Good Christmas tree Ornament.
" I have several of the previous Christmas Tree ornaments so it is nice to see some with builds rather than just bricks.
It is a very simple build but that is to be expected for something so small. The hardest part was getting the ball to undo in the first place.
Maybe a bit expensive if you are looking just for bits, but it is Christmas and on a personal note I was not getting it for the parts but to decorate the tree this year and into the future so the novelty value is limitless.
I hope there are plenty in stock as over the last couple of years I've gone to get them as funds become available only to find out they are out of stock.
These would make a great pre-Christmas gift for anyone interested in LEGO so they can enjoy the build and then the fact that they have LEGO on the tree!! What is not to love about that?

Blue Cargon train.
" I say cargo as the truck that comes with the set has a cargo sticker on it.
Overall I am not a big fan of American style trains although I do have another one or two in my collection. They have advantage of not having a pantograph likeall those European railways you have released so far. They just look odd running around pantograph up and no masts or anything to accomodate it, apparently they must pick up electricity from the ai? Anyway, this nice diisel does not suffer from this so it gets a big thumbes up from me. All the extras as we have in this set, as I said the little flatbead truck, the forklift and of course not forgetting the crane that can move up and down a bit on it own tracks unllike the previous version in the old yellow one. It also has a cow, or bull(?) which goes into a cattle wagon. The only down side is that this cattle wagon is little more that a set of gates around a flat bed truck and I am reasonably sure a cow/bull could get out and either escape or cause a hazard to other trains if it remained on the track area. Overall though this is a very good set with lots of play features for those who want them and plenty of trackside bits and bobs for thos who want to create an interesting layout or of course combine the two, a layout to play with! For that matter I am giving it top marks.

A small set.
" Well, it is the smallest of the Galaxy Squad sets so I don't think too much can be expected of it. It is a tad expensive as well for what you get as there are not many bits.
However it gives you all the basic alien parts and two mini figures. I also get the distinct feeling that this set was designed as part of the blue squad flyer set and then hived off to make it self a small set of its own. The reason I say this is that you only get the blue robot and not actually any human mini figure. I notice that in other larger sets you often get a human, a robot and an alien. This set does fit well with the blue squad fighter aircraft though and the two of them together would be about the right price I guess.
One thing In its favor is that it the alien ship bits can easily be used for MOCs. I have bought four of these little sets and built two larger alien craft both the same using the parts from these sets with little left over so for people who like to make their own stuff these are great especially if you have two of them. Not to mention that gives you extra aliens and robots for those infantry men/aliens that so far we do not have.
Pros. Easy to build. Great selection of alien bits for MOCs.
Cons. A bit expensive considering the part count. You really need the blue squad fighter plane to make a set of adversary and friendly forces. "

It really crawls!
" This is a big bug by any-ones standards and it is rather articulated in that all of the legs move when you push it along.
This is one of (Probably.) the biggest of the bug vehicles at the moment and it is designed so that it can be the bug heavy artillery weapon. It has a back section on it's abdomen that holds egg like canisters that it can fire like a catapult into the Galaxy Squad lines. These break open to release small baby bugs that could cause havoc to our Galaxy Squad troops as they advance or just sit around the camp fire? This is quite a powerful catapult so no firing it at people! The big bug also has a couple of ray guns that look like they could be used as AA weapons to take down those Blue team flyers!
There is one other main feature and that is the legs moving mechanism which is a large part of the build. All the legs move and it looks pretty creepy I will tell you. I have to admit that if I had this as a child I would probably have been a little unnerved by it as it looks so real. But having said that it is an excellent build and well worth the money.

Really nice truck.
" This lorry is a nice example of way LEGO is going nowadays with the CITY vehicles. It looks and feels like a standard box wagon that you see in any town or shopping complex unloading goods in the early mornings.
It comes with a forklift truck as well that has a rubber band for that tension in the lift. The forklift actually looks like a real one as well and is just as well designed as the main feature (If not more so!) which often is not the case. In fact I would say it would make a nice entry level set on its own.
The only downside with the lorry is the way that the side opens as opposed to the rear doors. Presumably to make it easier for children (And those of us with big fingers.) to open and load the cargo inside.
It has a nice range of figures as well, one of which is a lady. It is always nice to see ladies fulfilling these jobs in LEGO CITY as well as men and gives the range a touch of reality.
I would certainly recommend this set to someone, it is a very good start to the cargo sub theme. "

