Barrels out of Bond
" Pretty cool. Since the Hobbit was originally going to be only 2 movies instead of 3, and this was going to be in the first movie, LEGO created this set. However, this scene will be in the 2nd Hobbit movie instead now, so right now I cannot compare the set to the movie. Having read the book, I can say that this is a pretty good set. It came with 2 extra rings. In the book, it was the Elvenking's butler and the Chief Guard sitting at the table, not the Chief Guard and a normal Guard. My only problem with this set is that there are no lids for the barrels. Of course, even if there were lids they would not fit on over the dwarves' heads, but LEGO could have adjusted the barrels. Also, there is no barrel for Bilbo. Otherwise, this is an awesome set with a cool design, and I recommend you buy it.

My precious!
" This is a great set. I am very glad LEGO began creating LOTR and Hobbit sets. I recommend you buy this immediately since it is cheap and is so cool. Gollum only comes in this set and Shelob Attacks, so he is somewhat rare, plus I always was pretty fond of him. Bilbo is the main character, so he is not too special, but he is necessary for this scene. The only things included in this set are Gollum's boat and a rock, but both are well-designed. I even got two extra rings!

Watch out Crooks!
" You can do a lot with this small set. You can see pretty much everything there is to see in the pictures. The only real problem is that the rotors can fall off or move easily. I would have liked a small helipad to have been included, but I understand that LEGO wants you to buy the police station for that.

Garbage!!!!
" This is a pretty weird set (just because it is based on a garbage truck). Yes, garbage trucks are essential to any city, but really, for a child's toy, why would LEGO make this a set? Even so, this set is surprisingly good. The garbage trucks on my street don't really look like this, but this is a combination of a garbage truck and a recycling truck, and I suppose garbage trucks are different all over the world. The set has a lot of playability because you can pretend to drive around your LEGO city and pick up trash and put it in the truck as you go along. The one problem with this set is that the cab only has room for one person, and two are included.

Space Sets!
" I really am glad LEGO began creating real space sets. I have always been a fan of space and LEGO sets, and this brings them together. The shuttle is very accurate, and has all sorts of nifty features, such as the satellite. When I went to Cape Canaveral a few years ago, I was stunned by how much real space shuttles looked like this set. Given, since this is a $30 set LEGO had to make it smaller and take out the living quarters, but this set is amazing. Not only is the set cool, but the instruction booklet contains facts about the real US space program. Did you know that often astronauts are several inches taller when they return from space because the lack of gravity allows their spines to stretch? Buy this set!

Lunar Rover
" I think this is probably based upon a Lunar Rover, and it looks pretty cool. It can be used as a maintenance vehicle on Earth or a Rover on the moon. For its price, it has a lot of playability.

Useful
" This is a very useful tool. I remember when I used to use my fingernails to pull apart bricks. How painful! I do not recommend you buy it, though. LEGO is beginning to include it in some of the more expensive sets, and now they even are including them in some of the $30 sets. I recommend you buy one of those sets instead of this. If you just buy the brick separator, shipping will cost more than your actual order!

Very Difficult to Build
" The title is a joke. This is just one piece. In itself, it has no playability, but you can build nearly anything on it. I used it as the base plate for my Endor diorama. It really works well. Keep in mind that you can only stick stuff to the top side of it, not the underside though.

Best Architecture Set!
" I have seen the real tower, and this does it justice. The design is creative and accurate. The only reason I gave it a bad playability rating is because it is a model of a building not to minifigure scale. It is not supposed to have playability. Of course, that is what everyone buying this would expect. Just a reminder, only the bell is called Big Ben.

Worst Architecture Set
" This had the potential to be as good as all the other architecture sets, but there were a few nasty elements to it. The piece count, price, and look of the set are good, but the building process is awful. The cables/tubes have to be cut with scissors! That is mauling the pieces. First, it is a pain to cut them. It would be awful to accidentally cut the wrong length and ruin the set. Second, not everyone has scissors on them at all times. I was at a restaurant when I was building this, so I had to wait until I got home to complete the set. Third, this completely goes against LEGO's policies. The LEGO company says "Don't paint your LEGO pieces, don't glue them, etc." And now they want us to cut them? I can understand with string, but with plastic pieces that is outrageous. I would not recommend this set to a friend.
