"PROS: Looks great on display and as a UCS set the details are really nice. It is also surprisingly good for actual play and swoosh factors which is not usually expected in a UCS set. It doesn't fall apart nearly so readily as other UCS sets do. It is a very enjoyable build for detail oriented people and the set features a lot of cockpit detail inside too.
CONS: Stickers...for the price the UCS sets go for they should NOT have stickers. Additionally this is another UCS set where exclusive figures were shoe horned in while not adding to the set itself. While the droid seems logical to complete the visual of the set the pilot figure actually really detracts...mostly because of the cockpit. While very detailed in the interior the cockpit was designed to seat a standard mini fig...and the results do not work. It ends up looking like a child is flying the ship and the proportions distract a lot form the display factor. I really think they should have just left the figures out and gone with more proportion accuracy in that regard. In that case the older version seems notably better."
"PROS: The set looks pretty great and features some genuinely clever build techniques we don't get a lot of chances to see is production sets. The internal mechanics for the droid tools and the head are really well designed and provide a nice touch for more ambitious builders.
CONS: OVERPRICED this set should have been 25% cheaper. At MSRP it is pushing $.11 per part and many of the parts are smaller than the average brick. Just not worth the price. Wait for a sale. This set is always at retailers for $70-$75. Additionally, this is not a set where the figure adds anything. Honestly, the mini-fig scale BB-8 seems out of place on the display and feels tacked on just to get figure collectors to buy the set. This is a disappointing trend for lego on the UCS sets."
"PROS: Fairly fun build with some clever design aspects. The Solo sets in general seem to be giving a pretty good figure selection in each set and this was the case here too. All unique and good figures. The set has a decent part price value. For as complicated a build as it is this set is actually pretty darn good for the swoosh factor as well.
CONS: Stickers. Additionally, I think they could have replaced the shipping container for an actual train car from the movie which would have added to the value when combining it with 75217."
"This ship was a solid build. The price per part is reasonable at about $.08 per part. There are a good number of figures and they are unique for the most part.
The Falcon gets remade about every other year it seems. There are pretty close to 20 releases of the falcon now in various sizes and complexity. 7 of them have been figure sized sets. This version was a nice change of pace and reflects the movie version nicely. It doesn't stray too far from the expected Falcon build features but there are new details inside and it has a good swoosh factor for play. This one also makes a decent display piece as well.
Pros: 7 Figures most of which are unique. There is a good part value. Lots of plate and wedge parts in something other than grey! Excellent balance between cosmetics and play features.
Cons: There are stickers. There really should have been a cape room...just saying."
"I am not always a fan of the UCS sets that feature building droids or figures or busts and the like. To be fair I would not have even considered the Porg if he had not been 40% off the day I saw it.
The build was actually pretty surprising in a good way. The curvy nature and animated nature of the figure made him a fun challenge. The internal mechanics and the moving mouth were also fun little features that while simple added a lot to the build.
I still think these types of sets feel odd in the UCS line...but Porg turned out to be a fun diversion with some nice building mechanics.
The price per part though is high on this set. It has TONS of tiny parts and at almost $.12 a piece it was quite overpriced. Wait for the 40% off sale...retailers seem to realize this set was over priced and I saw it marked down at several the week it was released."
"Was pretty disappointed with this one to be honest. Several of the mini builds were reused from previous years. The figures for the most part felt like they were ones that Lego was carrying extra of because they were not the good characters. Rose, IG-88, Battle Droid, Guavian Guard, and Rowan all felt like they were put in to clear out back stocks. The only figure of interest was General Merrick who was a very nice addition. The biggest disappointment was hands down the exclusion of a holiday themed figure that has become the tradition in past years. Seems like we could have gotten a Santa Kylo Ren or Rey or something and its lack was noted. Overall this set left me wanting ESPECIALLY with the $40 price tag."
"PROS: Great build and a welcome addition to the winter village theme. Well designed. Fantastic holiday build and lots of fine details and fun build options.
CONS: No light brick...most of the holiday villages have these and they give it some extra charm. Too bad."
"PROS: The Price matches what you get. This set picked the best components from the movie and put them in one set. Wonder Woman figure was very nice...looked like the movie and the big fig brick built villain was awesome. Simple but very fun set. Very good mix.
"PROS: Probably the best Lando fig so far. Overall a great set with a good display aspect and great play ability. The design has some great features. The set feels complete and is a marked improvement over past models.
CONS: Stickers on curved parts. $10 too expensive for what you are getting."