Nice aircraft, but hard to stay together.
" This was the first of the new wave of sets I bought. I thought that it looked like a good private plane to have in my LEGO CITY air port and I guess in that respect I was right. It certainly makes a change from the recent glut of seaplanes we have had.
Overall the plane looks like a nice little aircraft, it is colorful for sure and catches the eye which is a bonus. On the down side the only problem I have with it is that if you hold it around the middle it is not that solid. First of all the skid part of the undercarriage is not that strong a grip so easily come off. Although it is not hard for an experienced builder to put back on, I could imagine a child finding it fiddly. The other problem is that if you hold it like this the red plates on the cockpit tend to get pushed up often at the same time the undercarriage fails. This can lead to catastrophic failures of the whole aircraft if not careful.
So some pros and cons there, I will leave you to make up your mind. I am happy with it myself but then I am not so inclined to 'swosh' it beyond the initial completion. "

Starter set.
" I have to admit that I bought this set for the ambulance rather than any of the other contents and as a result I was not disappointed. I wanted a reasonably compact ambulance to go along with a hospital I have. I was not disappointed, this is a nice little one that has opening doors at the rear and room inside for a stretcher with a casualty. The only thing I would say though is really it could have done with a second ambulance crew member to help with the stretcher.
The police motorcycle and robber are great, they are fairly simple as a motorcycle is going to be and similar to other police motorcycles. That does not detract from its usefulness however as every police force needs a few bikers so regardless of if you are using this as a starter set for somebody or simply to add to your existing CITY you will not be disappointed at it inclusion.
The Fire Engine is a bit of a let down on the other hand. LEGO CITY for some reason seems to have an excess of fire related vehicles. They must have an awful lot of fires there! It would have been nice to maybe see a general commercial vehicle like a small van or lorry, perhaps even a family car instead? Having said that, the fire engine included is small and compact with room for an extra fireman to sit behind the driver as well as room in the back for their kit. The disappointing thing as far as I was concerned was the ladder. Basically it is just a plain flat ladder tacked on top of the van with no way to elevate or swivel it. This kind of lets the vehicle down.
Overall great value, but could have done with something other than a halfhearted fire engine.

A Nice Big Jet Ski.
" I was surprised by the size of the Jet Ski in this set. I have several examples of this type of vehicle and the one here is certainly the most chunky. I suspect this is because it is the main focus of the set rather than being an add-on.
The set also comes with two mini-figures and a shark! What a bonus!
This is a great value set for an introduction to the coastguard range and I am sure to pick up a couple more simply for the figures and sharks if nothing else.

Very nice little starter set for CITY Railways.
" I think of all the CITY train sets available at the moment this is the best value for money. It provides a nice circuit of track and a point for a siding, which is a nice feature allowing people to switch railway wagons (Or even a spare engine if you have one.) around parking some whilst using others.
There is also the crane included which whilst on its own is a little bland, once added to a few CITY buildings and vehicles becomes much more playable driving the trucks up to load and unload various things.
The set also includes so small cars on a flatbed truck which again is great for your CITY and you can load other vehicles with minimum of fuss onto the railway wagon if you want to.
My only gripe as with other trains out at the moment is that this one appears to be run off a pantograph system but there are no masts included for simulating the overhead cables. Fortunately these are fairly simple to build using common LEGO bricks, but it would have been nice to have at least a few incorporated in the set.
Overall thought this is good train to start you on the road to a nice CITY railway. "

Nice but you really need two.
" As it says in the title for this to be a real example of the type of train you need two of them back to back, however if you have two it is stunning. It is a shame given that the box shows two together on the back, that they did not include the parts to make an extra Jacobs bogie between two sets, but you don't need a huge number of bits to do this. (i had enough anyway.) Add power functions and it makes for a good train. I would say that just one power function motor is not really enough to pull the mass of two trains and it is a very tight fit to get two train motors and the directional switch in the lead loco, it can be done though, just. Of course another option is to put a motor in the second loco at the back but you will need two complete sets for that! A positive with this train is that you get a lady driver which I think is the first time I have seen this in a LEGO train. Also nice features inside with a bar, toilet and coffee maker. (What is it with LEGO and coffee makers?) Anyway all in all a very good set and although it can be a lot to ask two sets make for an even better experience. The brick built details on the side are good and the windows use a nice technique, however interesting as these features are what really makes this set a challenge is fitting in everything power function wise to run two train motors, directional switch (For the rear train motor.) and lights.
