"The planet sets are very cool. I have not gotten around to hanging up the planets as LEGO suggests, but that will look pretty cool. I have the Battle of Endor, and the lack of Imperial minifigures there was annoying. There was an AT-ST with no driver! Only Chewbacca could drive it! Now I have an AT-ST driver. He is far more detailed than his last variant. The model itself has a unique flap piece for the forward armor. The set comes with a plaque telling what comes in the set. If LEGO can make a special piece for a $10 set, why can't they make some for expensive sets?"
"The mummy minifigure is very nice. I wouldn't say he's better than the mummies in the pharaoh's quest theme, but he is a different style. He looks a bit awkward in my opinion when he holds that giant sword. A dagger would have been better. Ann Lee has a unique hair mold to hold that arrow-thing. I don't care for the good guys in this theme. The chariot is nice, but not particularly special. The helicopter is very nice. I like how LEGO includes miniature vehicles for the monster fighters in these small sets."
"Great set! After having read Dracula, I think this set is very detailed and follows the description in the book. Although I think the entire moonstone thing in this theme is unnecessary, I do think the contraption on top of the tower is awesome. Getting a few evil characters from the minifigure packs and putting them on the walls makes the castle even more scary. I got the cyclops, Mr. Good and Evil, and the evil knight. I play the piano, so I love the pipe organ in the attic! I think this set is pretty much perfect, and the only things I think should be added are some normal wolves (not werewolves) and some more coffins in the crypt. Great price!"
"This is a good cheap set with one cool minifigure and one average minifigure. The swamp creature is awesome! Unfortunately, all he comes with is a little pedestal for his moonstone. He should have had a bit more included in this set. Frank Rock is nothing special, but his mini catamaran boat-thing is pretty cool."
"I believe minifigures should be 1 dollar apiece, but I don't really mind too much. Just by chance, I got Mr. Good and Evil and the cyclops, the two figures I wanted the most! Both are stunning. I have them hanging out at Lord Vampyre's castle now. The cyclops is the best! He has two faces, both of which are cool with that single big eye. Mr. etc. has only one face, but it is very detailed. Obviously, he is based off of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. When I went to LEGOland, one of the employees felt the packages and she found the Roman Emperor and the Alien Invader for me. The LEGOland staff are very friendly. The Roman Emperor/Julius Ceasar even has "Veni, Vidi, Vici" or "I came, I saw, I conquered" printed on his scroll. The alien guy just looks cool and his only purpose is to fight the galaxy patrol. Later, I got the policeman. His hat is better than those the policemen in sets, and he has a police wallet-thing, but he just isn't too special."
"The Uruk-hai are awesome, but they are not at all rare. That's why I am glad some Mordor Orcs are included. Thus far, these orcs are the best minifigures in the entire LOTR LEGO series. The forge has a lot of cool features, such as the birthing pit, winch, light-up fire, and more. Lurtz is cool. I particularly like how in this set the armor has the white hand stamped on it. The only real problem is that the price should have been maybe $5 lower."
"Don't you like that joke Tolkien had in naming the first chapter in the Fellowship of the Ring? In the Hobbit, the first chapter is an Unexpected Party. Anyway, this is an acceptable set. It is cheap, but should be $8. Of course, it is only 5 dollars more expensive, but why pay any extra money? This was my first Gandalf, and he is great. However, in order to sit in his cart his cape must be bent. It folds, and then looks awful if you have him stand up. Frodo is fine as well. There isn't really much you can do with this set. If there was one LOTR set I did not get, it would be this. That isn't to say it is a bad set, but it is more like an addition to your collection than a stand-alone set."
"This set is great. I like the ballista, the Uruk-hai are great, and the Rohan Soldier and Eomer are cool as well. Now, I like the Uruk-hai, but the set could have used a few more Rohan soldiers. There is a fairly large wall to cover, plus the area underneath, and the big Battle of Helm's deep is low on soldiers as well! I would have liked at least 3 Rohan soldiers to even out the odds. Pretty much all of the minifigures in LOTR sets are main characters, so in battles they cannot really be killed off. The name "Uruk-hai army is a bit deceiving. Given, the Uruk-hai are the most numerous minifigures in the set, but most of the model itself is the Rohirrim's wall. I would also have liked maybe a larger ballista or other Uruk-hai vehicle/weapon. Those are small gripes, even though they take up so much space. You know what you are getting from looking at the image, and what you get is good. I haven't built the big battle of helm's deep, but I am sure that once I do and I connect the two sets it will look magnificent."
"Awesome set! Shelob herself is pretty cool, with her string and ferocious face. Gollum is awesome as well, and he can wait in a little cave and use a catapult to attack. Sam is exclusive, and is nice. I love Frodo's poisoned face! Buy this set now!"
"Pretty cool. Now we have 2 more spiders to be friends for Shelob. The two dwarf minifigures are well designed. I love the web nets! LEGO did a good job creating them to hold the dwarves! This set will be in the next Hobbit movie, so I can only compare it to the book, but for the most part it is accurate. Legolas and Tauriel spoil the set. "It's so cool to get exclusive figures, and we love Legolas" you might say, but BILBO should have been included instead. BILBO rescued the dwarves, and that was his big change that made him in literary terms, a "dynamic character". I understand that Legolas and Tauriel might rescue the dwarves in the future movie, but that is an awful mistake on LEGO and Peter Jackson's part. Otherwise, this is a great set."
