"This is a well made set with rare minifigures, but may not be the best money choice. CANNON: The Geonosians have not been seen for nearly a decade, so it's nice to get a few remakes(the other being the Geonosian starfighter) and this cannon is a good kickoff. The cannon is mostly just a platform with a dish gun up top. The cannon is gunned by a single drone, and can fold up to be stored easily. However, I don't think it's worth twenty dollars size wise, even with the good minifigures. The Police Pursuit was bigger and a couple dollars less. MINIFIGURES: Thank goodness there are these four good minifigures that make up a little bit for the price. The bad guy vs. good guy range is exacted as usual in these smaller sets, and here they are. -BARRISS OFFEE: This chick isn't really my favorite Jedi after seeing the episodes of Clone Wars she was in, but as a collector of the Order, you take what you can get. She has good torso detail, and a blue hood with matching cape. Her face is the main difference from the old one, as the eyes are larger and the head paler than the last one. She wields a blue lightsaber. -COMMANDER GREE: The highlight minifigure of the set. For long most clone trooper fans have wanted a Commander Gree after the Big Three of Rex, Cody, and Fox. He has his Phase I green printing and an ammo belt, a regular clone face and carries a blaster. Great to have; look for the Phase II Gree in 2014! -GEONOSIAN SOLDIER: Geonosians are completely a surprise upon LEGO Star Wars fans. They haven't been seen in 10 years and the remake is great to have. The head mold and printing are accurate and detailed to the Clone Wars version, and the soldier is also included with plastic wings and a sonic gun. -GEONOSIAN ZOMBIE: Here's where things go down hill. In the history of the Clone Wars, there has been several times in the episodes that I think got too violently and witchcraft like for little kids. These and the Nightsisters are what comes immediately to mind. The minifigure is well done in accuracy to the show, but I honestly don't think it was necessary for these guys to even be invented. OVERALL: An okay set with okay minifigs, save for Commander Gree who is fun to get. This is definitely a playability set, but also needed to be a few bucks less than what it was. I give this set a 4/5"
"This is a great set for the money. I love how Lego Marvel has been putting fantastic and rare minifigures in cheaper sets, as Nick Fury is obviously the highlight in this set and the reason I got this. Another example would be War Machine in the Extremis Seaport Battle. SPIDER CYCLE: This is one of two vehicles in the set. Now the set is based off of cartoon Spider-Man shows, so its not exactly anything some of us might fully recognize, but once again, this set's main value is in the minifigures. The cycle is predominantly black and grey, as its main structure is with technic pieces, which allows the cycle's main feature: for the wheels to fold up(not unlike the Back to the Future DeLorean) so it can fly. The cycle is decorated with a few red bricks and a sticker on the front depicting a spider. S.H.I.E.L.D. CAR: The car is colored green, though I would have preferred blue and gray, but like I said, this isn't for the Avengers, it's for Ultimate Spider-Man. The car also uses a fair amount of technic pieces to fold up into it's final shape. In the back is a slightly hidden flick-fire missile, though this time its the improved version that launches further (yay). The car seats two and is decorated on the hood and sides with S.H.I.E.L.D. stickers. Like the cycle, the car's most commercialized feature is the fold up wheels that give the impression of it's flight abilities in the show. Overall, a good car that goes great with Hawkeye's jeep. MINIFIGURES: This, as said, is one of several Marvel sets that have put good and rare minifigures in less expensive sets. -SPIDER-MAN: Spider-man is a new and improved version of the old sets from 2005 and 2006, and has a much more cartoony look. Currently this is the cheapest way to get him. The head has much enlarged eyes and webbing printed details, and his torso has webbing over blue and red patterns, with a black spider on the front and a larger, red spider on the back. His legs are completely blue, though I would have preferred some printing on them with a little more red, because he almost looks too blue. He also comes with a white rope piece to represent a web string. Overall, he's a good minifigure that is a great addition to your Marvel superhero team. -VENOM: Venom is notoriously one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies in all Spider-Man media, having come close to revealing old Web Head's identity and killing him as well. He isn't my favorite of Spidey's