Small Step or Giant Leap
" This was an incredible build, I was completely absorbed by the techniques used and the way it all came together to make this iconic piece of Space History. Normally having to construct the base plate is a frustrating experience but this was detailed enough to make it a good experience and it really does give a great looking moon surface for the Lunar Lander to be displayed on.
A fair number of stickers with this one and, as we know by now, I am not the greatest at attaching them. Even worse some of the most important ones (ie. those on the outside of the model) have metallic finishes. The metallic stickers REALLY show if you need to peel off and re-add so I was worried. However, I was advised to use the end of the brick seperator that you would normally use for lifting flat tiles and it was a game changer. So, my sticker fu improved exponentially on this kit.
On display it looks really eye catching and stands out on my overcrowded shelving. The instruction manual has a lot of interesting information about the actual Lunar Lander used back in 1969 and also a really detailed blueprint of it. The only issue I had was the blueprint was kind of small so you can't see all the fine detail but that is me being picky.

Space History
" I was thrilled when The Lego Group decided to reissue this set as I was really disappointed that I had come back to Lego too late to get it. It had been on my "want list" for a while and in the end I decided just to take the plunge and get it. I hadn't realised that it was not just the Saturn V rocket model but also included a small Lunar Landing Craft and the Landing Capsule which are nice little builds in their own right.
The rocket itself uses some build techniques that were new to me and highly effective. I was worried in the early stages as it does look as though the exterior is made from tall curved pieces but these are merely internal structure and the outside uses tiling to create the heat panel effect. ALL of the detailing is via pre-printed bricks so NO stickers which is definitely a bonus.
Build Time on this was extended because I got over confident and did not read the instructions properly so had issues connecting Stage Two in to Stage One and it took me a while to realise I had a 1x4 out of place which was why they would not connect. The connections are really secure and yet allow you to break the rocket apart easily should you wish to display it in stages rather than one huge rocket. When I say huge, I mean HUGE. Yes, the decription tells you it is just under 39.5 inches tall but somehow until you have built it the true size just doesn't compute. There are 3 "braces" included in the build so you can display it on it's side - good job too as that is pretty my only option at the moment.
As a final touch can we just talk about the piece count? 1969 - just how cool a detail is that!

Fall
" I have an unreasonable onsession with the Brick Headz range. I have been trying my best to resist buying more but every time I looked at this figure I wanted him more and more. I am really glad I went ahead with the purchase as he looks so great built. Even the other half was impressed with how great he looks when built and how much better than the pack photos he is.
The big thing for me with the Brick Headz is the build technique used. I love how innovative it is and how you can't really see more than an amorphouse brick blog and then suddenly it is a recognisable figure. Very clever and very fun to build.
As an added bonus he is set in to a little scene which makes him really pop on my display shelf. The bright yellows chosen for his straw hair help that look as well. Incredibly happy with this build.

Grogu!
" I've been backwards and forwards with this build as I couldn't decide whether or not to get The Child and build him. However, I really enjoyed the Yoda figure build and knew that the pack art didn't do him justice so I decided that just for the sake of balancing my display shelf out I would get him.
BEST DECISION I HAVE MADE.
I really enjoy the construction aspect of these figures. The central Technic tower and then creating the exoskeleton flat and then attaching it to the frame. It seems like it would be really flimsy but honestly these are very sturdy when built and the techniques used are fun to learn and execute
Even better The Child looks so great when built. It does help that his ears are completely poseable so I have found myself changing their position on an almost daily basis to change his look. The eyes are much better on this than on Yoda too, nowehere near as spooky looking.

Rattle The Cobra
" First off can we talk about the mini figures in this set. I am absolutely overjoyed with the snake men that are included, they genuinely made this kit so much, much better for me. The Boy was strangely impressed with the moulded detail on the spinner which I get but the Snake Men are where this kit is at.
Some great build techniques for Fire Fang his/her self. The construction of the main figure was a great deal of fun and I really enjoyed myself. I liked the amalgamation of a rattlesnake with a cobra and the building of the rattler tail made me grin and it even works to rattle. The articulation method means that as you move the snake the whole tail gently waves back and forward in an almost hypnotic way which is strangely satisfying.
To be honest it does feel more like a display piece than a play piece but that could just be my age showing.

