Near perfect
" I got this piece since I thought it would go well next to the movie Bounty... I thought that set couldn't be topped but side by side I feel this newer bounty makes better use of it's parts, space, playability, better minifigs and a more balanced design.
The play features which work well also give it added display variety.
In terms of negatives the captains cabin - sparse without the walls, cramped with them and the modular roof is a pain to line up and clamp on.
It's definitely the most refined bounty and a solid recommendation for anyone who likes ships.

Perfect playset for it's price
" I bought this for rocks parts.. but the build has exceeded my expectations. The game it's trying to promote is a bit gimmicky.. but it is optional and adaptable.
As a display piece, it looks awesome. The skull piece ties it all together and the set is bigger than it looks.
As a playset it's open, adjustable, has 2 floors with interesting elements. The play feature moves parts all over the set. It also adapts well with the other sets with the combined theme.. that being said.. it feels as though "journey to skull dungeon" was cut from the set like a videogame DLC. The layout is simply 'lop-sided' without its inclusion. I understand it makes it easier on parents.. but when you buy both sets you end up with 2 green lloyds and no red Kai.. a very manipulative way to get you to buy a 3rd set to complete the team.
It's not my favorite set. But it feels like the perfect playset I would have wanted for christmas as a kid. 9/10 .. I would give it a 10 if they just combined it with Journey and switched out a lloyd for Kai or Wu.

Reasonable Castle option
" Got this set for a dark fantasy MOC I've been building. I got the Monster fighters castle set so I can compare.
The good:
Decent display piece.
Castle opens up inviting play, is also very sturdy
Main Badguy mini-figure is awesome
The colours look great.
The Bad:
Rooms themselves feel lacking in details. 2 prison cells with nothing in them...
The mouth moving/trapdoor play feature is meh
Light green parts SHOULD glow in the dark like monster hunters
It feels like they were trying to make an improved version of monster fighters. But I feel as though is less interesting all up. It's a solid purchase for castle stuff but would not say essential. "