adversaries, but he is exclusive. He has a black head printed with steely, large eyes and a fang filled mouth with his tongue lashing out. His torso is black with a steel colored mutant spider on each side. He has attached to his back some black vine pieces for some of the Symbiote, as well as two brick built Symbiote chunks seperate from him. A villain sure to last a while in any fight. -NICK FURY: The grand spotlight point of the set. He is both movie-accurate and comic accurate, so no matter what you play you've got the right guy. He has black legs printed with ammo straps, and a bluish gray torso also with a belt and strap. His head is colored brown, and he has his black goatee and eyepatch to give him that final 'boss' look. The only downside is his weapon. Has anyone else noticed how LEGO keeps giving Marvel guys the old Alien Conquest guns? If you have extra stuff, it shouldn't be a problem, but it can get annoying when you stock up on those. OVERALL: This is a great set with a good superhero and is worth the money just to get Nick Fury. I give this set a 5/5"
"This is a great, fun, cheap set that makes a good invention to any LEGO City or police collection. ATV: This is a fun vehicle for the cops that is quick and easy to build and provides some off roader backup in a chase. It is white and blue, the colors of all the cop vehicles, and seats one. PICKUP TRUCK: The maroon and grey pickup is good for a criminal, a citizen, or Walker, Texas Ranger for that matter. The construction is very similar to Hawkeye's jeep in the Avengers sets. It is a very compact vehicle because of a few bigger, simpler, and more standard bricks used. It seats one up front and can hold two more in the back. The back can lift up to reveal some gold bricks inside. MINIFIGURES: The set comes with two great figures for the vehicles. COP: The cop is in my opinion the coolest out there. He comes with a head that is printed with a cocky grin and Aviator shades, a head that has been seen several times before, usually as some Special Ops guy. He's always my favorite in the sets, and I call him Rick. Anyway he wears dark blue jeans and is dressed in a tan forest police shirt printed with a walkie talkie and a badge, and wears a helmet and visor. CRIMINAL: This guy is a bit different from the standard robber, as his prison shirt has ripped sleeves and he wears khakis rather than gray. He also has a bearded, angry face and a gray henchman hat and wields a crowbar, making him look like just the person this awesome cop could handle. OVERALL: This is a fun, easy set that is a great addition to a larger collection or just for playability by itself. It has a cool looking cop and a rarer criminal, and I recommend it to anyone. I give this set a 5/5."
"First off, can I just say this is the BEST movie since forever. If you haven't seen it yet, I guarentee ages 10-80 will enjoy this film. Anyway, on to the set. This is a great set for a great scene from a great film. It's a bit heavy on the price, but totally worth it. I'll start with the train. (SPOILERS IN REVIEW) ENGINE: This engine is built spot on accurate, and has room to fit two people inside. A few features include a sign that reads T.C.C.R. plus a brick built bell up front. Many of the pieces from the Toy Story train are used in this just in different colors. Attached to the engine is the coal car, which can lift up to reveal, well, anything you want. The car also has a sign on it saying CONSTITUTION. ARMED TRANSPORT CAR: This car is a flat, low down section that is a mix of two cars shown in the film. It has a box with a lot of silver inside(thousands of dollars in San Francisco) at one end and at the other is a rotating gatling gun that wasn't actually in the silver car, but on a different one similar to it's construction and was used to cut down the Comanches in their raid on the silver mine. I would have preferred the car be completely full of silver and the gatling gun detachable, but it's more fun for the little kids that way. JAIL CAR: This car is basically your open for play car, as it could technically be several different cars with a little imagination. It was crafted to look mostly like the prison car on the train at the beginning of the film. It has sliding doors and an exploding back wall, and room for about three figures, one in the cell and two outside. TRACKS: This set has made an incredibly important break through in LEGO train history by coming with a circle of tracks. Now if you have all the space in the world, this won't hurt too much, but if you don't, then I must warn you, this thing is HUGE when put in a circle as instructed. Since it was too big for my dresser, I invented and improvised a little. WATER TOWER: Now, there wasn't actually an exploding