track is a solid build ... no issues with the treads locking up. * New pieces (new spider design, machete) * The small "ruins" has a good playable element to it.
Cons: Honestly, none. While price point may keep some people away, I feel that you get a lot of value out of this set."
"I'll be honest, the only reason I bought this set originally was for Agent Coulson and Lola. The Coulson minifigure is great, and I love that more characters are getting their own minifigures. Lola (the car) is well-detailed, and it can fit right in with any other Lego cars you may have rolling around. What impressed me most, however, was Detroit Steel. I have not bought any set that included a mech in a few years and wow! The Detroit Steel mech is awesome. It has great points of articulation and balances easily. If I had to provide a con, I would say the shoulder-armor pieces pop off depending on how you rotate the arms, but I don't see that as an issue. I'm not a fan of the six-stud shooter, so I cobbled together a different gun for him to carry. For any Marvel fans, I highly recommend this!"