Going on an adventure
" The Ninjago sets continue to surprise me in a very good way. I will be honest and say the only reason I purchased this set because of the board game feature - I bought the Skull Dungeon because it looked incredible on the pack art and then got this because it ties in for a board game.
The little castle dungeon this builds is really nicely detailed and was a really enjoyable construction experience. It comes with a little pathway up to the dungeon itself which forms the spaces for the board game and is surprisingly large when all put together. I really liked that there is a little cot bed in the dungeon so at least your minifigure captive can be comfy.
As seems to be the case with these Ninjago kits there are a plethors of minifigures included and the little Orc type guy is incredibly detailed. Sadly he doesn't fit in the cage with his battle axe in hand but he does fit without it.
The mechanism for the cage raising and lowering is simple and very effective.
Definitely a fan of this kit and it is going to look great when I get the whole 4 built and on display - likely will never actually play the board game as it is a rather basic race to the end style game but the gameplay available with even just this as a stand alone piece is incredible and reminds me strongly of the castle kits from the late 1980s/early 1990s and this is a GOOD thing.

Spook The School
" Don't be put off by the pack art, this is a really incredible build. Unfortunately, the pack art on the Hidden Side series really does not draw you in and make you want to build it. They all look identical with a heavy reliance on the ghost hunting aspect of the A.R. App. This definitely does the sets a real disservice as you can't really see what you would be getting for your money and trust me, this kits are great value. You don't need the app to get a lot of playability from them and if you are building for display these really have something special.
Some fun building techniques in this particular large build. The mechanism for the claws is fun to construct and works well. Even better the eyes work via the clock in the centre of the wall. Definitely some nice little touches there. Once you turn the set aorund you have a full playset style school to play around in. Chock full of little details but the best has to be the swinging blackboard with the ghostly teddy bear. With a host of mini figures included there is plenty to sink your teeth into.
I could be on my own here but I prefer the non-spooky option. For once I didn't make any of my characters in to the possessed version as the school building just looks better to me without the monster on display.

Rhino Attack
" The centrepiece of this set is definitely the mech creature. The build was interesting and surprisingly didn't feel repetitive despite the obvious need to make two of the front and rear legs. Normally after making one I find the second one a bit boring but that wasn't the case in this build as the techniques used are interesting and very effective. The way the head is tensioned to the body is very simple but strangely impressive and really helps the look of the finished creature.
The set goes in with the board game feature and there are a separate set of instructions that show how to play. However, as the bulk of this build is the creature with just a couple of separate scenery bits that seem to make up the game I can't help but feel that is a bit of an add on designed to market the kit as an add on. Despite that it was well worth the time spent building and the money spent on the set. The mech creature is incredible and he looks great on my display next to the Destiny's Bounty.
Plenty of mini figures included too which made me happy - even though I am not a mini figure collector I still enjoy it when I get a good range of them to play with.

Get on yer bike
" Whilst I enjoyed this build I can't help but feel like there is something missing on it, can't put my finger on what but there is just something a bit off about it. It could be the flat grey of the exhaust system, usually these sections are chromed and the wheels are decidedly odd looking - again no chrome. Even if a chrome-esque finish isn't possible for cost reasons then at least make them from the silver rather than a flat blah grey.
Other than that the build was fun - despite me rolling my eyes at the chain build. 43 segments isn't too bad but I still have nightmares from the other chained pieces I've built (Roller Coaster and Haunted House) and connecting this was as much of a pain - I have fat fingers (no nice way to put it) so trying to connect it in a restricted space is a challenge to say the least.
Everything fits together snuggly and it felt really sturdy when I was carrying it upstairs to put it in it's display spot. I like the fact that the base slots in to the model rather than connecting to it, makes for a much securer way to display as even if I knock the shelf when arranging displays on another shelf it wobbles a little but I know it isn't going to break apart.
Some nice build techniques that whilst I have used them before they are used to good effect here to create a unique display piece. Generally very happy with this completed model.

My Favourite Build
" First things first, we need to talk about the packaging. I was completely blown away when I opened this box up as it is all sectioned up in to individual boxes which are then printed to make up a view of the actual vehicle this set is based on. Even better, you can change the boxes up to make up a rear view. The inside of the box lid is also printed with concept drawings of various Bugatti vehicles. Simply gorgeous packaging that I will be keeping intact and not folding down for flat storage.
As anticipated the build itself is complex and you really need to concentrate. So much so I spent 4 Days constructing this vehicle and really immersing myself in the whole build experience. The upshot of this was that I had no functionality issues when it was built and the drive train seems to work well with the gearing. There are some tricky sections where you have to work from underneath - so much so my husband asked if I wanted him to build me an inspection pit.
I cannot say enough good about this set. I was so disappointed to finally finish the build and I would happily start it all over again right now with the hugest grin on my face. Definitely one for the Lego Addict though as it is not going to be quick to construct no matter how experienced you are and it WILL challenge you. I was so impressed with how it all went together I actually took progress pictures of how each box broke down in to construction.