rock nor water tower in the movie, so this is where it gets to playability for the kids. The water tower looks just fine, and if you prefer not to pull the pin and have it fall all the time, than it atleast looks good in the Colby City as just more detail and decoration. ROCK: The rock is the same as the water tower. You push a pin and part of it blows up. If you don't care for it, it still makes good desert decoration or even an obstacle in a Clone Wars battle. MINIFIGURES: This set comes with a satisfying seven minifigures, most exclusive and key to the set's scene. -LONE RANGER: The masked man comes in a black vest and jacket with a silver badge and brown trousers for legs. His face has a confident grin on it and is otherwise covered with his black mask. He also has a white, wide brimmed hat (he didn't have a bigger one?) and comes with two silver pistols that are a much more fashionable new mold than the ones in the Indiana Jones sets. -TONTO: What may be the best character in the movie is just as good in Lego. Tonto's torso and legs are printed with khakis and a lot of beads, as well as a canteen and a knife sheath. His head is double-sided, one smiling and the other scared. His face has great detail with the white paint and black lines. He has a rubber hair piece decorated with a green headband and long strands of hair. A seperate rubber piece that attaches to his head is his ever famous crow (would you stop feeding that bird) that is one of two accessories, the other being a square stud piece with his pocket watch printed on it. -SILVER: The Lone Ranger's faithful steed comes in two sets, one of them this one. Lately the horses of Lego have been improved so that their head and legs and bend, and considering this theme, now was the perfect time to do so. If you are a display or play person, this white horse can run on or off the train (nature is indeed out of balance) and the Lone Ranger can ride perfectly on him with the saddle. -BUTCH CAVENDISH: Longtime enemy of both the masked man and his accomplices for his murders of Comanches and Dan Reid, Cavendish's gruesome look is perfectly recreated in Lego. His black hat is unique because of the long brown hair also molded in to it. His head is also double sided, one angry and more accurate detailing (whiskers, lip scar, etc) and the other is more creepy and wendigo like with an evil smile. His torso and legs are black with printed coat and vest something like that of the Lone Ranger's. He comes with a pistol and knife. -LATHAM COLE: Butch Cavendish's brother who is in disguise as a simple educated man of the railroad, yet is really greedy for silver and power, as well as envy of Dan Reid's family. Latham comes in his gray business suit and black hat, and has a grim, bearded face that could be worry and seriousness or evil. He comes with a rifle, though it is really more appropriate to have a pistol. -CAPTAIN J. FULLER: The captain of the cavalry who betrayed the Western's dynamic duo and teamed up with the wendigo brothers to get silver and expand the railroad. He comes in his blue cavalry outfit and is dressed with a strap that goes on like Indy's shoulder bag and holds a sword. He has a double sided face, one angry and the other even more angry. His face is detailed with blonde eyebrows, mustache, and beard. His head piece is like that of Cavendish's, with a blue cavalry hat and curly blonde hair molded into that. He also comes with a pistol. -REBECCA REID: The former wife of Dan Reid who is kidnapped by Latham Cole along with her son. Rebecca has a double sided face topped with brown hair put into a ponytail. One of her expressions is angry/determined, the other scared. -DANNY REID: The son of Rebecca who is kidnapped with his mother but has something that will help save the day: a silver bullet. Danny has on a gray suit like attire and short legs. His face is also double sided, one smiling and one scared. He has long brown hair the same mold as Thor's, and comes with a flat, rectangular piece printed to be his slingshot. OVERALL: You really can't have cons for a set this good, but since Lego did such a good job, I'll label a few things that simply could have been better, but didn't need to be. I would have preferred one more car in the set for the price amount, probably one that would have seats for passengers. Instead of a square piece for the pocketwatch, it should have been round. The fully accurate minifigures of the Lone Ranger and Tonto are the ones in the silver mine with dusty printings, just the Lone Ranger doesn't always need his angry face. All in all, this is a fantastic set that is a must have for any fan of the movie. If you haven't seen it, then you need too. Don't listen to the critics. Go and enjoy this motion picture."
"I must say, I had long given up hope that C-3PO and R2 would ever change from their respective details and positions, yet indeed here they are. Like most medium sized sets, this set consists of two parts and the minifigures. ESCAPE POD: The overall design of this is the same as the Republic Frigate's, just backwards. The two halves limit you from much building in this section, but I say that's just as well. I personally would not want to make up an entire piece by piece build for a semi round vehicle like this. Anyway, it has room for both droids inside(but mind you, not much else) and as previously stated, is mostly an add on type of build. SPEEDER BIKE: The speeder sort of bummed me out. I'm an Ewok fan, and as such have all five current Ewoks, but also three speeder bikes. What I would have really preferred is one of the giant lizards for the sandtroopers to ride instead. But, on the optimistic side, the speeder's build is simple and solid. It's really one of the full bikes just squinched up in the front. It contains room to hold two blasters and a seat for one of the troops. Overall, I would have preferred the lizard, but this is fine. MINIFIGURES: As most medium sized sets do, four minifigures are included as follows. -C-3PO: This minifigure has been completely revolutionized from its past version. The torso detail has been tremendously improved and now shows wiring were needed and more specific lining. The head is much the same, yet this time the eyes have and extra little glint to them. The legs are now printed, and also carry extra details. Overall, this minifigure is part of what got me excited. If you happen to be new to LEGO and don't yet have a C-3PO, then this is what to get. -R2-D2: This is just your regular R2, but I honestly don't think he needs improvement. He has his cylinder torso with printed details and connectable legs, and a half-oval head with his face linings and colorings. Standard, but good to be sure. SANDTROOPERS: The sandtroopers are also drastically changed. On the inside, they have faces in their black body socks. On the outside, they have the regular backpacks, and newly printed pauldrons, one white the other orange. Their helmets, torsos, and legs are printed with exact linings of stormtrooper armour, and on top of that spots of dust every other spot. One holds a rifle and a small silver stud (look, they're droids) and the other a standard blaster. Overall, these sandtroopers are beyond what you could ask for in detail and a great addition. OVERALL: This set is a mix of playability and display, though it probably leans toward the first a bit more. It has much improved the droids and the Imperials, enough that the minifigures alone are worth it. The only con in this set is that a speeder bike is a bit old fashioned. I might would suggest a remake of the Mos Eisley Cantina, and perhaps we can see a lizard then. I give this set a 4/5."
"The Desert Skiff is a well priced, medium sized set consisting of one of Jabba the Hutt's desert patrol skiffs, the Sarlacc Pit, and four minifigures. SARLACC PIT: This is what you build first. To my knowledge, it is pretty much the same as the old one with possibly a few slight peaks in the build. Rare pieces are used to make this section, which is always nice to have. The beaked tongue can fit an entire minifigure in the mouth and still close, which is fun for the playability. It is a simple build that is rewarding when it comes time for Luke to toss Jabba's guards off the skiff. SKIFF: The skiff is a much stronger and reliable build than its ancestors, and features a folding bridge, a hidden flick fire missiles which, yes, don't always work and could use improvement, and a hidden cargo holder. Also using a few rare pieces, the skiff is a standard, simple build but like the Sarlacc, well done for playability methods afterwards. The only problem I have with this section is that there were not enough clear colored 'hover' bricks to put the bridge properly above the Sarlacc Pit, but this is easily fixable if you have a few more than is included. MINIFIGURES: The minifigures are well done and spot on, precisely the ones I would have chosen. -Boba Fett: In the past, many versions of this character and his ship were released, each time getting improved. This one obviously surpasses them all. The coloring and detail on the infamous bounty hunter were much improved. He now has an accurate blaster, printed legs, and a short cape, better helmet, and scarred face (details that were also included in 2010's Slave I). Overall this is a cheap way to get the best version of Boba Fett that we'll get for a while. -Lando Calrissian: Since Cloud City in 2004, Lando has made only three other appearances until now. Most who say they want Lando mean they want his regular 'rogue' outfit, but that will have to wait for another time. This minifigure recreates Lando's guard disguise, giving him a new helmet mold and an outfit you'd expect to see on a Weequay. His labeled weapon is a spear with an axe blade like that of Savage Opress, but if you prefer a blaster, two extras come in the cargo hold. Overall, I say its nice to see Lando again, and that we should all hope for a remake of Cloud City sometime in the future. -Kithaba: This is really just another burly, alien henchman of Jabba's, so you get the standard Nikto or Weequay look on him. He has that greenish, slighty bearded looking face with a red bandana, and a torso with an ammo belt on it and a pair of bright red legs. As regular as he may seem however, you do have to be glad another bad guy was included and this seems a simple choice. -Luke Skywalker: The final minifigure in this set. He has reached his full potential powers and wears his black Jedi outfit that hasn't seen much change since maybe forever, but will be boosted up a step in the Ewok Village come September. He has the regular smiling Luke face and short cut blonde hair. As has happened since the new Sith Infiltrator, his lightsaber is now a bright emerald green rather than the lime, nearly yellowish color that has so long dominated the Lego Jedi Order. As regular as he may also seem, you don't get him in many cheap sets and its obvious he has to be here to whoop the bad guys. OVERALL: This set is mostly for a fun, quick build and especially playability. The Jabba scenes of Episode VI will be continued with Jabba's Palace, The Rancor Pit, and Jabba's Sail Barge. I give this set a 5/5"
